The illustrations in this book are wonderful! José Pérez Montero is definitely a talented artist and illustrator. I can imagine myself as a child flipping through the pages just to look at the pictures.

As far as the writing goes, at times it is quite good. At other times it almost sounds AI generated, or at least a half hearted attempt. While most stories stay quite true to the bible, others are imbedded with a lot of "personal interpretation". Some of these instances are okay, other's I personally disagree with. I understand that many Christian denominations utilize the bible, and that teachings and interpretations vary, so this book isn't going to please everyone. But at it's heart, it is pretty good.

With my personal copy I'll be editing some phrases, statements, and a couple stories.

Overall, for me the writing is about three stars, while the illustrations are five stars.

Eu achei muito interessante, esse livro, as imagens, são belíssimas, retratando, as pessoas daquelas, épocas, e daqueles povos, gostaria, que fizesse uma série, ou um filme, com esse livro. No Novo Testamento, porque, tem do Velho Testamento; tem um, capítulo, da vinda do anjo Gabriel a Maria, que ela esta, dormindo, no chão, e isso, era comum, porque, os judeus daquela época, dormiam, no chão. Jesus, está incrível nesse livro, então, eu preciso dizer, que eu, fiquei muito feliz, em ler, as histórias de Jesus, que até então, eu só conhecia, na missa, mas eu achei, bem interessante. As crianças, podem conhecer, as histórias da Bíblia, com esse livro, porque a linguagem é boa, e as imagens são belas. A linguagem, não é infantil, é boa, da pra entender, e que são ótimos.

I don't think Children's Bibles are such a idea, they lie to the children about what the people looked like and it takes away the fun of letting them imagine the people, but most of all we need to remember what the BIBLE says, in Exodus 20:4 NKJV “You shall not make for yourself a carved image— any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;" Just as it says IN THE BIBLE you shall not make any images of anything that is in the "heaven above". And God's home is in heaven therefore he lives there so that makes Him "in heaven above"!! I rest my case. Please take this into consideration before buying this and corrupting your kids minds! The illustrations in this are amazing. And the retelling of the stories are theologically sound. This is a great children's bible for kids in the 4-7 age range if reading aloud together. Better for 7-10 if reading alone.

I love reading different kinds of books, and I remember I was questioned by my classmate last 2015 if my bibliophile friend and I have ever read the Bible despite reading books in different genres.

Well, I do. But, there are some times that I cannot comprehend the situations, which makes me feel uncomfortable.

I remember, I got rapturous when I finally bought this book! And I know I'm going to re-read this over, and over and over and over again!❤

Reading this for the second time still left me with questions. To the fact that King Herod and Nebuchadnezzar died, and then appeared in the next few pages makes me wonder but, overall, I still loved how it was written and narrated. :)

This was the absolute best children's Bible that I had ever owned. It took everyday Bible stories and transformed them into understandable tales with amazing works of art! I've had this book since I was 5 years old and I had still referred back to it.

Unfortunately, I had lost the book (which is a travesty) but should I find this book again, I would definitely cherish it! ^^

It's a good, easy to understand version of the stories of the Bible. The illustrations are decent, and they are well constructed to depict the events of the stories, making the people and places more memorable to the reader.
