The Haunted series debuted in August 2009 with two books, The Ghost on the Stairs and The Riverboat Phantom. In The Knight in the Shadows, a Renaissance French squire protects a sword on display in the Metropolitan Museum in New York City. Can Jon and Tania help him move on, when they don't even speak his language?

11 year old Tania can see ghosts and while her older brother Jon can’t, he has his hands full making sure his sister’s secret talent stays secret. The siblings find a French ghost guarding a sword in a museum and must help the ghost move on, although neither knows how to speak French! Who can they trust with their secret? A fun story about two kids trying to deal with the paranormal. Third in the Hunted series.

This was an enjoyable read, just not engrossing; maybe I didn't feel like there was a lot at stake for the characters. I would recommend it for younger readers, who would probably get drawn into it more and like watching the characters try to solve the mystery.

A very different type of haunting and a really fun change to the script. I loved the changes in behaviours and allegiances. I love swords and it reminds me that they gain or keep souls. Another great book in the series.
