Spawn the Undead twin-series rised from the ashes of Curse of the Spawn is a 7 one-shots + a 2 issues long one series of hit and miss slow-burn urban-horror tales.

After 9 issues Jenkins decided he had no more to sayabout it and resigned, while Dwayne Turner moved to Silvestri's Top Cow studios.

Similar stories were published on the main series at the same time, and Capullo is a far better artist than Turner, so this series was redundant but still a good read if you are into that kind of horror genre.

This collection is a little slow at the beginning but once you get to the third or fourth issue the stories become much stronger.

I've always enjoyed the darker comics with the darker heroes. Someone much darker than Batman. Still waiting for a great Spawn movie though.

This was deep and dark, there wasn't any real action but the artwork was beautiful. Each issue was like a short story, except for one story that stretched over 2 issues. I actually read this as individual comics but didn't have the last 2. My biggest problem was that there didn't seem to be an overall story arch, other than Spawn was a third faction in the war between heaven and hell.
