It’s in black and white beneath his yearbook photo for all to see. Tyler All-American jock, prom king, and our very own hometown hero.
A triple threat.
He was the most popular guy in school, getting whatever—and whoever—handed to him on a silver platter.
Even though we ran in similar circles and had most of our classes together, I was invisible to him. Not once was I ever his flavor of the week.
Not that I wanted to be.
Nope, not at all.
I mean, who would want his big, strong hands caressing their body or his green eyes piercing straight into their soul?
Ten years have passed, and my childhood crush has mostly dwindled. Sure, he still crosses my mind sometimes—usually at night—but hardly a blip on my radar.
Until I find myself working as his personal assistant.
I spent years being invisible to this would-be god. I’d like to see him ignore me now.
Only, we’re constantly at war. Nothing good ever comes from wanting your boss. There’s a fine line between love and hate, and we’re dancing precariously close to the edge.
Reading is a passion of mine. My love for the written word was rekindled a few years ago, and it's been a blessing to discover everything that is out there. I love a good romantic book, one filled with swoon-worthy heroes and the women who drive them crazy. There aren't too many genres I won't read (sorry horror and scary stories, you still give me nightmares). As long as it drags me into the world to live alongside the characters, I want it!
I've been married since December 2000 to my best friend. Yes we were young, yes people thought I was crazy, but when you know, you know. We had one of those insta-love relationships where we fell hard and never looked back. We have 4 beautiful daughters who drive us a little batty but we still love them!
Ever since I was little, I dabbled in writing, starting with Fanfic of Sweet Valley High (Yes, Jessica and Elizabeth needed some new adventures). In Seventh Grade my teacher submitted a poem I wrote to a national contest and was published in an anthology. I was afraid to turn it in because I never thought I had a chance and yet, it was picked. Writing stories had always been an escape of mine, something to lose myself into or rewrite a bad experience I had to give it a better outcome. There's a little bit of me put into my books so I'm always emotionally attached to them.
I'm not sure why this book has such a high rate as for me the female lead is nothing but immature, judgemental hypocrite selfish and realllly self absorbed. From he first cheapter I couldn't connect with her at all. Spoiler or maybe not.... as apparently most authors think this is something their books should have
The h is going for an interview ok...and of course she's not the only one there. The problem is,she says we shouldn't judge a book by the cover but that's exactly what she does with the other woman there. Sluty dress and"blonde" attitude? Wtf is that? And being a total bitch when a girl tries are best to make small conversation? And she's over qualified for that position but forgetting that in a business world you do address to your boss by their surname? He is an arrogant because his employees were respectful and using his surname when they talked about him?
She is so not like other girls but dreaming non stop and preying that he will fuck her even out of petty?! Yeah right...not like the "sluts" from college lol ...are you sure about that?
He is a manwhore because he liked to take advantage of his college life but she's a Saint because he didn't pay her attention? Girl no wonder you gotten cheat on ( not that I approve cheating but this girl is sooooo full of herself that made me throw up in my mouth)
Why hate him so much just because he didn't wanted to fuck you or paid you any attention? Dose the world spen around her and everyone should worshipper her self absorbed narcissistic persona? If high school is over, why dose she has same immaturity and toxic teenagers drama around her?
He did absolutely nothing when she bumped into him,but he is an arrogant for not throwing himself at her feet and claiming she's the most beautiful woman on this planet?
She was 0 knowledge what a work environment is,she was rude, entitled and just disquieting at how obvious she just wanted to be fucked by him. Oh and the jealous acts? What was that about? Hypocrite much?
There was something her best friend said and suits the female lead perfectly ( even though they try so hard to make the man lead looking like an ass,all they did was pointing out how much of a phyco female lead was.
“Fuck the losers who can’t move on from high school"
I don't recommend this book unless you are into woman shaming other woman. Slut shaming a woman for fucking the man that doesn't even gives her attention.
