Gargoyle Damien St. Pierre has to find an ancient artifact needed by his people. When he meets earth witch Katie Calhoun, he can't keep his hands off her. Because of the problems his people are having, Damien is afraid to attempt the conversion necessary to make her his mate. But Katie is determined to help him in his quest and to become the gargoyle of his dreams. Can her faith overcome his fear? Will the magic of love succeed in the mating of stone and earth?
Cindy Spencer Pape has been, among other things, a banker, a teacher, and an elected politician, though she swears she got better. She volunteers in environmental education, when she can fit it in around writing. She lives in Michigan with her husband, two teenage sons, a dog, a lizard, and various other small creatures, all of which are easier to clean up after than the three male humans.
3 star = I liked it for the erotic quickie that it was....
Gargoyle Damien is on a mission to find one of four missing artifacts important to his people.
I liked Stone and Earth for what it was - short and steam packed insta-gargoyle-love. There's only a touch of a story to go with the sex, and that sex includes a coupling between witch Katie in human form while Damien is in gargoyle form (as soon as that tail made its appearance there is no doubt where it was going to end up eventually in one of the love scenes.) That said, Stone and Earth did somehow still managed to give a sense of the characters Gargoyle Damien with his sexy french accent and witch Katie who is open to becoming part of his world, so for an erotic quickie it was fine.
I am pretty sure I got Stone and Earth for free, there are three other stories in this series - one for each element Earth, Sea, Air and Fire and the other gargoyles' mates sound interesting: selkie, dragon and harpy. I'd consider reading them if they ever go on sale for .99 (since they are so short.)
This is a short and steamy paranormal read about a gargoyle that needs to find one of four magical artifacts to save his race. The focus in this book is mainly on the sex, but the author does a good job of trying to weave a plot into the scenes as well. While declaring undying love and devotion after a day is just as implausible as it was in the prequel story Between a Rock and a Hard-On, the characters were written in such a way that it made sense, even going so far as to mention the craziness of such love. The artifact was entirely too easy to spot, and I hated how clueless the two characters were, but if their thoughts are on nothing but sex, I can see why they would be so clueless! All in all, a quick and easy read, one that I will enjoy revisiting from time to time!
When a gargoyle, Damien St. Pierre, meets, Katie Calhoun, a witch descended from an Earth Spirit, things heat up pretty fast. The moment they meet the sensual earthy witch and the rugged gargoyle spark a fire together that's hotter than earth's core. More than their body's meld together as it turns out Katie may be the key to unlocking a hidden artifact, Damien is searching for. One of the four ancient artifacts he needs to find to save his people. This is a fun, hot, paranormal/erotica/romance. I highly recommend Stone and Earth.
I never thought I would read about a french gargoyle but I got to when I read about Damien St. Pierre. He is sent to find the magical items that will save the gargoyles and help their population.
Katie knows about all the supernatural beings and says she will let Damien stay with her so he can do what he needs to.
This story is short and hot. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I hope that she has more so that I can read them.
I received my copy of Stone And Earth as a free book from Amazon. This first book is a very sexy short read and the start of a sexy Gargoyle series. I really liked Cindy's take on Gargoyle's and how she added other paranormal elements to this series. All four of her Stone books are filled with awesome hero's and heroine's that really heat up the books leaving each couple with their own HEA.
Wow, I think I threw up a little at that ending. So obnoxiously perfect and happy. Bah. I like HEA's as much as everyone else but this was so syrupy sweet I couldn't help but feel nauseous. Besides they were pretty dumb by not noticing Katie's necklace was actually a belt. And where was the action? It all sex and more sex. Pretty weak.

This was a quick lusty sweet romance with a good start on building a world and a hot gargoyle hero and lovely witch heroine. There is no angst in this story. We just get the beginning of a series that promises wonderful love stories mixed with an engaging and erotic paranormal world.
I've only read a gargoyle and witch pairing which is really interesting at some parts. The attraction is very much fast for me to enjoy it fully. I wish that there are more plot and action that what this story contains. There should also more relationship development than the first chapter sex.
A cute short story. A French gargoyle and a witch find love. He is cute and French lol. They must find a lost relic to help his clan. I enjoyed this short.
Hmmm... gargoyles? Thats a new one for me. Actually, it was probably the most entertaining part, but the sex scenes werent that bad. Really, just teo with hints at other things, as I recall.
