Priyanka Taslim is a writer, teacher, and lifelong New Jersey resident.

Having grown up in a bustling Bangladeshi diaspora community, surrounded by her mother’s entire clan and many aunties of no relation, her writing often features families, communities, and all the drama therein.

Currently, Priyanka teaches English by day and tells all kinds of stories about Bengali characters by night. Her writing usually stars spunky Bengali heroines finding their place in the world…and a little swoony romance, too.

Her debut young adult novel, THE LOVE MATCH, is releasing from Salaam Reads, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, in January 2023.

Hi, I'm the author of this book!

From Mumbai, with Love is the most challenging novel I've ever written, mostly due to circumstances outside of the book itself. I wrote it while severely burned out, having returned to in person schooling when the pandemic was still raging on, all while also juggling deadlines for my debut novel, The Love Match.

Although it explores grief, FMWL is ultimately a joyful story about family and adventure (with a nice helping of romance) in the vein of Crazy Rich Asians, Succession and The Princess Diaries. Even still, it almost killed me and was an almost quintessential example of the sophomore slump...

But because of that, I am so very proud of this book and how much better it keeps getting! I have worked my butt off getting it here and hope you'll all enjoy the fruits of this labor of love. If you've read my debut and want something that explores some of the same themes with a very different plot, you've come to the right place. 2024, here we come---but first, check out my YA romcom debut, The Love Match, which releases in January 2023!

Gorgeous novel about family, grief, culture, and reconnection. The Mumbai setting is vibrant, the characters are full and jump off the page, and the plot keeps going and going and going. Loved how Diya's story wrapped up in such a satisfying-but-not-predictable way. Really enjoyed and will be revisiting it again and again!
