I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. "Vengeance of the Demons " by Rebekah R. Ganiere I felt when reading this book that I needed to have read a previous book to catch up with William and Evan. Although It didn't really hurt not too as they went over some of what I had missed, I just felt I could have enjoyed this story more. William used to be human and was turned into a vampire. William has had feelings for Evan since they first met. But Evan hasn't seem to return the feelings as actually seems to hate him. William and his group feel that they need to make contact with more humans to try to combat some daemons. They try to get help from Evan but she doesn't want to do it. So they pretty much set her up to do so. But this takes William and Evan on a painful adventure that will have them coming to turns with their feelings.
For once, I can't rate a DNFed book. But this time it wasn't the book's fault (I hope), it was mine (kind of...). I like badass characters, interesting plots and (at least) decent writing. Here, the characters were pretty weak (maybe they change, but I'm in no mood to stay and find out) and the plot was boring and not for me.
I was very surprised by this book, the premise was very promising. The author is very talented she creates a world that sucks you in right from the beginning.
I didn't realise that this is the last book in the series. Which irritated me but I wasn't willing to go back and read the others but the author covered her bases because there was background Information that set up the progress of the book nicely.
A virus hit and it changed most of the Population. There are vampires, vampyr and Vamps, I not going to go in details about this. Humans live in enclaves. They are the weaker species. A war is about to break out with the demons and the vampires They need all the help, any help that they can get.
This means asking the humans for help more specifically weapons. The rift between the worlds in crumbling and once it falls there will be no way without stopping by a lot of people dying. It was refreshing to not have a completely over the top Hero but someone who was strong but yet dare I say normal even though he is a Vampyr.
So why couldn't I give it 5 stars you ask? Well it is Evan that ruined it for me a bit especially her attitude at the beginning. She is strong and sassy. A real ball buster and I get her reasoning behind why she acts the way that she does. She has been away from her enclave for three years now and a lot has changed. Especially what her uncle Lou is doing with trying to find a cure.
Enough now, I don't want to give too much away. Fingers crossed I have made this book tasty enough for you to go out and one click it.
Vampires never get old in my book and this was a different take on the supernatural and paranormal world in a distorted planet where humans aren't free. I instantly took a liking to William because he was so considerate and thoughtful, holding on tightly to his humanity. I like Evan because she had spunk, a backbone and wit. The read was interesting and Evan and William were a ride all their own.
William has wanted Evan from the moment he laid eyes on her but she wants nothing to do with him. Of course, that's what he thinks given her attitude but the truth is she wants him, too. Circumstances arise to which Evan and William's relationship take a drastic change of a more pleasant nature. As the two struggle with their own desires and feelings, a war is coming to a head.
Honestly, I was fascinated the entire time because there was a lot going on between the relationship between Evan and William, William himself, Evan's own issues and the actual world around them. The society structure was intricate and interesting. The ultimate threat coming from the Demons was a nice addition to the already complicated story. Overall, I was pleased and amused.
Wow, this series just get better with each new book. I hope Rebekah isn’t done with this series. William is a fledgling, and is third in charge of the Chicago region coven. He was purchased to be Lord Danika assistant and has proven to be much more. When he offers to tail a human being allowed to escape, Williams’s life will never be the same. Evangeline, Evan, hate vampires and all they stand for. When she escapes to go back home to her family, Evan never thought that she would almost die and be saved by the one species she hates. But does she hate them enough, to let the one vampire she seems to have feelings for, to let her family torture him. Can or will she help? Can they survive wants is come as well as their past? Great read.
This was an exciting addition to the author Rebekah Ganiere's Society Trilogy. In this story we have William a devoted vampry to the vampire who bit him to save his life, and to the Society she rules. He is as soft spoken and mild as he was as a human and has harbored a secret love for the vampire hating human Evan. The world unknowingly is in dire danger by the demons who have found a way to enter to earth through a portal and the only plan that can save them includes getting Evan to get the humans to partner with them against their common enemy; but will the humans believe them? This is the story of their journey to find her "people" and what happens to William when they encounter them. From the beginning of their journey their relationship is strained, her end is filled with hate for vampires and William's with his love for her and his loyalty to the Society. But with a terrible twist from her family William is forever changed and is no longer the person she began to love. Their journey entails stubbornness, humor, strength. courage, torture and terror and turns to one of betrayal and evil. Can their new found feelings for each other be strong enough to overcome what happens? If you love paranormal with these ingredients you will definitely want to get "Vengeance of the Demons", you won't be disappointed.
William, the vampire, wanted Evan, the human woman. Evan hates vampires and it doesn’t matter whether they are born or bitten, she hates them all.
Evan has plans to recruit as many humans away from vampire slavery and escape back to a secret and secure compound.
William and his coven of vampires and daemons believe they need Evan human friends to win a battle coming with the evil daemons that are escaping from hell.
They trick Evan into leading William back to her compound only to find that the humans there are committing even worse crimes against humanity and vampires alike.
Will the humans come to the aid of the vampires with the weapons, they desperately need, in time?
