To earn money for his grandson's medical care, Hiraga Raizou signed up with a secret government organization of assassins. He's partnered up with a child-aged killer, Suzukaze Miharu, to take down the bad guys out of the law's reach. One criminal is at the top of Miharu's hit list, Musou Saburo, the crime kingpin of The Great Chain. He murdered her family and Miharu won't put away her guns until every link of his crime empire is destroyed! With Raizou's help, these two will tear through the Japan's criminal underworld!
This is definitely a dark series that isn’t going to work for everyone, but for some reason I’m enjoying it. It took me forever to get to this volume after I read the first volume but the wait paid off. The character development and the commentary on the importance of family was both interesting and well done. This ended on a more cliff hanger so I’ll be checking out the third volume from my library soon.
I really love how dark this gets. This poor child assassin really has issues but the fight scenes are both quickly paced, really bloody at times, and brutal. I have to give props to the artist, they sure know how to do a good action scene. I also like the relationship between the two main leads, as he's almost a grandpa/father figure to the girl. I really dislike the unneeded panty shots, but this is Japan, and it won't stop. That much I can count on.
Fantastic read. Nice artwork, good character dynamics, great action sequences, personal touch. Altogether it's a great read. I will continue with the series.
Gets better and better! I like the back stories, especially the slow way Miharu’s background is going. I enjoy her mysterious grooming as an assassin and look forward to when it’s revealed.
