Fated mates find themselves drawn into a web of lies and deceit. Can they find the answers and protect those closest to them when danger lurks in the most unlikely of places?

Seeking answers to his sister’s disappearance two years before, FBI Special Agent Magnus Fallows will use all of the resources at his disposal. That includes Thalassa Security. Getting off on the wrong foot with the Thalassa family, Magnus struggles to figure out if there is anything the elusive Kelvin Thalassa is keeping from him.

For Kelvin Thalassa being in the field isn’t his area of expertise, yet he’ll do anything to find the answers and protect his growing family. Trust is becoming difficult, so Kelvin goes to a man who has had no issue pushing for answers─Agent Fallows. The last thing he expects is to find out that Magnus is his fated mate.

The search for Big Foot leads right back to an old nemesis: Andromeda. The battle is on to stop the heinous acts that have been happening right under the noses of the shifter council.

Kelvin #5 is a paranormal gay romance with a protective leopard who will stop at nothing to uncover the truth and a Kraken who learns strength comes in many forms. This is the fifth and final book in the Tangled Tentacles Series. HEA is guaranteed, and the Epilogue will hint at what is to come in the future for these two authors.

Where does one start with about what I do?
I’m a writer, but I’m sure you guessed that by now if you’re reading this, hey? What you might not know is I’m a little quirky, live in my pj’s most of the time and have cake Saturdays with my sisters every week. I dedicate a little of my time to taking care of my grandbabies and on the dedicated writing days I like to write an eclectic mix of romance, suspense and paranormal fantasy. In the main I’ve written gay romance but I’m branching out under another the pen name in the future, so watch this space.
I’ve a passion for books like you would not believe and it led me down this path and now I’ve over 29 books released and heading towards releasing a whole lot more. The way my head is I never know where I’ll be headed next. I hope you’ll find a little joy in my words and follow me to see where the journey takes me and you.
If you’re interested at some point in 2021 I’ll be writing under the name JP Paton which will be F/M crime and Fantasy two of my favourite things. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled 

This series is cheesy asf but somehow highly addictive. This one was sweet and insta-love even considering they'd had some time talking on the phone but never seeing each other.

Honestly though, the best part was Marvin and the only reason I started reading this series. I'd bought Marvin and decided after a few pages I couldn't read it without reading this series first. It makes a lot more sense now. Marvin is everything 🥰

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️'s for Marvin.

We've finally made it to the very last Kraken brother to find his fated! I'm sad because I've really enjoyed this entire series, but I'm also excited about what's in store for us next from these two fabulous authors. Fortunately, there's a little sneaky sneak in the back of this one to tide us all over for what is to come. But this review is about Kelvin and his fated mate, whom I am sure you are all aware by now we have met before and he didn't exactly make a great first impression on the brothers. Add into the fact that the family is already somewhat divided over Markov and his mate Cassius, you can see how Kelvin would be hesitant to bring his new man around the family. I'm looking at you Victor and Alexi.

Magnus, aka Mr. FBI guy, was very different from what I was expecting. Yes he can be gruff and abrasive, but his heart was in the right place. The man lost his beloved sister to the disgusting paranormal trafficker organization so you can say he is a bit overzealous in his need to end them once and for all. Kelvin, sweet man that he is, didn't spend a moment questioning fates decision for him. Magnus was his and that made Kelvin's work on the case even more important. These two were probably the quickest to bond if memory serves me right. No unnecessary drama, just thankfulness for fate giving them their one. It was a nice change of pace.

Major headway is made on the series long case and we finally find out the reason behind all the horrible things that have been going on. There are still some minor players on the board so I'm pretty positive this will be explored further. We also meet some new characters, one of whom is just the sweetest cinnamon roll ever. Marvin definitely stole my heart and I cannot wait to see more of him in the future *wink wink*.

