A.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over twenty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.

Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars!

When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.

I don't get it

I really had a hard time with the heroine. I understood her frustration but a divorce? It just didn't seem right. I had to go back and reread parts to see why she wanted one. Yes he was truly obsessed with his job and making money for them. But he wasn't out carousing, or cheating or anything like that. He truly did love her and yes he whined about not getting 'lucky' but she totally shut him down. It was just weird to me but maybe that is because I have been married 46 years to the same guy and things like that are bumps in a road. Not a dead end. They had so much together. I felt she was throwing it away. I liked at the end, when they finally communicated. I understood her point a little more and he talked about how he was wrong and didn't realize he was treating her like a roommate and forgetting to do the special things that showed he loved her so it was all good in the end, but I just didn't feel she did anything but cry over it. It takes two I guess but I did love the epilogues. There were two but they were worth it. This is a first read for me author-wise and I will definitely be reading more.

I won’t lie. This one stings a bit. But it’s also oh so true to life. Johnny and Kiera appear to have it all. Great careers they love, teamwork, a marriage and partnership that their friends all envy. But the truth is that they’ve only got one of those things left. And it sure isn’t the stuff that makes them great and happy together. You see, they’re heading for divorce. Right after a momentous occasion for friends. But can they maybe reclaim the love they think they’ve lost during their last pretense at happiness?

The misery in both Kiera and Johnny bleeds off the pages. And I get exactly why Kiera is so miserable. Just about any woman can tell you how it feels to be taken for granted, even if their partner doesn’t mean to do it. So I immediately felt for her. But it’s not all cut and dry. Johnny makes me sad also. And yet, I have to like him a whole lot. He could take the easy out, but he’s not ready to do that. He’s got to find out how to fix this, and he’s going to try his hardest not to make it worse along the way. Even better, he and Kiera might find their way back to true communication and something stronger than they thought they’d broken before the end.

This series is unique in that every story can truly be read on its own. And while I love the whole series, this couple may be my favorite because they’re the story of what happens when the shine is gone, the comfort is far too comfy, and the things that matter most hit the back burner and then that burner is turned off by mistake. Johnny and Kiera aren’t just about doom and gloom. They’re also hope and determination to figure out how to move forward together. And I adored every emotional second of my time with them!

Looking for a book that will pull on your heartstrings? One that is full of emotions and captivating. Crave the Love is one book that will have you unable to put it down. This book will hit home for some as it is relatable, realistic and about the one thing that we all crave, love. Ms. Evans gives us two people that seem to have it all, a happy marriage that is full of love, but is it? Sometimes looks can be deceiving.
Kiera and Johnny seem to have the perfect marriage to all their friends but what they are showing is not how they are living. Going from a loving happy couple who had it all, the careers they wanted, the life they wanted to live to not feeling loved or the spark that they once had, is heartbreaking. Kiera asking for a divorce at the same time as their best friends announce their engagement has them faking it for a few more months. The months of faking it were the hardest for Johnny as he did not want to lose the love of his life but was having a hard time trying to find a way to fix his failing marriage. Could the week away for their friend's wedding put the spark back in their marriage? Johnny pulls out all the stops but will they work? Can he get Kiera to see that they can be the couple they once were? That he does love her more than his work? That she is the most important person and their marriage is the most important thing in his life. When the sparks return can it be the real thing?
This series has been one that I truly have loved reading, however, Crave the Love is one book that I will remember forever. The emotions that this book pulled from me and the heartbreak that I felt for Kiera and Johnny were, at times, hard to deal with. The reason for this is that Ms. Evans writes with such emotion and detail that you feel every emotion that the characters feel.
I highly recommend picking up Crave the Love however be prepared for a story full of emotions, heartbreak and the idea that true love prevails.

Crave the Love by A.K. Evans is Book 14 in the Road Trip Romance Series that features a different couple in each state. This NC installment is an emotional foray into the inner workings of a marriage in decline. Johnny and Kiera have always been that gold standard couple that their friends aspire to emulate, but no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. As both of them prioritized their growing careers, their marriage became less of a priority. When Kiera could no longer take not getting her needs met, she asked for a divorce. In ironic timing, they are asked to stand up for their friend in a destination wedding. Not wanting to ruin their friends’ happiness, they agree to pretend to be happy together until after the wedding. The problem is, underneath the frustration and pain, they still love each other. Will this trip be an exercise in torture, or is there hope for them after all?