Ah I forgot this After he fucks her, same like he fucked all the other woman, he is the best.not a manwhore anymore because now he finally got a phyco narcissistic bitch as a slut for all his life. The end. Double standards and equality and mature healthy relationship??? Go read another book. Even a dark romance i bet has more of that then this book.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review. This was my first time reading this author and I really enjoyed this story. It is a forbidden type or romance but also is a second chance romance, has a secret identity, is a romance at work, includes a little stripping and also features a high school bully.
This is a new author for me, so I was not sure what to expect. There were things I really loved about the story and things I did not. the things I liked far outweighed the things that didn't, and I found this an engrossing romance.
This is the story of Maysen who is living with a friend and is jobless and homeless when the book begins. All her luck changes when she gets hired until she finds out that her old high school nemesis/bully, Tyler is her new boss.
Tyler is the worst boss ever and she hates him when the book begins. But he actually appreciates her and treats her pretty well as a boss. But he also does not recognize her from high school.
One of the things I did not like about Tyler was that he takes advantage of this woman at work who provides shall we say "benefits" every week. He thinks she is the W word, but he still has weekly sexdates with her while he is in his office. I found this icky, though when he takes up with Maysen, I was glad to see this no longer happens.
Maysen has an awesome roommate and friend who is a stripper. The stripper friend takes up with a friend of Tylers. And sometimes Tyler takes employees to this strip club. And sometimes Maysen performs in disguise. The whole strip club scenes were also gross. I loved the roomie, and I had no problem with her stripping but the bringing clients there and the whole boyfriend who was once a client thing did not work for me.
The things I loved about this story was how into Maysen Tyler becomes when he finally remembers her. I also loved how much he respected her and saw how smart she was at her job. I also loved how strong a character Maysen was and I loved how in charge she was with Tyler. She knew her worth, and she made him give her the respect that she deserved.
"Ten years later, I'm still harboring a secret crush on him."
Maysen James is just about at rock bottom - kicked out of her ex's apartment and now sleeping on her best friend's couch. She applies for a job that she's overqualified for, but she just needs an in so she can get her ambitions back on track. When she gets the position, she's shocked to find out that her boss is none other than Tyler Cannon AKA Mr Irresistible - the guy she had a major crush on in high school. Even though they ran in the same circles, the popular jock never looked twice at the nerdy cheerleader. Now, he doesn't even recognise her, making her feel as invisible as always to him, except for the way he tests the limits of her patience with his unreasonable demands - living up to his rep of being the toughest boss in the company. When he finally finds out exactly who she is, all bets are off because Tyler is no longer the guy that Maysen thinks he is.
"All I want is for this kiss never to end. It's hot and passionate like fire and ice. Angry and intense. It's the most alive I've felt in years. Possibly ever."
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I struggled to put it down because I became invested in the story really quickly. Maysen was at first stoic, then feisty - a real ballbuster - even though when it came to Tyler, she was the same insecure teenager that she'd been in high school. He was so much more than his a-hole persona. Even though he acted way out of character when it came to Maysen, there was no denying that he was thoughtful and caring and demonstrated in so many ways how he felt about her. Their chemistry was hot, hot, hot! The only aspect that irritated me was Maysen's determination to see Tyler as he was back in high school, rather than the man he'd become and clearly changed for her. However, I loved how her friends pulled her up on her behaviour. This was such a fab read and I plan to read more by this author.
I started this book and did not put it down until I finished it a few hours later!
If you are a fan of enemies to lovers, workplace romances, alpha-hole billionaire bosses, a little bit of second chance love.. then you absolutely have to read this one! 📖
⬇️ Read below for my thoughts! ⬇️
Maysen James will never forget how Tyler Cannon made her feel in high school. How he would look right past her. Never paying any attention to the girl who was crazy about him.
Now.. Tyler Cannon is THE definition of grumpy billionaire boss. He’s arrogant and cocky… and also Maysen’s new boss.
