Fetish Girls

Rate this book
The American King of Fetishism.

As a teenager, New York photographer Eric Kroll was excited by women in bondage or high heels à la Betty Page - and he still is. His pictures of models in leather and rubber, bound and gagged, have made his name one of the classics in the bondage world.

Man Ray, Weegee and Eric Stanton were his avowed idols. The American King of Fetishism opens the door on a cabinet of bizarre lust and fantasy, spiced with an unfailing and unmistakable irony.

Women in all kinds of poses. With latex, lascivious, fetish attire... the photos are black and white and colour. Definitely a book to grab if you put it on the coffee table especially with that spectacular red cover. Recommended!

Apparently photographer Eric Kroll sets out to shock with his longstanding fascination with high heels, corsets and garter belts. This selection of his work has a selection of such items and in some instances may well shock the reader.

Kroll opened his own photographic studio and contributed regularly to the magazines 'Vogue' and 'Elle' ... but I imagine not with the photographs in this collection!

"still life"
Kroll's photography is concerned with set-up & dress-up (models in his studio, mostly), so the images are static in mood and form. There's careful attention to photogaphic detail (light, color, framing), but other than that I can't say the images have any particular liveliness, or that they reveal anything about the subjects.