Wow! Have your tissues ready for this one! This is a unique take on the second chance trope, and it was refreshingly realistic. The emotions were raw and beautifully portrayed, and the characters drew me in right away. My heart just went out to them as they struggled through this alone. I kept thinking maybe if they would just talk to a couple of their friends, they would help them get back on track quicker. The chemistry between them is electric, and when they are together the steam level is off the charts!! I liked the fact that this story shows that real life provides enough drama all by itself. This book was heartbreaking and healing all in one emotional rollercoaster ride. I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to read it.

I received an advanced review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Destroyed. My heart! Utterly wrecked! Do. Not. Miss. This. Story.

This is the most emotionally difficult story from this author I have ever read. Probably because the challenges Kiera and Johnny's marriage is facing is entirely too relatable. The raw emotion and crushing sadness of this couple's situation is tangible, and I admit to crying many times in this read.

I can honestly say that this is the most beautifully crafted story that I think I have ever read.
I always enjoy this author's works. They are relatable, engaging, addictive and give me "all the feels", but this one? I had to allow myself time to collect my thoughts after I finished it. It is just that good. After chapter two, I was a mess. At ten, the tissues were flying out of the box!

This author always pulls me (my heart) into these character's trauma and pain, and I cannot escape until I finish - so plan your time accordingly - it will probably happen to you too. :)
I always trust that, while she drags me into these heart-wrenching stories ... she will deliver me out the other side, with a Happy Ever After worthy of my emotions. This is why she is at the top of my list of favorite authors, who I routinely recommend to anyone who'll listen!

This is a stand-alone read, as all the Road Trip books are.
But know that her series have something for every reader.

I strongly encourage you to read this book, as I highly recommend it.
One hundred stars are not enough to express how much I love it.
I was fortunate to receive a free ARC of this book, and happily leave my review.

This is the fourteenth book in the series. Each book can be read as a standalone romance. Each book takes place in a different state. Beware this series isn’t about road trips. Lol. Johnny and Kiera were in love right from the start. They didn’t argue and were always so in tune with each other. Now eight years later things aren’t quite the same. They are still in love with each other but they aren’t doing the things the others need to know they are loved. Kiera has reached what she believes is the end and asked for a divorce. She could never have imagined in the midst of the conversation that some of their friends would come over and announce they are getting married and they would like Kiera and Johnny to be in the wedding. Not wanting to diminish their friend’s happiness they agree. Kiera and Johnny agree to wait till after the wedding to let everyone know. The couple go through the grommet of emotions during this time. But could the week away with friends acting like everything is okay be just what they need? They were always so good at communicating before until lately. Maybe this is just what will get them back on track. I really enjoyed this book. This couple takes us on a crazy emotional ride. Neither have fallen out of love but they have lost their way. Can they get back on track? I love this series and look forward to reading more in the future. Great job A.K. Evans.

Wow, this one was absolutely amazing and really shows the struggle that many couples face after being married for any length of time.
In the beginning Johnny and Kiera had it all and were the envy of all of their friends. But as time past by they became comfortable in their marriage and didn’t go the extra length to make one another feel loved the way they did in the early years and it took a toll on each of them.
Kiera couldn’t take it anymore and finally just wanted to stop feeling so miserable and told Johnny she wanted a divorce. Johnny was shocked! He knew things had changed but he didn’t think they had gotten so bad but he was wrong.

Being the perfect couple in their friends’ eyes, they decided to hide the divorce from them until after the wedding of 2 of their best friends but this meant spending a week together acting as nothing was wrong and that they were happily in love.

Spending a week together allows them to see what they have been missing and makes them both wonder if they can get back what they once had. They both never stopped loving each other but can they pick up the pieces of their shattered marriage and put it back together after all this time?

This began as a heartbreak but does give us an HEA!!!

Wow!!! I really had no idea what I was getting myself into when picking up this book. I definitely had other ideas of how the story would play out, however, the author took all of those ideas, set them on fire and threw them out the window! My heart was completely shattered while reading. Starting off right away with Kiera having told Johnny she wants a divorce was shocking even though I knew it was the main point of the story. What I wasn't prepared for was getting taken back in time to watch them fall in love only to experience life through their eyes as they slowly grew apart. And then, to have my heart ripped out watching how they both were suffering coming to terms with their relationship ending. I just wanted to grab them both and shake some sense into them when separately they were wanting to try to save their marriage but miscommunication, or lack of communication was keeping them apart longer. This book will take you on a ride of emotions. The writing was fabulous, the characters were so amazing and I connected with them so deeply. This book was definitely a must read.

Crave the love is the next installment in Evans' road trip series. It follows a married couple who've hit a rough patch. They've decided to divorce but agree to pretend for their friends are getting married soon. The engaged couple plan a getaway for the wedding party and friend group which is torture for Johnny and Kierra, mostly because they still love each other!

