I'm the author of seventy-something novels, including romance, women's fiction and mystery. When We Were Sisters debuted in June 2016, a stand alone novel about two foster sisters traveling back into their past together. I loved writing it and love the cover my publisher chose.

I'm also excited about my recent series, Goddesses Anonymous, which started with One Mountain Away and was followed by Somewhere Between Luck and Trust. The third book in the series, A River Too Wide, came out in July 2014. The Color of Light debuted in August 2015. Will there be more? We'll see.

I'm also putting up my newly edited romance backlist and love re-reading and updating them a bit.

Last year my husband and I moved from Virginia, to Osprey, Florida, the state where both of us were raised, met, and married. In the summer we live in Chautauqua, New York. I'm a quilter, knitter, kayaker, and the mother of four children, whom I regard as my greatest creative endeavors. And now there are four wonderful grandchildren to spoil.

I am not sure I would have picked up this book if it hadn't been recommended to me and that would have been my loss. This was such an emotionally heart-tugging book. The heroine lives in the small-town she was born in and the house she grew up in. She spent seventeen years of her life looking after her never pleased mother; and found little happiness in teaching at school and in raising Amy, the daughter of the man she occasionally saw. She is still dealing with the ramifications of her mother's death when Sloane, her first and only love and first lover comes back into town. Sloane never wanted to come back to his small-town, he built a successful life for himself but when he discovers he has a 15-year-old-son he never knew about and that son grew up on a hippie commune, his small-town and aunt offer a temporary haven. From the moment these two run into each other there are such emotional undercurrents and underlying hurt and emotion. Sloane loved Elise and asked her to come with him, but she was afraid and didn't go. He never quite forgave her for that and felt he left a part of himself behind. I don't think my words can do justice to the emotional impact of the book but I really loved it. The heroine helps his son open up, and even makes Amy help him - sparking off a teenage romance. The hero had always kept himself closed off but in front of the heroine he had no defenses. He knew he was always gonna leave town and that the heroine would stay. I loved seeing Elise finally grown stronger, her life had been so sad and constrained by a parent who wouldn't let go. She wanted Sloane to ask her to leave with him this time but wasn't sure she would have the courage. I expected what would happen at the end. I loved these two people who deserved their HEA.

A beautiful second chance story

It’s been seventeen years since Sloane left Elise in Miracle Springs and now he’s back with a son he just found out about. Elise has loved Sloane all this time, but she won’t let him back in just like that. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say you will want to read Clay and Amy’s story, when you finish this book.