He really puts Maysen to the test when she starts the job and the worst part is.. he doesn’t recognize her. Not until one of his friends runs into her and reminds him of who she is. Tyler has this alpha exterior but a side that Maysen brings out in him that is swoooon worthy.
He tried to fight the feelings, but he couldn’t get over the thoughts he has about Maysen. How he wants to take care of her and protect her. She had been hurt in the past and was skeptical of Tyler’s former playboy ways, but the way he was so truly committed to her was heart warming.
Their banter and back-and-forth with each other made me laugh out loud! They had a chemistry that was off the charts! Maysen also had some really great character growth and development through this story and I loved to see it!!!
This is a book I could 1000% see myself reading again! Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Spice: 🌶🌶🌶

Maysen is going through a bad time in her life, but things are starting to look up when she gets a new job. However, it turns out that she's to work for Tyler Cannon, the boy she had a secret thing for in high school despite the fact there was bullying on his part, so it's not quite what she was expecting. To make matters worse, he doesn't recognize her but one of his friends did (and told him) which I found odd but that's just me. I'm not going to lie, I didn't really like Tyler at all for a cool minute as his actions left a bad taste in my mouth to be honest but that's just ME. He's putting her through the paces at first, but somewhere along the way, things take a turn for the better, and the sparks are flying. Of course as feelings are getting caught, he's trying to fight them so I was put through the paces at that point because it drove me crazy LOL! Anyway, to see how it all plays out you'll have to hit those one click buttons as I'll never tell! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I couldn’t put this book down! I love these two together! Office romance, enemies, old crushes, somewhat forbidden, spicyyyy! Maysen is currently down in the dumps, kicked out of her home by her cheating ex, no job, just nothing is going right. Until she lands a job and it’s for her old high school crush. Tyler, in high school aka Mr. Irresistible, the one that pretty much ignored her even though they ran in the same circle. These two have changed since school, but also have lingering issues they were dealing with back when they were young. These two and their attraction, so much 🔥🔥. Maysen and her friendship with her bff was so much fun. There was a little bit of drama, but not too wild. Told in dual first person POV, I would definitely recommend this book.
I will admit I didn’t like Maysen for a good 1/3 of the book, she irritated me but she grew on me. Tyler was a jerk (Jodie knows how to write some doozy’s) but once he realized who he was dealing with his whole mood changed.
I love this book, it had twists that I didn’t see coming and some very likeable (and other equally unlikable characters).
This sucked. I really enjoyed the 1st half but by the middle, or elaly didn't like Maysens character development, or rather character decline. It started in that one meeting when she used her cleavage to get the deal. Which then in turn made it okay for everyone else to objectify her, at least w/Ian & his "colleague". It made feel skeezy. Then she went to amateur night at a strip club. With these two types of situations, it made her look easy, not independent & doing it for herself, because she wasn't. She was doing it for a guy. Then she goes again to the strip club near the end. As for the Ian debacle, she never fully turned him down & said she wasn't interested. Which really annoyed me.
She was also quite annoying w/the whole Christy situation, like she was that clueless - that wasn't a good look on her honestly, not for someone who wants to run their own business in the future.
My first time reading this author, but couldn’t put the book down. I found Mr. Irresistible was funny, refreshing take on an unrequited crush/office romance, with plenty of wit, heat and scrumptious banter! Maysen and Tyler Cannon knew each other from high school. It had been 10 years since they had seen each other and this is, to me, one of the parts that makes this meeting so fun. Tyler had been a popular, hot jock that all the girls swooned over…including Maysen! The sad thing was that Tyler was oblivious to her even when she was standing right beside him.
Like I said before it’s been 10 years since high school. Maysen has just been dumped by her boyfriend and is couch diving at a friends house. She is looking for a job so she can get her own place and move out. Interviewing with HR she lands a job as a personal assistant to a boss she hasn’t met yet. Imagine her surprise when she comes face to face with Tyler Cannon, her high school crush. His reputation precedes him as being the most difficult boss to work for. Plus, it doesn’t take long for Maysen to realize why he goes through so many assistants either. Sadly, once a philanderer, he hasn’t changed a bit he’s still up to his playboy ways with an office tryst.