I struggled with this book a bit. There was clearly so much love between the couple. They, like so many of us, got busy with life and forgot to take care of each other. Instead of communicating and fighting for their marriage, Kierra decides to throw in the towel. There was no cheating, disrespect, etc, just a lot of giving up. Faking the togetherness and love for their friends helped them find it again. The story drug for me through all the chapters of just orbiting around each other when in fact, so many of us would love exactly they already had. I liked when they finally started talking and fighting for their love and the epilogues were the payoff we needed.

Crave the Love really messed with my emotions as our couple, Kiera & Johnny are getting divorced. The pain these two feel bleed through the pages of my kindle, and I wanted to cry for both of them. Their friends believe they have the perfect life, but no one knows what has been going on behind closed doors, and they're not planning to tell them until they get through the wedding of their closest friends. I know keeping things close to the vest takes a toll on people, and that means they are stuck in their world of misery without anyone to talk to but this wedding has them in very close proximity to keep up appearances, and maybe just maybe, it will be the best thing for them. I'm telling this story was so emotional that it did my heart in, because the way I see it, it's all fun & games until we get too comfortable with our significant other, and A.K. Evans did an amazing job with her realistic tone to this story so yeah, Crave the Love is my favorite to date in the Road Trip Romance series, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Crave the love (Road Trip Romance 14)

This is the fourteenth book in this amazing series, these books just get better the more you read, these books can be read as stand-alone reads as well as part of the series. This is the story of Kiera and Johnny, these two characters have a love-at-first-sight romance, and they have instant chemistry between them from the start. These two characters have fallen out of love and have lost their way but hopefully, they can find their way back together. This is an emotional read from start to finish with the storyline about the characters. This is an amazing read by this author and the perfect addition to this incredible series.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

Wow. Just by reading about them, Johnny and Kiera have the perfect love story that everyone wants. No fighting, affectionate, and always together. Even their relationship shows that perfection doesn't always last. Their relationship fell apart. Watching them live together alone for 6 months is brutal. No talking or really any kind of communication all leading to assumptions and hurt feelings. Throwing the two into close proximity in a romantic time and place with friends is interesting, considering they are trying to fake their way through their friends' wedding week. I loved the little things Johnny did for Kiera. They weren't major, but they were important. My heart was breaking right along side theirs with their confused feelings and stubbornness. I loved, though, that it wasn't instantaneous, even though it was within the week. I loved that this was a sweet loving couple, but sometimes sweet loving couples get lost and need to find their way.

There are so many strong words that could describe Crave the Love, emotional, captivating, mesmerising, but the one that stands out for me is SOUL, this book has a soul, Kiera and Johnny breathe life into every page, a couple that meets, fall in love, became the couple that all their friends wanted to be, they are married then a few years into the marriage that seemed perfect are not so perfect for Kiera, work has taken over their lives, and she believes there is only one answer, but not the one either of them wants, a week away with friends to prepare for a wedding is not what they wanted but it could just be the place that they can find their way back to each other on a trip of rediscovery and love.

This book tore me apart! I felt everything that Kiera and Johnny were feeling. My heart broke along when theirs did.
Johnny and Kiera met while on vacation at the beach. It was instant attraction for both of them. And they became the perfect couple… at least on the outside. Different aspects of the couples lives slowly pulled them apart until Kiera needed a break, and asked for a divorce. But neither of them was quite ready to give up.

I made the mistake of starting to read it in the middle of the day. I put everything on hold until I finished. I had to find out the ending. This story was so well written. There is a roller coaster of emotions the reader will be on through the story. I can’t tell you enough how good this story is. It is already is my reread pile!

Beautiful:
What a lovely story about reconciliation and second chances. It made for an interesting change where the main couple were already married but struggling in their relationship. I had been concerned that this book may be a bit morbid and a downer but I am pleased to report that I was wrong. It was emotional without becoming depressing and whilst it broke my heart, it also filled it up and put a smile on my face.
I was rooting for Kiera and Johnny and loved how real and authentic they both were. I was beyond overjoyed seeing them work things out and I thought the ending was just perfect.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

On the outside, everything seems perfect. But after being married for eight years, Johnny and Kiera decide to get divorced. But first, they will fulfill their duties as best man and maid of honor. And maybe this opportunity can make things right again.
This was a really emotional story to read. It is just as real life can go. After being married for a while, things can be taken for granted. Even when you don’t know you’re doing just that.
The sadness can be found on every page of this book, how they both are broken by what will come if they don’t turn things around.
It’s nice to read a story that show how things can go when not everything is bliss and joy after several years. But also how they will fight for what once was, and make it even better than before.

