I love mysteries, and Anderson's Godahl is a curious collection of stories around the character who is an American version of Lord Peter Whimsey and Charles Lytton. Each story is unique, set in NYC prior to WWI, and partaking of the fin de sicle elegance of the late Gilded Age and his character is almost invisible in the stories themselves. Anderson never wrote as well or as creatively as Doyle, but it is still fun to step back in time.

An interesting bevy of short stories. The last one was the most entertaining.
