Began this book June 2023 for premarital counseling! It was a good tool to use to foster conversations with Simon and Jay Anderson (!!). There were 3 chapters that were intended to be completed after the wedding (perimarital counseling, perhaps?). In short, I’m thankful for the conversations this allowed/allows us to have together!

This handbook covers the fundamental topics to discuss with your finace(e) prior to the wedding. It's also an excellent refresher for post-wedding discussion. I went through this book as part of pre-marital counseling. What I liked was each section was mostly questions, to facilitate discussion, rather than advice for the engaged couple. Each section covers a topic (ex. sex, finances, in-laws, wedding planning, communication) with an introduction of the authors' experience and perspective on that topic. It also offers a list of recommended readings if you want to dive deeper into that particular topic. Overall, straight to the point and insightful.

Good little intro Marriage Counseling Book, preferably for those who aren't looking to get into the deeper dive of many questions. I feel this would be an appropriate introduction book during a marriage counseling session, and then move onto something a bit more robust.

Thought this book was very well done and very good for me and my boyfriend (at the time; he's my husband now) to discuss a lot of issues that would affect us during marriage. Helped us to communicate a lot of things that we wouldn't otherwise have thought of. Highly recommend.

Neil and I are going through this, and it's been very helpful so far with practical principles and questions that provoke you to go deep.