Magnus Fallows is an FBI agent who investigates the unusual. His first meeting with the Thalassa Corporation wasn’t his finest moment, but, in his defense, he had a personal connection to the case he was investigating, and emotions were running on overdrive. Magnus hadn’t met all the brothers, but they had conversed. Meanwhile, at Thalassa, there’s a rift in the family. Needing to escape the toxic environment, Kelvin decides to see Magnus in person with the information the man had requested. The minute Kelvin stepped out of the car, the men realized they were fated mates. Their meeting, and subsequent search for bigfoot, also starts a chain of events that concludes the case that began in book one.
This story is the fifth and final book in the Tangled Tentacles series, though I hope this band of stunning Thalassa brothers and their mates pop up in future ventures (hint, hint, to the authors – on knees, pleeeeeeease). I am really going to miss these boys, and consider the series one of the best I’ve ever read.
The story is told in the third person from the viewpoint of Kelvin and Magnus. Worldbuilding began in book one and continues here. So, I have a hell-of-a picture in my head, which the scene-setting enhanced. Family ups, downs, births, etc., also have further developments. While I am generally not one for stories containing many babies/children, these little ones are cute. They’re different. We’re not talking little redheads with lollipops – we’re talking baby sharks, bears and other animals. I couldn’t help smiling when they took up page space, especially how their doting parents talked macho strategies while patiently dealing with a little one. It’s the ultimate in family dynamics – and the whole family and their mates are needed to thwart the evil lurking.
Kelvin is the accountant. He likes everything to add up; if they don’t, he digs deep. He’s a Kraken, and like his brothers, has a strong protective streak. Not that Magnus needs protecting. Between them, they make the best of what they have, and use a language the Thalassa brothers understand to encourage them to remove the sticks up their asses.
I can’t give enough praise for how this story comes together—shout-out here for Marvin (love, love, loved him). There isn’t a link missed, or opportunity ignored to stick it to the right people. Everything is cleverly tied up with a bow, yet the epilogue held the promise of a new spin-off series dealing with an area that could be equally as exciting. I’ll admit when I read it - I did a little happy jig.
This novel contains everything - melt-the-heart moments, hot and steamy, intelligent investigations, Sherlock-style revelations, macho action, and some erroneous planning that caused some fabulous reading. And the cherry on the top is that - we may see some cameos by the Thalassa corporation in the future. I’m a very happy bunny.

I'm so sad that this is the last book that we're getting that features the Thalassa brothers, I'm going to miss them and their antics.

For the last and final book we finally get Kelvin's story, and his mate Magnus who is the FBI agent they've been corresponding with. Magnus irritates Kelvin, he's demanding, rude, and arrogant. When these two meet in person, all of those feelings go away. They find out they're mates as soon as they see each other, from there they continue on the journey on trying to figure out who's behind all of the shifter abductions and killings. We get more information, more clues, and even more secrets that come out in the open.

I for one, love the mystery component that is the main overarching plot that continues through each of these books. It's so well written that I can't even predict what is going to happen next. But I'm so excited to find out more, once I start reading one of these books I can't put them down. And I needed to know who was behind it all.

*Spoiler* we finally get to know who was behind it all, and why.

Just like with the previous books this is well written, has excellent characters, great background detail, and wonderful pacing. I love getting introduced to all the new characters that get brought into the story, they all add something to the overall storyline. They are there for a reason. I love, love, loved Marvin! I really hope he's going to get his own story at some point, he deserves it. Plus, he really intrigues me. I'm really looking forward to what's coming next by these two authors, I'm hoping we can still see and catch glimpses of the Thalassa brothers.

Overall a really excellent way to end a fantastic series, plus I think this book has even more tentacles.

*I received an early copy of this book and this is my honest review.*

Kelvin is my favorite brother

I don't know how I feel about this book. It feels lazy by the authors. They have introduced so much conspiracy, intrigue, machinations, and corruption at the highest level of shifter culture; only to end with a "well, here is the evidence, there is your main bad guy, ooo looks like a bunch of you were a part of it! Good luck!" And it just ends.

Kelvin the character has been an interesting shadow character in the other books who finally gets his moment. He and Magnus are fun and should be typical of what fated meetings should look like, no hesitation, instant claiming.

Marvin is amazing! Loved his character!

Hated the epilogue as it had nothing to do with the Thalasas brothers. Looks like someone is writing a new series with the boys that were kidnapped. I genuinely will not read that as every story will most likely be the same type of story; dark, terrifying past with a happy ending. No thanks.

Have fun!

M.A.G.N.I.F.I.C.E.N.T.!!!!

Book #5 in the TANGLED TENTACLES SERIES. Straight up MAGNIFICENT. LISA OLIVER and JP SAYLE have independent writing catalogues of their own. When these two beautiful spirits write together, it's pure MAGIC. Kelvin, the family accountant is trying to help solve the crimes his family has uncovered. Magnus has been working remotely with him. Having never met they didn't know what was coming. This is the book that brings the conclusion to this mystery. All the Brothers and their Mates are together for Christmas. This Book is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS TANGLED TENTACLES SERIES!!!!!!!!!!

