"It's a chess game," said Donald Trump earlier today, apropos of his differences with charismatic North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. But what kind of game, I'm sure you're wondering? Here's some up-to-the-minute commentary from the man himself.

Two knights defense, Ulvestad variation

Donald Trump - Kim Jong-un

1 e4

Bobby Fischer, an American world champion - great, great player - said this was the best move. Best by test. And he was right. It's the best. And it's American. That's enough for me.

1 ...e5

I could see Kim's plan right off the bat. He was going for the Berlin Wall. Believe me, I know about walls. We're gonna build a wall, and it's gonna be beautiful. I was ready for him.

2 Nf3 Nc6

Sometimes when I'm black I play 2... Nf6 here. CNN called it the Russian game. Fake news. I don't play any Russian games. I don't know anything about Russian games. More fake news from the MSM! And why don't they say that Hillary plays the Moscow Variation all the time?

You gotta be flexible. Kim thought he had his wall, and then - pow! - I didn't put my bishop on b5. That's what Obama would have done. Believe me, the days of telling our opponents what we're gonna do are over.

3 ...Nf6

Kim didn't even blink. I kind of admire him. Not as much as I admire Vladimir Putin obviously. But a bit.

Now I've got an armada of pieces heading towards his king. Very powerful. I've got bishops. I've got knights, they're far more powerful than the bishops. This I can tell you.

He moved his pawn forward and I just bombed the shit out of it. While eating the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake. It's an awesome responsibility. The destruction.

My bishop's still heading for his king, but it does it by going home. Like if your aircraft carrier is heading for Korea, you send it to Australia first. I like to be unpredictable.

This book has a little bit of everything. The beginning chapters were great for beginners, but the rest is a bit too advanced if you're just starting out. I will need to reread this book in the future, but I think that the openings that are covered here are only cursory in their nature. If you're looking for something comprehensive, this is not the book for you. But it does provide a great introduction to many different concepts, and this is definitely the best feature of the book.

I started this book (on page 42), but I misplaced it while moving. If I find it, I will finish it.
