If Gail knew Uncle Perkins' stories were true, she wouldn't have taken her friends up that mountain.
The plan was simple. Hike, camp, and ride the zipline back down the mountain. But Gail's Uncle Perkins' stories are true, and the horrors are real. Now the simple plan is the only plan they have to get off that mountain or disappear, remaining there forever.
Zipline is an immediately gripping, fast-paced, unique story that will keep you entertained until the last sentence.

I won this from a Goodreads giveaway. This was a quick read and because of this the characters lacked development and there was a lot of confusion as to what happened by the end. It was a fun read, but I wish I didn't have so many questions that could have been answered with some back story.
Zipline is the first in a new thriller/suspense novel series. Gail and her friends decide that a trip up a mountain that is featured in a lot of her uncle’s stories is a great idea. They think that the stories are just that – stories, but what they’re going to find is something much more. Will they be able to make it out a live? Or will the mountain and the forest on it take something from them? This story has some promising elements to it. Things start out interestingly enough. You get a touch of backstory here and there, but one could really do with a lot more. When reading a thriller novel, that’s exactly what we’re looking for. Those thrills and suspense that pull you to the edge of your seat and keep you coming back for more. As it is, the story is evenly paced, but could use some spicing up. Okay, some spicing up and more detail in spots to really flesh the story out. There isn’t a big cliffhanger at the end of this book, but there will be more to come. Hopefully the author will give readers more backstory on what happened prior to and where things are going next. 4 out of 5 stars
I have a bucket list and taking a ride on a zipline is on the list. After reading this book, I’m sure I’ll be imaging what scary things I’m rushing past as I zip along above the tree canopy.
Coming in at just 82 pages in my paperback copy, Zipline packs an eerie punch. The author managed to flesh out his characters too, and that’s no mean feat with so few pages.
There’s something strange happening at Finch Mountain. Nicknamed BEASTLY, that tag and an old man’s warning should have been enough to deter Gail and her friends. That old saying, “Curiosity Killed The Cat” turns out to be oh so true as they venture into the dark forest. And the second part of that saying, “Satisfaction Brought Them Back” proves not so true.
The action begins almost immediately and the story “zips” along. Will they get off the mountain? Who survives? Anyone? My curiosity was answered and what fun it was finding out.
I received a complimentary copy. my review is voluntarily given.
I want to climb a mountain and go on zipline, but not this one, not with Unc's stories! It got my heart pumping and was a fast read. I would have liked a little longer of a story, so I could have spent more time on the mountain with the group. We dive into the aftermath soon with the series' next installment and I am eager to pickup where this left off!
BLURB: If Gail knew Uncle Perkins' stories were true, she wouldn't have taken her friends up that mountain.

Zipline by P. Anthony Michael is an exhilarating rollercoaster of a read that had me hooked from the very first page. The author's ability to create tension and suspense is truly commendable. The characters, though briefly introduced, are intriguing and relatable, leaving me eager to learn more about their backgrounds and motivations. The mountain's enigmatic lore adds a layer of mystery that left me captivated and craving answers. The book's brevity only adds to its intensity, leaving me both satisfied and yearning for more. If a part two were to be written, I'd dive in without hesitation. Kudos to P. Anthony Michael for crafting such an engaging and pulse-pounding tale!
The perfect book to read at night by the campfire...or maybe not. I enjoyed the story overall, and I don't think I'll be going camping or hiking anytime soon after reading this. The tense parts of the story are absolutely bone-chilling. The biggest weakness, for me, was the characters. They just fell a bit flat. That said, if I had to describe this book in a few words, I'd say it reminds me of one of those b-movies that you watch late at night, then realize it was scarier than you expected, and maybe you don't want to go to bed after watching it. Overall, a great, quick read if you're looking to send chills running down your spine. And...skip the hiking trip up the mountain, maybe?
They always ventured forth, especially when warned against ever setting foot in dangerous places. Even when they could sense in their bones that such locations are not only dreadful but also seemed to harbor strange, dangerous beings. That's human nature for you. This is why I agree with the character who says, "Curiosity killed the cat."
While the story revolves around a group of daredevils eager to explore and seek answers to their questions—a common narrative trope—Anthony makes the reading engaging by informing the reader about the book's premise early on. He then gradually reveals the intricacies of the mountain, leading to a satisfying conclusion.
I almost gave up on this short little story and I’m so happy I didn’t. There seems to be parts of the story missing. But the last 30 pages or so are wild!! And so worth the wait! But I want of the mountain story and the history there. Will look forward to reading more of this series.
The idea of this story was good, but I feel this needed more fleshing out. Feel like the characters were just one dimensional. However, I understand this is the prequel to a new series, so maybe it does become more.
I won this copy in a giveaway in exchange for an honest review.
Zipline was suspenseful, constantly having me on the edge of my seat. Like all good suspense books, it has a warning: Don’t Go Up The Mountain. I can't wait for the next book!
This was a high-octane thrill ride packed with suspense, action, and gripping twists. P. Anthony Michael crafts a duo of page-turners that keep you hooked from start to finish. The characters are raw and relatable. A must-read for adrenaline junkies and action lovers!
I did enjoy this book. It was fast paced with something always going on. Even though the characters were briefly introduced they seemed very interesting. I would have enjoyed more character building but I enjoyed the banter between them all. The author did a good job building suspense. This was a very quick read and enjoyable.
