Wonderful. A delightful read.
So good, even from the first page, so easy to read, and very enjoyable. I remember Kelvin from being in Emmerdale Farm as it was then-my grandad and my mum watched it, but I didn't really watch it much years ago-now I do. Kelvin left the soap-and now he's a farmer! He seems like an ordinary guy from Oldham, with no airs and graces, fame hasn't spoiled him. I couldn't wait to read this family's story. I've never seen their series on TV, so I was coming to the book first.
Written from both their points of view, Kelvin and Liz alternate, each telling a chapter or so, then swapping over. They seem very likeable, untouched by fame, and their story really held my attention.
Theirs is a magical love story: childhood sweethearts, meeting all those years back at primary school.
The book isn't just about now, it starts right back at their childhoods. Very varied-not just about their farming life. They've both done so much; far more than I realised. It makes very interesting reading. You also get to know a bit about behind the scenes at Emmerdale.
A delightful read.