Not only does he act as though he doesn’t know her, but he is an absolute jerk to her too. It’s when she refreshes his memory of how they know each other everything starts to change. Tyler kind of changes his attitude, especially once he sees what an asset she is for him as well as the company. That’s not the only thing that begins to change. Tyler finds himself kind of obsessed with Maysen and you can see where this is headed. Let’s just say that there is a lot of sex and super-hot chemistry!!
Mr. Irresistible was fun, and I would recommend it to everyone!
This book impressed me unknowst. I found the blurb very interesting and dived in without further knowledge. And am I glad I did. So much funny and witty encounters, so many steamy and hot moments. And so much unspoken thruths and confessions.
The story of Mr Irresistable, Tyler Cannon, and sassy Maysen Jones is unique. Despite knowing each other since second grade but not seeing for 10 years, Maysen is more likely shocked to discover who is her boss at her new job. But more shocking is, that it seems that he didn't recognize her. But to be honest, nothing new there, in highschool it was the same and gladly Maysen is so over her teenage crush for him. Right? But when the pin drops finally it seems the hunt is open. There are so much more aspects, sideeffects and little hurdles in the way to a happy end, that made me want to read more and more. And truly, I was sad as I finished it. Yeah, it was that good. New formed friendships, jealous co-workers, old friendships reactivated and a lot of secrets to come to light. In more ways than you would guess.
I liked Maysen and her being in every way. She hadn't had it easy but not in a bad kind of way. She can stand her ground and for herself. She takes as good as she gives and is a woman who wants to blend in the crowd... well, mostly.
Tyler, this guy is honest, if you like it or. He tests Maysens limits and his own as well in the process. He likes his work but isn't an overarchiver. But when sets his sight he goes for them and all in... well mostly.
I would like to read more from this world, because there are a few sidecharacters that made me curious about them.
Wow, I wonder how many women today can relate to this storyline. You know the girl who is popular enough in school but never quite makes it with the “in crowd”. The girl who has the secret crush on the “coolest guy in school” but he doesn’t even seem to notice her, even when she’s sitting right next to him in class. Yep, I bet more women than not can relate. Well this is Maysen’s life, well 10 years ago. But unlike most of us, Maysen finds herself landing a great ground-floor job as a PA. But when it turns out she is “His” PA and he still doesn’t know who she is, well that’s just too much to take. Especially when he’s still the same old playboy only now he’s traded his football cleats for dress shoes and designer suits!
While this sounds heartbreaking and I guess in a way it is, believe me the storyline is anything but. I laughed until I cried and I cheered for Maysen and even rooted for Tyler. Neither are what the world sees and boy what a wild ride the author took us on. One you don’t want to miss.
Romantic, delightful, RomCom. I can’t wait for more (that is a Hint Ms Larson, that I’d sure like to see some of the other characters get their stories told). I Highly Recommend Mr. Irresistible.
Features: - childhood crush to lovers - billionaire workplace romance - playboy to simp for her
I absolutely loved Mr. Irresistible! It gave me Wolf Hotel vibes with the innocent personal assistant x grumpy, ruthless boss relationship. If you liked that series, I think you'll really enjoy this book!
Maysen was the friend that hung with the "popular" crowd in high school but was on the outskirts of the group. She always had a crush on playboy Tyler Cannon even though he never saw her like that (or at all). Now, he's the ruthless executive that goes through personal assistants like most people go through underwear. And Maysen's his new assistant. She'd recognize him anywhere but he still doesn't remember her.
If you like the playboy turned simp for her trope, you'll really enjoy this one! Especially if you love a good boss x employee romance. These are some of my favorite tropes ever all rolled into one & I'm so in love! I sure hope Jenna and Holly get their own books next because they were so fun!
