February is learning about the city. It is a really good introduction to the human body. The illustrations are nice and help with explaining. I wish they were a little better on showing inisde the body. The text is great.

What am I Made Of? Is a basic introduction to human anatomy. This book does a great job explaining new terms such as "tibula" and "femur" to elementary aged students. I used this book to talk about what signals the nerves in our body send to our brain. The students wrote their ideas on envelopes to represent the messages that the nerves send. Ideas such as cold, prickly, loud, etc can be found on page 26. I would definitely use this book again in an anatomy or science lesson.

This is the perfect book for an introductory to biology for young children. This book can be used in a myriad of lessons to discuss how our body functions and what components makes us who we are. Students can definitely make self to text connections because the books talks about the body and as humans we all have bodies, students can point to and discover ways to interact with each other to explore these topics.