The mystery is solved, the brothers are all mated and we witness the pitter-patter splash of even more offspring for the Thalassa brothers and this time it's Kelvin who finds and connects with his mate and finally gets a chance to do some legwork on the long running plot thread that has kept me coming back for more every book...

This one is an instant connect and almost instantaneous fit, despite the long history of animosity and tension... the romance is sweet and steamy, but the true meat in this story lies in what (and who) the two men uncover and how all the pieces fit together to solve the mystery portion of the book.

I'm also loving the tease of the spin-off series and I'm hoping we get the first book with Marvin's story soon! This book needs to be read in order to understand the thread of continuity from first to last in the series.

Kelvin is the fifth and final book in the MM Fated Mates, Tangled Tentacles series. Freakin fantastic!! We finally get the ending with the mystery of who’s been taking the shifter and children and are introduced to a new spinoff series, which I’m sooo excited to read!! FBI Special Agent Magnus Fallows has been looking for his missing sister for two long years. He takes time off work to work on her case. Kelvin Thalassa is an accountant; he doesn’t do field work. When he shows up at Magnus’s home, they realize they’re fated mated. I didn’t see the insta-love coming! They go searching for Bigfoot and find him! The whole family helps to take down the bag guys!! This was an amazing read; we get more babies and an exciting new character to love!!! I seriously loved the found family and fated mated. Overall, a phenomenal ending to the series. Well written with pacing that hooked me and kept me reading well into the night!! Highly recommend!

Kelvin neatly wraps up the running storyline of the series whilst also giving a spin off that I'm super excited about!
I adored Kelvin and Manugs together, especially since they didn't fight or delay their mating. They each put the other first, communicated, and valued the others abilities.
Marvin though, he stole the show!
All the previous character feature heavily and as this is the finale of the Tangled Tentacles series, it should be read in order.
I have honestly love the entire series and it's one I would re-read for sure

KELVIN is the final book in the Tangled Tentacles series and brings to a close this amazing series. Kelvin and Magnus (or FBI Guy) finally meet in person and realise they are fated mates. No fuss, no panic, just straight-up acceptance and happiness. I loved that, I really did. They don't allow their new bond to stand in the way of those they are trying to help though. By searching for others, they find Marvin. Be prepared for your heart to melt!

Wow! Just... wow!!! That's how I felt after I'd finished reading this. The overlying arc, the one that I've followed since Alexi, is now finished - in a way I never saw coming and that I love even more for that. All of the mates and their partners feature in this book which also helped with the general feeling of closure. There is also one moment in there that made my eyes leak. It's when Magnus is remembering his sister, with Kelvin by his side in the pool. There were a few scenes or sentences (usually by Marvin) that made me fill up. That scene? Broke me down. So emotional and perfect.

What I can't wait for, though, is the continuation. That epilogue!!! Man, it about killed me. I NEED MORE!!!

This pair of authors are simply outstanding - writing unusual and intricate stories with a skill second to none. I have loved the whole series and HIGHLY RECOMMEND every single one of them. What a way to end this series and to still leave you wanting more!

I'm thinking this is a me not the book thing. This was rough for me to get through. I just wasn't feeling Magnus and Kelvin's connection at all. Also I got annoyed with the many times "niggling" or "missing something" was used. That's a little picky of me I know. There were several other bigger things that also bugged me.

Like even if the council members didn't question where the trainees came from they were still children. So basically they had no problem traumatizing them with the violent physical and mental training needed to be an assassin. But drew the line at experimentation? What did they think the labs and equipment was for when they did their inspections? Decoration?

Krakens are supposed to stay in hiding for safety. But Kelvin uses his tentacles to peel off the roof of council room. Nobody says anything about seeing tentacles from a supposed mythical creature. Magnus saw them so surely they saw them too. No one questioned it.

How did Ryujin Urt manage to avoid any and all reflective surfaces for centuries? Did he even avoid rainy days and the mirror like puddles on the ground?

I still don't understand why Riley was returned to Cassius. I must have missed the reason somewhere between the previous book and this one. If anyone can explain it to me it would be appreciated.

Even though this book wasn't great to me I will still read the next one because it's Marvin's book. I adored Marvin.

All I have to say is : Marvin 🤌

Also I really like the MCs and the lack of relationship drama and ups and downs in this one!

This is my favourite one of the series 😊

I'm so happy the audiobook came out so I can reread it with my ears!