Thank you so much to Jodie Larson & Give Me Books PR for sending me an ARC to read & review!
Tyler was a playboy in high school and also in the business world and uses his looks and charm to garner clients and further his career but he is also cutthroat, cunning and a hood business man. He goes through assistants like candy.
Maysen Left her cheating boyfriend and is on her best friends couch. She took the only job she can find though she is much more qualified. She is stricken when she finds her new boss is her high school crush and doesn’t recognize her.
The characters were just ok for me. I did like Tyler some since I like bad boys but things were a bit repetitive at first with his Monday morning meetings but him getting jealous and doing what he could to keep Ian from Maysen. Double standards anyone if no office romance is policy? There were a few other small things. But closer to the end a little under 3/4 maybe it really picked up snd got good with twists and turns. Tyler redeemed himself in a big way. There is lots of hot sex so it’s pretty steamy. If you like office romance, childhood crush to lovers ,billionaire workplace romance ,playboy to fall in love you will enjoy this
ARC Review of Mr. Irresistible by Jodie Larson * * * * * An office romance with a complicated teen history and a steamy future. Sultry charity balls, pole work and breaking in office desks!
Maysen has been having it rough. Currently sleeping on her best mate's couch and job hunting, after her long time cheating boyfriend tossed her out homeless and hopeless, she's trying to make it all work. Finally, she lands a job. The bad news...she is the new secretary to Mr. Irresistible. Her high school crush who she thought never saw her. Boy was she wrong back then. Now, she's most definitely in his sights. He's an asshole for sure but he cannot deny the pull he has to her. Who she talks to, what she wears, what perv is getting all handsy and how much she pushes his buttons. Things evolve. Things change. Office easy lays are pushed to the side. Exes are forgotten. A sex thing turns into a relationship. However, nothing is going to be easy when people have been crossed or angered.
Talk about tension that builds up to intense hot sex!!! Praise!
I really found this to be a fun read. The story was entertaining, we have our heroine Maysen ( whose name I love for a girl) who is smart and driven, yet sometimes leaps before she looks and still manages to be somewhat naive. Our "hero" in the story Tyler is a former high school golden boy, he continued this into college and now sits at the top of his game in the business world. I really enjoyed the friendships whether they started in school or were work related. Every story needs a villain as well and although the story is pretty low drama it has some great "villains" you really don't want to get to know ever! Tyler and Maysen it seems have spent many of their growing up years with their signals crossed and their feelings hidden. Now as they've reentered each other's lives can they get past themselves and finally see each other? I have voluntarily left this review.
Well, it seems like this is my first book by this author and what a book it was to pop my cherry!!! I loved everything, and I absolutely mean everything about this story. The several tropes featured were done so very well, and it was hard to choose which one stood out the most. Maysen & Tyler were in high school together, but she thought she was never on his radar - not even a little blip. But as the story progresses, we find out that that's not completely true, and the way he ends up forgetting her is the only part of this story I found a bit wishy washy. The push & pull between the pair is absolute romance reading gold to me. All the feelings coming from both the characters and then myself as well made this such the terrific read it ended up being. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book

There's just something about an office romance with enemies-to-lovers that I could not pass up. Back in her school days, Maysen had a major crush on Tyler Cannon. He was Mr. Irresistible then, prom king and a jock. 10 years later, Maysen finds herself down on her luck and crashing on her best friends couch. That is, until she finds a job as an executive's assistant, not only is it for a great firm but it's for Tyler's firm. Yes, the Tyler! Maysen is ran through the ringer in order to appease her new boss but there isn't denying the chemistry between the two. Maysen is a strong, funny and determined heroine who makes some choices I wouldn't agree with, however I enjoyed the push and pull of their relationship.
Mr. Irresistible was a really good book that caught my attention from the beginning to end.
Tyler was “Mr. Irresistible” in high school and Maysen’s crush, even though she was invisible to him. I found it sad that Tyler didn’t recognize her when she started working for him yet from across a bar, his friends did.