The story contained many original and imaginative ideas. The writer did quite well with the world building but it was lack of character development that completely disconnected me from the heart of the story.
I received this ARC copy of Vengeance of the Demons from Kensington Books - Lyrical Press in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication May 10, 2016.
Vengeance of the Demons was an unusual story. It was a little slow, a little fast, a lot dark and strangely intriguing. I was pretty much able to follow the storyline, however, I would definitely have benefitted from exposure to the other stories linked to this book. Vampires, vamps, vampyr, demons, fae, humans...there was a lot going on. Bottom line, Evan and William were able to connect and find something very special.
Vengeance of the Demons was a great read in a world where vampires and humans live together. Well, sort of. Vampires keep humans to feed them. I love this world created for vampires, vampyrs, and humans.
I love the different twists on vampires in The Society. The world-building is awesome. I love it. I could read stories in the world of The Society forever. I never want it to end.
The world of vampires, vampyrs, and humans in Vengeance of the Demons reminds me of the TV shows The Walking Dead and Van Helsing. I would love to see The Society made into a TV show. I would watch it over and over. I would never get tired of it.
A war is on the horizon between the vampires, humans, and demons. The demons want to take over leaving humans and vampires to join forces and fight the monsters together.
Vengeance of the Demons kept me on the edge of my seat as I raced to the end I had to know what was happening next and how it would turn out. The many twists and turns kept me hanging on page after page. I was lost in its world when I started reading Vengeance of the Demons.
I enjoyed reading Vengeance of the Demons so much that I highly recommend it to all fans of vampires! Grab a copy of Vengeance of the Demons today!
But I suggest that you start with book one Reign of Vampires and then go on to the second book Rise of the Fae before reading the third book Vengeance of the Demons so that you will know more about what is happening in the story. The Society series would be a better read if read in order.
Vengeance of the Demon is the last book in The Society trilogy and did not disappoint. The story of Evan & William actually was my FAVORITE book of the trilogy, Rebekah Ganiere did a stellar job at tying the story and all of the different main characters together at the end!!!
Unlike the previous two books, Vengeance of the Demon didn’t focus within the Coven House and instead had more of a sense of adventure to it. I fell in love with Williams character during the first book and I was so happy to get a chance to watch him find love and learn more about his character through his POV. I loved watching Evan’s character evolve and change through the series, she was always a strong female but she really owned that during her adventure with William.
Be ready for some steamy scenes (nothing too erotic) and some adventure. This story also has some unforeseen twists that really played out to this books strength. My only wish was that the epilogue had been the last chapter and that the epilogue had tied up a few more loose ends... who knows though, maybe there’ll be one more surprise book. One could hope.
I was given a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.
It's REALLY hard to review this book without revealing the plot and spoilers is something I just won't do. I will say that there was a slight delay in my finishing this book because I stopped reading about 25% in (kindle). I was worried about continuing the book as I sensed that something bad was going to happen to one of the main characters and I didn't want that to happen! Anyway I eventually got the courage to continue and read the rest in a couple of days. To me that just shows how good the writing is, when you genuinely care for a character and their wellbeing.
I loved this book as much as the previous two. It does manage to wind the story up so there are no loose ends, but enough left there could be more (please).
The book brings two more characters to the forefront from the previous books and the story develops around them until the climax when all 6 main characters are brought together. There was a plot twist I wasn't expecting, but I'm rubbish at spotting them so others might!!
All in all a very good trilogy about Vampires, Demons, Fae and Humans. I'm gutted it's finished as I really enjoyed it. So I will now go off to find another series written by Rebekah R. Ganiere.
This is the last book in the trilogy, but I sort of wish it wasn’t. This last book sees the invasion of the demons into the realm. However, before we see them, Evan and William go on an adventure, with lots of drama, action, and betrayals. Their love story isn’t a standard one, or an easy one, and there were a few surprises in this book I didn’t see coming. I know I’m being vague, but it’s hard not to talk about this book without giving away too much information. Being surprised about a twist is half the fun. Rest assured this book was a great concluding title. However, I do wish we could see all the characters in another installment just to see them deal with the aftermath of this book. There were some characters I’d like to see again or see get their HEA. Highly recommend! I was provided a complimentary copy of the e-book which I reviewed voluntarily.
This had to be the best conclusion I have seen for awhile. This book had me engulfed from the first page and had my emotions all over. The author drew you into her book and you could not help but feel for Evan and William. William, of course, I had fallen in love with during book 1. He had done so much it was just fitting that he first d the one to love or to have love him, but will he make it thru everything that he has to do?
You are right there with Evan and William thru everything and if you do not find yourself crying during many parts of this book then you better go back and read it again. This book will pull at your emotional strings and you cannot help but let it.
Will everyone get their happiness in the end, please read to discover.
