Read all four. I rated it 4 stars because I’m sure many will love them. There continued to be editing errors throughout but not bad. They were an enjoyable light read, even though it was sometimes unbelievable how Mela moves to Bay Harbor and then her three children who she hardly saw all decided they wanted to live there too and bought houses all in a row. Then she discovered an Aunt, a grandfather and a step sister, she didn’t know about. Her long time friend owned up to who Bennett’s father was, and it was happy families there too. Book four was even more over the top with sweetness and everything falling into place and them all becoming rich. Throughout all the books pies and cakes ruled! Though I don’t believe anyone really bakes that many pies everyday. But even that had a great outcome!! The one part I didn’t like was Kitty, who had never married or dealt with pregnancy, guessing that Kimmie was pregnant and pointing out to Mela, who’d had 3 children (Kimmie being one) but hadn’t seen the signs, and then making Kimmie fess up to being pregnant! And Travis wasn’t even there! That whole part was awful in my opinion. It’s up to the couple to tell when they are ready. However I’m not sorry I read them, as it was for the most part a good summer read.
Sisley, Lovie, and Bennett Make Three! 4.35***** Spoiler Alert
Martin's(Mela's and Kitty's candied apple granddad) demise gave Kitty the freedom to swap his candy shop/cottage in Beach Cove for a cozy cottage with furniture in Bar Harbor as she remade Sisley wedding gown into a masterpiece; plus her hats became vogue again. On the other hand, Kimmie, and Travis are expecting another kid to play with Pippa and another marriage is in their future. Sisley and Bennett tied the knot, Sunny now ran and lived in the bakery / Bistro at the remodeled mill, with a crew to assist her, while the baking contest ended up with two winners, excluding Amelie's. Sisley 's art show was a success as Mrs. Piper, who fired the #MeToo villian, purchased three paintings setting off the rush on her art pieces. The refurbished Libray became the venue for the town and it's surroundings. The road between Bar Harbor and Beach Cove needs to be repaired to avert a tragic accident that could mar Bar Harbor's future economic growth. HEA for all. A Satisfying-Read!
Another beautiful, moving story in this amazing series!! It was so lovely to learn more about Kitty especially. She really struggles in the beginning of the book, finding herself in a situation where she basically needs to start over from scratch late in life. Find a place for herself in a new town, a new family… She is an inspiring, complex character, and I loved her introspective side and the courage with which she tackles the challenges she faces. Kitty has not had the easiest life, and my heart ached for her as she was confronted with her past and how it shaped her life in some ways. Of course we also get to see how Mela and her children and (found) family are faring, which was absolutely wonderful. A couple of touching surprises there too :-) Very heartwarming and uplifting. There are also some fun visits to Beach Cove, with great cameo’s! Loved those so much!! Each time I read a book in this series, I’m left smiling and also a tiny little bit heartbroken that I can’t actually visit Bay Harbor and its amazing people. Absolutely recommend this series.
I loved this series. The characters are wonderful and the story lines are heartfelt. The only problem I had was, and it happens in a lot of series that I have loved,is that the author throws so much at you in the final edition that you have to try and keep everything that is happening straight in your readers mind. I now have to go back and see where The other series begins. Enjoy!
Well, again, another great read. Can't wait to read the last book. It snowed outside my window today as I curled up in the chair by the fire as I finished the book. I took time to make a chicken pot pie to have for supper, as reading about all the cooking made me hungry lol. I'll have cream with berries later, put on my jammies and start the last book. I try to read slow as to savor every word, its that good. A feel good read. Enjoy you all 😊.
I read all four in the series. A nice and light read. If you’re looking for a “feel good” series where everything just works out right…then this is the series for you. I have it four stars because by the end there were so many characters I sometimes had trouble knowing who they were. Not main characters but extras…who are in another series which I’m assuming is why they are introduced in this series.
I waited until I had read the last book In the series to write a review. In discovering a new author I also discovered Many new friends at Bay Harbor. This is absolutely, absolutely one of the best storytellers I have read, with characters you love and want to know. I wanna live there! I read the first book and immediately started the next one, and the next, then the last! I believe I will start the next series! Wonderful beach or anytime read!
Wow!! I loved the series!! It was so refreshing to read a series that didn't have any murders to solve. I have to say though that I kept waiting for something bad to happen.... It's not often that I read a series like this. It was full of happiness, beautiful settings, loveable characters, believable storylines, and love 💜
It was a pleasure to lose myself in this heartwarming story line. I always enjoy a story with a happy ending. Hard work, good family and friends, and a beautiful setting tends to cheer me up, although I must admit that I don't personally know people who seem to live a charmed life. Still a good beach read.
Mela never could have guessed that her return to Bay Harbor would bring about so many changes. Her children all plan to join her, she finds an aunt and a sister she never knew about and a Grandfather. This series has been so enjoyable because of the colorful characters and the loving relationships.
I loved each book in this series. I had previously read Beach cove home and love how it carried into seaside ties, Bay Harbor. I strongly recommend reading both series, they do not disappoint! Nellie Brooks writes wonderful stories.
Such a beautiful family whether by genetics or choice. It was really heartwarming and I am ready to move to Maine and find this town and all the love it offers!
The entire four book series is about family, friends and living with change and growth. My main question is if there's a collection of recipes go with the series...PLEASE!!!
Excellent! I love all of the characters and their backstories. All I need is a beach and these would be excellent beach reads. I didn’t think I could ever read a four book series all at once, but these proved me wrong.
I had so much fun reading this series. I can almost smell the flowers, see the bees, feel the sunlight from the ocean, and bask in the love of all of the wonderful characters.
What a great read. Everyone is happy and all children are content with the love of their lives! Martin never made the wedding but I'm certain he's watching over his great granddaughter and saying well done my sweet child.
I really enjoyed this series. They were a lighthearted, easy read that showcased the love of family and starting over. Highly recommended for a quick, feel good series.
I have absolutely loved reading this series of books set in Maine. They’ve been a cozy read before bedtime, and I’m going to miss the characters and the beach setting.
While it may be mostly predictable, it's so endearing that I just love it. I'm a world where most things are downer, reading this book is a nice reprieve from reality.
I am sorry to see this series end. All the characters seem to be people you'd like to have a neighbors. It did seem a bit rushed toward the end--like the author was trying to get loose ends tied up in the fewest possible pages.
This was a very nice, flow-y series. They are light reads, but thoroughly enjoyable. Perfect for a beach or when you don't want to have to think too hard.
Book 4 sees the town being turned upside down and Mela's family growing....interesting and still enjoying it. I like these light reads to break up my Murder and Serial Killer thrillers....these were all free on Kindle so now I will take a break with some new books.
I very much enjoyed this last book in the Bay Harbor Beach series. The lives of this family are working out in a way that everyone is pursuing their dreams. A real feel good ending!