From the outside looking in Johnny and Kiera are living the life that those around them envy however they have grown apart and no one knows. Despite the fact that she still loves Johnny she doesn’t believe that what they shared can be salvaged however with their best friend’s engagement they agree to still be together so that they don’t affect the wedding.

When Johnny and Kiera find themselves spending a week together without the distractions of their normal life it will force them to remember the love they shared or realize that it is time to move forward with their lives alone.

Johnny and Kiera take us on an emotional journey as they reflect on their life together and must decide if what they have is worth fighting for.

Johnny & Keira

They met at the beach. Neither was looking for a relationship, however, they had an immediate connection. Their feelings grew. Their friends were delighted watching their love grow. Their life together has professional success for both of them. Yet life becomes more stressful. Will they deal with the life changes and maintain their relationship?

Their professional successes are at the expense of their personal life. How long will the marriage withstand the lack of attention? A wedding invitation comes at the worst time. Their decision to divorce.

Not wanting to ruin their friend's special day they decide to pretend all is well. Is it? Can it be?

This is the 14th book in this incredible series, and this is Johnny and Kiera’s story. These two are married, and from the outside they have the perfect marriage, but they are going though a rocky patch, which has them deciding on divorce. Before telling their friends their secret, they are going to stand up as best man and matron-of-hour, for their closest friends at their beach wedding. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster, with secrets, romance, humor, witty banter, heartbreak, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Love all of the road trip stories not only feature a different state, but also a a different love story. None of them have been the same. Johnny and Kiera’s story let us remember how they fell in love and sadly how life got in the way making Kiera think divorce was the only option. The last week of their arrangement kept us wondering how things could be made right. I mean, I don’t think I could handle an A.K. Evans love story without a HEA!! Thankfully that second chance is grasped!

The narrators are fantastic as these two always are! They have wonderful voices and being such emotion to their characters.

Oh man, I absolutely loved Johnny and Kiera's story. I especially loved that we get flashbacks into how thier relationship started and how it panned out over the years up until when they hit the rough patch which is the present. You can really feel the love between them and now you know why their friends think they're the gold standard. But now, they don't know that they're heading towards a divorce. Six months they have to pretend they're stil in love with each other. Can thier love really be over after 8 years of being together?

I liked the premies of this one. Taking the "forced proximity" "fake couple" trope and using it to get a couple back together instead of together for the first time. But I didn't feel like the story capitalized on that idea enough. The characters continued to flail around and misunderstand one another then finally talked to one another and fixed it all in one conversation. Too slow then too fast.

Preferences about sex scenes and relationship dynamics are really individual and other readers might love the way these two were with each other, but it wasn't for me.

Johnny and Kiera’s went straight to my heart. I think reality shows two people not falling out of love rather falling apart to where there seems to be a chasm that you get hurdle over easier. Yet their story shows it is possible and restored some faith that things can work out for you if you try.
This is a story of true love splitting apart on a path and discovering the paths can wander again into one.

Kierra and Johnny broke my heart and then put it back together. Their love for each other was undeniable, even at their lowest. This was a perfect story to remind us all that just because you got the HEA, doesn’t mean you get to keep it. If you want it you have to work for it. I’m so glad Johnny and Kierra didn’t give up in the end, and ended up even happier than before. Listened to on Audible and must say the narrators were absolutely perfect for this story and characters.

Johnny and Kiera’s love came easily. They met at a beach while he saved her from a flyaway beach umbrella. They learned that they lived in the towns next to each other. They never got into any fights until one day Kiera decides that they can’t keep on living the way they were, with both of them not trying anymore. For the sake of their friend’s wedding they decided they would start their divorce then. While away for their friends wedding they started talking about the things that went wrong and that they wanted to try and save their marriage since they both still loved each other.

In a book that could hit home for many readers, I could not put it down. Kiera and Johnny can be any of us, a marriage perfect on the outside but on shaky ground behind closed doors as life gets in the way of their love. Can another wedding bring them back together? Keep the tissues near, and guard your heart. A beautiful read.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Saving her from a flying umbrella to dating engaged and then married. Building careers but then getting so caught up and not realizing you lost that spark. omg I cried. Then, to technically separate but stay together for your best friends man long six months. But the fact you both still loved each other i had hoped you would find your way back. You sure did, and it was better than ever, and finally, having your first child!

This book was the first book to make me emotional in over a year! The angst , pain & heart break of the characters is a living breathing entity in this book. You feel it from both of the equally. The emotions are some of the most well written word I have read. The character & settings have true depth, that really bring the book alive.
