Ten years after leaving Greece, Penny Haywood was back. Her father had been badly injured in yet another treasure-seeking expedition, and Penny was sure she could finally convince him to give up his dangerous pursuits.
She was dismayed to find him recuperating at the villa belonging to his wealthy neighbor, Steffan Korda. Steffan --- the object of Penny's adolescent infatuation. And the man she was falling in love with all over again.
But despite the kisses they shared, despite her pleading, Steffan intended to finance her father's next life-risking expedition. And that was, something Penny couldn't forgive.
This novel started out a bit unpleasant with the main character, Penny, being belligerent and so insistent that her father cease his treasure hunting. The story ended up being rather interesting with character development and it showed some glimpses into life in Greece which, for me, made it worth the time spent reading.
Cute, I didn't really like how everyone treated her like a kid throwing a tantrum in the first part. But the whole book felt real you could really believe it.