This was a enjoyable and entertaining read. I'm kinda sad that this is the last book in the series. So even though I enjoyed this book I have to say that I had a love-hate relationship with Evan. Her attitude really annoyed the hell out of me, I'm all for a strong independent heroine but she was a little bit to much. As I continued on with the story I saw and better understood the reasoning behind Evan antics. Well I don't want to give out any spoilers so you'll have to check it out this series for yourself. I will say that there plenty of action, suspense, betrayal, and of course steamy romance. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
As well as the Darknest is darkest before Dawn, is the story in this book really the darkest one of the Society Trilogy. But the happyend is really rewarding. I loved, how the characters evolved in this book and when Evan finally realised, that vampires, vampyres and vamps are beings, which aren´t good or bad, which are only trying to live in best possible way. And also that the humas aren´t innocent victims or purehearted. In every Society are good and bads members and only the Society is meant to die, which is unable to change, to adapt. Many of the charactes from previous books, were present and the book ended lovely.
The 3rd and final book in The Society series. The demons are attacking more everyday, friends are being lost everyday. This book takes us on the adventure of William and Evan.
Will William be able to get the help that they need to beat the demons? I called a few twists and I am SO glad I did. This book takes us from Chicago all the way to the Pacific, and back!
I really enjoyed the book, but as always, I am sad when the end of a 'story' comes. Always those unanswered questions, what more could have happened or will....
There are a few steamy situations so maybe let's keep the reader to older YA and up.
While I know that all good things must come to an end, I really wish this trilogy wasn't over with this book! I have really enjoyed this series, and I'm not sure, but this may have been the best of the best of the bunch! This world was so well-built, the characters were so easy to picture as real, and the mythology of the world felt so real. I just love this author, so I'm not surprised in the least, but I always miss the characters, and I just always want to live with them a bit longer! If you haven't read the first 2, you probably won't really understand this, but it is a nice closure to the story. I had no idea how it would end, which I love!
What a thrilling conclusion. This time we get to experience William and Evan's story and adventure. In Williams attempt to find the humans safe haven and get the to help or at least the use of their weapons' against the demons coming, it comes to be discovered her uncle Lou is not in charge. Many other revelations come to light, but I won't spoil it by telling them. Arriving back into Chicago with William in bad shape, Mason does the only thing he thinks can help him. When the final battle arrives it's the vampires, vampyr, humans, and fae against the demons.
Vengeance of the Demons is the third and final book of Rebekah R. Ganiere's The Society series. The world building in this series is wonderful. The characters are extremely enjoyable. There are still quite a few editing issues throughout this book as with the others in the series. The editing is why it only got 4 stars out of 5. There is so much going on in this book and so much more story that could be told hopefully Mrs Ganiere will add to the series or even write a spin-off series.
This final book explores a familiar character from the first two books and continues the final confrontation between the realm dwellers. Although I enjoyed the characters and their struggles, I personally found that the story wasn't as great as the first two books in the series and I feel it requires some more action to be as great as it can be. Having said that, I still consider this one of my favourite new series.
Phenomenal Series! A must read All the books in the society series are great, Rebekah has an illuminating imagination. I did however, love this book the best. All of the characters just evolved some much in this series. I was glad to see where she took William and Evans story. I laughed and cried while reading this book. If you've not read any of Rebekah's books, you are truly missing out I strongly recommend this series.
I loved this story! Watching William change and grow over the last couple of books was great. I will admit to having suspicions during the last one about he and Evan, but their story went above expectations! Evan is such a strong, and exasperating, female but wants to do the right thing even when it's difficult, so watching their relationship develop was interesting!
Oh my, William and Evan went through a lot of trials and tribulations. This story had me on the edge of my seat in suspense most of the time! I loved how The Society leadership was shaken up at the end. It would be interesting to have a follow up story set 10-20 years in the future to see how it all turns out.
Now I have a problem. I said the first to are great now the last one is great to I so enjoyed all three books. Mason is all that and then some. His sister is a bad ass. And William comes through. Loved the characters and how a family is born and grows. You have to read all 3 believe me you won’t put the down till you are done. Owlreader
This is the last story in the series. It is William and Evan's story and it's complicated, funny, emotional, heartbreaking, and hopeful all in one I am extremely sad to see this series end, and hold out hope that the author may find these characters calling to her again in the future. I suggest reading in order.
This book had so many twists and turns that made me throw away my kindle a few times... and then run to pick it up because I needed to see what would happen next. William and Evan are such a great couple and everything they went thru was driving me nut... A few times I really thought it would all end badly!! I loved this book, a great finale for an awesome trilogy
Once I started this book I could not stop. The author has me enthralled with Evan and William. So much changed between them and they both changed individually. Some of the changes may not of been good but it led to an amazing ending. We have all the characters from the previous stories. There is plenty of drama and death but there is also love and hope.
Where to start... I felt like I was right there with Evan and William so much to over come and get through. The battle between vampires and demons seemed a bit quick at the end but the outcome was great. I was glad to see William back to his old self again.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I loved this series. Hate to see it end. Each book was good. Everything wrapped up well. Glad none of my favorite characters died. Could not put the book down. Worth one's time to read. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review
Best one yet. Kept you on the edge of your seat the entire time. I could not put the book down. William and Evan try to save the vampires. Both characters are written well and you fall in love with them.