Ok, I have mixed feelings about this book.
I liked both main leads their story was interesting, I loved Marvin and with that epilogue I'm looking forward to the next series....
But, when it comes to the rest of the story I was disappointed... There were some things that didn't make sense I don't know if more will be explained in the next series but as this book was the conclusion of this series it left much to be desired... Though the one thing that I could not understand the most was Riley, his appearance doesn't make sense. When he appeared in Markov's book I had come up with different theories about who had him and why they kept him safe and them returned him to his father... When we start finding some more new information in this book my theory started to change... At first I thought that maybe there was some secret organization working against Andromeda but then we're told that he was kept in one of the facilities that belonged to Andromeda's organization so I then thought that maybe there was someone who was working against Andromeda and wanted him gone but no, the other boss was Andromeda's son... So, why did he hire people to raise Ryan properly, keeping him healthy not only physically but also mentally and then when Markov and Cassius kill his mother and destroy the ship, with all the research that he also wanted, he then proceeds to return Cassius' son to him with a note saying good job?
Why? It doesn't make sense... The organization had no regards for shifters, they treated them as things to be sold, experimented on and then killed to use the parts... So why did they treat Riley well?
I can't stop thinking about it... I do hope there's an answer to that in the next series but I thought that at least Cassius would wonder too, but nothing... And I don't get WHY...

I love this series.

Binge-reading/listening to them. Seriously you would not be able to tell two authors have written this book, as it seems so well written. I would highly recommend it.

Kelvin finally gets his mate, Agent Magnus, from the FBI. Magnus's sister was taken two years ago, and he still needs answers; Kelvin can provide those answers.
Always start with a sad story, but it is well worth staying until the end. The story was great and kept me involved throughout. I would recommend it to anyone who likes shifter romance.

The narration by Kevin Earlywine was on-point; his different voices made it easy to follow the story. I did speed up the audio to 1.25 on audible, which is typical for me.

3.5 stars - This was a good ending for a mediocre series. I really liked the couple and that they didn't have any relationship problems, I liked the new side character and I liked getting answers and having a bit more plot. Though the clue that led them to the big baddie was a bit too obvious and had me rolling my eyes.

I liked Marvin and am considering continuing with the spin-off series beginning with Marvin. Even though this series is not that good, the instalments are short and easy reads and entertaining enough.

Kelvin

This was an amazing conclusion to the series and taster of what is to come in the spin off. Kelvin and Magnus are great together and I really like how there was no conflict with their relationship. A lot of answers in this book as well as questions going forward. Some hard moments that brought the feels. Great to see all the couple in this one and the star of the book - Marvin. He is a treasure and I can’t wait for more from him. Hopefully with cameos from the kraken gang.

Loved this Series

I have to say that I'm not a big review writer for ebooks since I tend to listen to the audiobooks moreso than actually reading. However, I really enjoyed this series. I love all of Lisa Oliver's books as they tend to be comfort reads that I relisten to several times. I'm also glad to add JP Sayle to my list of authors that I follow. Anyway, this book as well as the rest of the series was a great read. I can't wait to read the 1st book in the spinoff of this series.

Magnus has turned away from Kelvin for years. Well, the reason finally is revealed and boy, will you not expect it. As these two work through their past, focus on their mating, and try to figure out what is happening now, you will be on a crazy ride. But the two authors have this amazing ability to know when to provide a little humor, how much angst you can handle, and the humor that makes it all worth it.

Now, can we discuss a few more in this world? I just need more :)

I love this family!

I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of these books! This family of kraken brothers has created their own full and welcoming family and are still trying to save those who have been wronged by the system. The final piece of the puzzle is laid bare and justice will be served. And with sweet sweet babies and magical krakens with their mates.

Great

I usually dislike collaborations, but these two have written a great series that was full of angst, thriller, and paranormal romance.

It's thoroughly worth buying or downloading all of them to read one after the other.

This is a complete series with an epilogue that introduces a new series and, hopefully, some happiness and beauty to Marvin's life.

He is the last brother who has not found his mate. When tensions are high among the brothers, he decides to go on a road trip to meet the stuffy agent. Upon their first meeting, they uncover that many things are more complex than they initially appeared, and that the council's operations are not entirely straightforward. A brother is expecting a baby at a very special time.

Great read!

This was the 5th book in the series. The last brother and definitely an amazing story.

I really enjoy this series and how it is written. The characters are all so well done that it is seemless moving from one book to the next.

I hope that the series keeps going.

Kraken + jaguar shifter FBI agent. The whole big foot storyline was fun (if a little disturbing, but we've already come this far so we really should know what to expect). Not a lot of new stuff happens in this book, but it wraps things up nicely, if a bit quickly.