Tyler and Maysen’s chemistry was pretty good. He bugged me at times because he was extremely arrogant. He thought everyone should do what he says. Yet, he finds a way into your heart and makes you root for him.
Overall, this was a fun read. I enjoyed the progression of their relationship, and I found their back and forth banter definitely added to the that. If you love a good enemies to lovers, workplace romance, you should read this!
Alternative titles: Mr. HR Violation or Mr Sexual Assault Lawsuit
Not one character in this book is likable. Everyone is terrible, toxic, and a giant red flag. Why is everyone so obsessed with what happened in high school?
The main characters have zero chemistry and I truly don’t know why they even like each other.
He is so possessive and gives a major ick. “You are my property” is NOT okay with me.
We also never even know why he is called Mr. Irresistible. So many elements of this book just didn’t make sense.
At least I read this book with two friends and we got a good buddy read chat from it
In high school Tyler was the jock, prom kind, and hometown hero, and Maysen has a huge crush on him, but he never looked in her direction. Now 10-years later Tyler is a grumpy billionaire, and Maysen is hired as his personal assistant. To make things worse Tyler does now recognize her, until he is reminded by one of his friends. This is a well written fun read, which is an enemies / lovers’ romance, with emotions, humor, witty banter, and love, which leads to a steamy and heartwarming page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I haven't read too many office romance books and this one didn't let me down. Tyler is Maysen's high school crush and now 10 years later she finds herself working for him only to learn he doesn't even recognize her. He used to be a prom king jock and now he's turned into a grumpy billionaire that works non-stop. Maysen is funny and smart and wants more than to just be his assistant. This was a good read with fun banter, romance, and some steam!

Maysen James is glad to finally have found a job, but is a little unsure when she finds out her new boss os the same guy she crushed on in high school and didn’t seem to know she existed. Tyler Cannon is a handsome and successful businessman, who has a reputation with the ladies but also with being a touch boss. There is something about his new assistant that intrigues him. Mr. Irresistible is Seriously such a fun read had me laughing and blushing at times. There was also some angst. This books gave me lots of feels, and I loved it! The chemistry and banter between Tyler and Maysen was so good. This was my first book by Jodie Larson and I will be looking for more. I highly recommend Mr. Irresistible!!
Nothing makes me happier than when Jodie writes a self-centered and cocky hero who is brought to his knees by a quick-witted heroine. And Mr. Irresistible is exactly that. Tension of the seggs variety sets the pages on fire and the banter between Tyler and Maysen is absolute perfection. I loved every minute of this well-written and swoon worthy story.
Loved it from the beginning, the story had me hooked, and the way is written totally did it for me. The characters are amazingly written and fit perfectly with everything. Is kind of light read but had is depths and some turns that had me awestruck, everything that happens in the book will have you hanging to each word, I promise you that. Definitely a must read.
3.5 stars! I love an office romance and loved the idea of Maysen finally getting noticed by her high school crush. But I’m going to be honest, my first impression of Tyler was that he was a total jerk who did not deserve Maysen’s help. And my second impression of him was that he was a misogynist jerk, who still didn’t deserve Maysen, and it’s hard to come back from that.
But, funny enough, he did kind of worm his way into my heart. Once we got past the initial “test” phase of Maysen’s employment, I did love how he supported Maysen’s career and gave her opportunities to show that she was capable of so much. And he was wonderfully sneaky about her living situation!
But it made me sad that Tyler, for all his protests that he noticed her in high school, didn’t recognize either her face or her name when she started work for him, yet his friends did.
This was a fun read with some characters that you grow to love. And that cover, is just so gorgeous too. Love that it is so artistic and out of the ordinary.
I requested an advance reader copy of this book and these are my honest opinions.
Tyler and Maysen go way back. She admired hi. from afar in high school and now works under. This first starts out from an enemies to lovers but slowly morphs into something more! I really enjoyed the is book!!
