Terribly written. Like a bad soap opera. I kept reading it out of obligation and a sick fascination to see if the writing got better as the author got more experience. Boy was I wrong.
My low rating of this series is based on the number of technical errors in the books. She uses horses as part of the plot in most of them, but doesn't use correct terminology at all. She's doesn't even know the parts of the saddlery, or the use the correct gaits of the horse. She even talks about training a young horse and what she says is just rubbish. It has totally put me off reading any further books she has written. Why can't authors use a proofreader who has knowledge of what she's talking about?
In the first book, she refers to the patriarch of the family as Jacob, but commonly called Jake. In all the other books he is referred to as Jack. This type of error is absolutely unbelievable.
This is a pretty darn good book set…grab some tissues. and start reading now!
Man oh man…this book set is so amazing! You’ll need tissues and something cold to drink to get through these! The storylines are terrific; the characters aren’t bad either; the plots are good; and the HEAs are spectacular. Grab this set today!
I am a 72 year old man that loves to read good clean wholesome stories and Natalie always does just that. If you haven't had the pleasure of reading any of her books , and are looking for an arthur who writes from the heart, look no further Ms. Dean always delivers!
This has been a great read! It has me hooked and excited about the other boys and what lies ahead for each of them and their Momma! I’m also excited about it not being vulgar and nasty!!! It’s exciting and very well written ❤️
These books contain the stories of each of the 6 sons of the Baker family and their lives and loves and struggles after their father passed , and what mommy did! Never a dull moment!
The series shows the struggles and triumphs of a family who has lost their father. The author offers suspense, clean romance, mystery, and love throughout the novels. I wouldn't recommend this to a young teen, but to an older teen and adult it will give you hours of joy. I would have given it 4.5 stars if able instead of 4 but it did drag at points about explaining what some characters were experiencing and trying to come to terms with what's happening in their relationship. If anyone is wondering each character finds new love. Just not in the order that you might think. The stories involved witness protection, becoming a father overnight, vandalism, long lost loves, rodeos and everything else that goes on in a small town. Very good clean romance that will have you reading the next series about the cowgirls next door.
I absolutely loved reading this book set Baker Brothers of Copper Creek!!! This box set is all about one family. The Bakers are a ranching family with a mom and six brothers. It’s all about their ranch Cedar Hallow And what each of the brothers do on said ranch, and how they each have found wives. It’s also about how life is continually moving forward, even when the patriarch dies from an accident on said ranch. Come and fall in love with their mom Liz, and all her children, Ian, Cal, Tate, Brock, Finn & Sean!! Lots of emotions throughout the books!!! Definite Read!!!
This collection was solid enough to keep me reading, but I don't think I'd re-read them. Each story was clean, with mostly varied characters. I reviewed each book on their own Goodreads pages, except for the final one. I liked the twist in the plot of the last book. I also liked the relationship between the MCs and how they grew. There were some odd things which seemed a bit unbelievable, but the story was pleasant. If you enjoy clean, cowboy romance, the give this collection a try.
All books were enjoyable to read. There were second chances, love at first sight, and marriage of convenience. Like all families there was heart break, tender hearts, and mended hearts. Within the six brothers, there were hero's, fighters, and protectors. They loved their mother, their ranch, their horses and their wives. A surprise baby, that the father didn't know about, the son of another brother's wife, and very interesting women. Sometimes, I wish I could have been born into a ranch family. MK
I was glad to find this in a box set. At first I was confused. I knew I’d read book one and forgot to get book 2. This kept me from missing a book.
I think I like book one the best. Ian and Jess are great together. I’m glad the mom got a story at the end. Sadly through most of her book I didn’t like her. I get how she felt the way she did but it was just hard to like her.
The repetitive angst the writer uses takes away from the plot. What is left is a very short story that is pretty much told in the introduction to each book. No real drama or surprises and she uses the exact same expressions and descriptions of each couple as they fall for each other. I hoped the writing might improve, but it didn’t. Mass production template writing and seems this set is just one of many. A shame. Characters could have made good books if more developed plot and less angst.
Western stories of the family of Cowboys on ranches.
Wonderful family stories of finding their partners, while.saving the family ranch. The lost and pain as they found sacrifice and danger of ranch living. Each plot different each child story. The intrigue and family love of support shines thru I read both Family's book of Copper Creek. The Bakers and the McClellan clans . Thanks for including the single parents story also.
I just read this box set,it was really good. I liked how this Author went with each son in order. There love interest, then there marriages. She took you on this amazing trip. I highly recommend this book set. And I know I found myself a new Author, thank you, Natalie Dean, it was a special read.
I love this sweet clean collection of full length love stories about the Baker family. There are 6 sons and their mother, Liz, coping with life on a huge ranch after the death of their beloved father. Each son has specific strengths around the ranch and well defined personality traits. I really grew to love this family and their community.
Reading about this family of cowboys and their new found loves in unexpected ways was fun and exciting…not to say entertaining, too! These cowboys and their mom left me enjoying my look into their varied lives and rooting for their happy endings. I couldn’t wait for each one to end happily ever after.
Enjoyed reading this set of 7 books about the Baker family. I like this author’s style and own quite a few more of her books. Would recommend to any reader who enjoys contemporary cowboy romances
Enjoyed continuity of individual stories that tied them into one. Great attempt to make the characters human but felt that main characters were just too good. Enjoyed the stories overall.
Each story is so different from the other. Six brothers and their Widow mother trying to keep their ranch. Each son trying to find his own place in the family while their mom tries to find her own place. I truly believe that you will enjoy each and every story.
I loved this series and reading about each one of the boys and their mom finding love. Each story has a different twist and it was fun getting to know the Baker family. I highly recommend this series.
Enjoyed this series of stories on the Baker brothers but my favorite was that of Sean. There were several times I was almost in tears because of some of his loneliness. Happy each brother and Liz found their special soul mate.
What a delight getting to know the Baker brothers. Each story was unique in its own way as well as the characters. Loved the final book featuring mom which demonstrates there's no age limit on love!
Each brother found love in such different ways. So enjoyable following the family through it all. Even their widowed mother found love again . Well worth ready all six books!
I like the Bakers love for family and country living. This story has action from beginning to end. The farm was a good safe place until the outside world came crashing in with drugs and violence.
Each storyline is about one of the six brothers and how their lives devolved around meeting the women they would eventually marry. Each is a story of its own and how the family pulled together
Ian had a crush on Jessica, the waitress at Sal’s diner. Her boyfriend was involved with selling drugs. A group of men came in with him and shot him as she was coming through the door from the kitchen. They shot at Jessica and Ian ran with her to his truck to escape. More excitement follows, so you definitely need to read this story.
A really good romance story with some heart wrenching twists and turns. It is a clean language one also/ one I would feel comfortable letting my teen granddaughters read. I personally don’t like books with cursing and raunchy sexual play by play.
Took me over a week to read this lot of books nightshifts it kept me awake journeys in the car while driver listened to sport these were a great escape can't wait to read more
These stories were all wonderful. I enjoyed the romances and all the interactions between family members. Filled with a little excitement and lots of love this series was wonderful.
