"The book has energy, movement, and a solid, comforting understanding of the emotional trials of a first grader." —School Library Journal
Clyde is worried. Show and Tell is just a couple of days away, and he doesn't know what to bring. Then by pure luck, down in the dark and dusty basement at home, Clyde discovers a unique and mysterious object—something that will hold his entire class spellbound. Young readers who have already met Clyde in LUNCH BUNNIES and SCIENCE FAIR BUNNIES, along with those who are meeting Clyde for the first time, will appreciate both his worries and his triumphs.

Clyde was worried because, unlike his friends, he hadn't anything special for Show and Tell at school. When he found a strange, delicate, furry ball in the basement he took that for his Show and Tell item. After lunch everyone was greatly surprised and excited when they discovered what was inside the ball. They all decided Clyde's Show and Tell was the best. A great story with expressive illustrations.
What is Clyde going to do? He has nothing to bring for show and tell tomorrow at school.Everyone else brought something cool...false teeth, a dinosaur toe bone, or monster cards. He decides to go into the dark, creepy basement and see what he can find. He spies a lopsided gray ball...it will have to do. But when the gray ball turns into 244 spiderlings, the class was in awe. And, his teacher told him he brought 'new life' to the show and tell presentations.
Clyde has no idea what to bring to show and tell. He has a leaf scrapbook, but chooses to bring an old box that he found in the house. He brings that to school and it ends up leading into a lesson of spiderlings, as the box had 240 inside!
Great book for beginning predictions. Can be an introducion to the teaher having their own show and tell item and the students can use their senses to figure out what it could be.
