This text has established itself as one of the most highly regarded studies on the subject. Revised and expanded, this second edition incorporates the latest research and includes more discussion of the roles of the League of Nations after the conference, and of the post-war conflicts between Poland and the USSR, and between the USSR and Turkey.
Engagingly written account of the Versailles negotiations which stresses the immense task the peacemakers faced in reconciling their various ideological and pragmatic goals.
Very good work on telling the nitty-gritty details on what happened after the Great War in the different venues where negotiations where conducted. My takes are as follows:
1. F*ck Wilson 2. Too many things to cover by very little people. It shows clearly it was a monumental task that wasn't properly covered. 3. Foch's visions of the future: "this is not a peace but a 20-years armistice"
