I’ve been a fan of Robert Louis Stevenson from way back and finding one of his stories in a form like this was a lot of fun. They artwork within really brought forth the story and made it even more enjoyable. I would love to read some of the other Marvel graphic novels of some of the older stories that I remember. This one brought back a lot of memories.

March 25, 2016Davie's father just died and the minister gave a letter to Davie of inheritance from his father. He also tells Davie to go to the House of Shaws. There Davie meets his uncle, Ebenezer, and his uncle tells Davie that he can stay the night. His uncle sends Davie up a set of stairs to grab something for him, but there is nothing up there. Davie is suspicious of his uncle. The next day, on their way to see the lawyer, they stop and go aboard Captain Hoseason's ship. Davie goes below deck and learns that his father was the oldest son, so he thinks Ebenezer killed his father. He goes back above deck and realizes his uncle is gone and he is stuck on the ship and is going further away from shore.
I think that the story was kind of messed up to what to the father and that the uncle was trying to kill Davie.
I think someone that suspense would like this story.
I did not mind the story it was interesting.

June 5, 2014In the book a sixteen-year-old David Balfour, was kidnapped by his uncle, but David escapes and is caught up in the rebellion of Scottish highlanders against English rule. It was a really good book and I hope I can read the rest of the series.

It seemed to lack any real depth. I understand that it was a graphic novel adaptation, but still. There was little in way of memorable scenery, some parts felt uneven and dragged on, a few of the characters looked very similar to other characters, and overall the adaptation was very shallow.
