The Sesame Street Potty Time with Elmo comes with a seven-button audio module that enables children to add voices and other sounds to a story about Elmo teaching his doll, Baby David, all about using the potty.
The book is recommended for children ages 18 months and older.Icons on the book's pages match the buttons on the sound module. Children press a button that matches a page to activate sound. They hear words of wisdom from Elmo to Baby David about all aspects of using the potty, including washing hands afterward, and other sound effects, including a flushing toilet.
The Sesame Street Potty Time with Elmo has coated, board pages that resist rips and tears, and wipe clean of spills. The book conforms to the toy safety requirements of ASTM F963-08. Three replaceable AG-13 button cell batteries that power the sound module are included.
I don't think the narrative structure complemented the storytelling objectives the authors set out to accomplish. Much of what is said could be either condensed to spill less ink or merited expansion.
The parallels to Dostoevsky's conception of suffering, in context of having to wait for potty time, earned this book two stars, but reader beware: the political agenda here is blatant. Braindead liberals might enjoy it, but they will be enjoying alone.
Ok this book doesn't need a review. If you actually want to read this book then I will spoil you right now. ELMO GOES POTTY AND THEN SINGS IN THE POTTY PARADE!!!!!!! Haha couldn't help myself. Read for the lolz.
How could it get better? Lots of colorful pictures, neat sounds, and Elmo guide you through this fun book. My potty training two year old 'reads' this all day!
This book shows human culture in... the potty. You NEED this book if you are having business troubles (if you know what I mean)HIS IS THE BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD!!!!!
Synopsis:"Read the story and press seven sound buttons to hear Elmo teach Baby David about the potty. Elmo makes potty-training fun and encourages young readers to use the potty. Full color."
My Review: This is a good book to eat up all that time sitting on the potty. It is a little long and busy with all the times to push the buttons but it also gives little one a reason to sit still for a little longer. Munchkin really liked the end when Elmo talked about favorite underwear. The sound effects are also fun and varied from flushing the toilet to opening and closing the door and encouraging words.
The thing I wasn't prepared for when I became a parent was all the potty talk. Seriously, I never knew there was so much to discuss about the activity. Yes, being a parent opens up a wide variety of things I hadn't ever considered before.
That is how one can end up with a book that describes this very personal time replete with sounds and Daddy doesn't even bat an eye. Sigh . . .
This is a board book that has seven different buttons for the youngster to push that make various potty noises. Yippee!
So this book, great the first few times, but with sounds oh dear gods I remember this book from Willows potty training days..I'll give it 4.....the amount of times I have hears"Elmo go potty" And the flush sounds...I'd rate it negative 4 due to omg the buttons being pressed over and over, but she was loving it over and over.
Yeah, I'm counting this as having read it. My kid got it for the iPad and just keeps playing it over and over and over. Since I now know the thing by heart, it gets to go on my list T.T
This is it, guys. This is what my life has become. One minute, you're young and cute, and you blink, and then you're reading a Goodwill-purchased Elmo potty training book featuring Baby David to your stubborn almost-three year old son. He liked it so much I had to read it 5 times back to back. I could take or leave it, but perhaps my tastes are a bit more refined. Not putting any stars because I refuse to commit entirely to the fact that I'm rating his potty training literary repertoire.
My kids like this book and I think it's helpful when you're teaching them how to use the potty/toilet. However, I found the sounds to be really annoying. There are just too many cues in the text about when to push the buttons (maybe 5 per page), so I usually just press 1-2 per page.
I got this for my 2 year old son for Christmas and will be using it to start potty training him soon. Wish me luck! Did any other parents have success using this? Something tells me he's only going to be interested in pressing the buttons lol
We actually got this one awhile ago, but just re-read it tonight. This was a good one for introducing the potty and the procedures involved. Could have been more in-depth, but good for a conversation starter.
