A special World Book Day story in the epic and action-packed DRAGON REALM series from bestselling authors Katie & Kevin Tsang. Perfect for 8+ fans who love fantasy, magic, adventure and DRAGONS!'Imagination knows no limits in this fantasy adventure. The story is an endless place for exploration and discovery.' The Independent Twelve-year-old Billy Chan and his friends each share a bond with a dragon. When new dragons fall from the sky into the Human Realm, the group join forces to reunite them with their lost egg. But the Dragon Realm is filled with dangerous golden elixir, magical creatures and threats lurking round every corner. Can our heroes accomplish their mission, or will they fall at the last hurdle?
A DRAGON REALM ADVENTURE is a world book day book set in the world of DRAGON MOUNTAIN, as a gap bridge between the end of that series and where INFINITY'S SECRET, a new series in the same world, begins.
It was a lot of fun to be back with Billy as he's trying to protect Earth - humans and dragons alike - from the merging of the two realms. There are confused monsters falling into the world, and he's one of the few able to do something about it. Then he finds himself on a mission to find a very special egg.
There are all sort of lovely little hints about what's to come in INIFINITY'S SECRET. This tale is setting up how the Infinite Dragon finds themself in the world and with Billy and the crew - plus a prophecy of this dragon changing everything.
In all, it's a delightful little read to bridge the gap (and tide you over) between series.
This is a World Book Day book and therefore much shorter than the Dragon Realm series books. This adventure takes place after the 5 book series but also works as an introduction to the characters from the original books and this is no easy feat for such a small book!
The story is very well written, adventurous and filled with whimsy, fun and adventure and it ends at an incredible cliff hanger (so will there be more Dragon Realm books? We hope so!). Of course we missed some characters but the essence and the best of the Dragon Realm series is there.
Highly recommended for children 9-12, fans of dragons and adventure. Best read after reading Dragon Maountain, Dragon Legend, Dragon City, Dragon Rising and Dragon Destiny but can work as the intro to it all too.
2.75stars Was alright for a short story. Added some lore and left it open for a continuation to the series if the authors want to take that route. Although I had a ton of questions about logistics relating to the series as a whole whilst reading this, and I do think that maybe the story would've benefitted if it was a bit longer and more fleshed out. Still happy enough that I managed to read it.
A series off of a series. I loved this. A follow on from the previous series but done with a new technique (a breath of fresh air if you ask me). An author that knows how to write as times change and doesnt stick to the same status quo.
It's a short, easy read with lots of funny adventures!
Suddenly an egg falls from the "Dragon Realm" to the world of the people. Billy Chan, twelve years old, and his team of friends try to bring the egg back, but they lose it! They're going to look for him, but there are dragons everywhere. The dragons can be nice, but also mean. As if that's not bad enough, the egg also starts to break. So time is running out.....
The main characters are kind and brave, they don't give up and I think that is one of the best qualities. This story is very adventurous and you never know whatis going to happen. The writing style makes it even more exciting. I enjoyed very much!
I read this book and realised that after I finished it I still wanted to read more, but the thing was, it left me with many questions, because it’s actually a book that can be read in between the other books, so I felt like I kinda ruined it for myself 😅
