I absolutely loved this book! This is such a powerful resource. Each strategy includes a teacher lesson, guiding questions, teacher tips, research/facts as to why each strategy is helpful along. There are over 300 strategies to support reading K-12. This is a book with lots of embedded PD, while still being very accessible to teachers. The format and illustrations are captivating and the lessons I have already tried out from the book have been so helpful. The fact that every strategy is connected to research and a progression of skills helps your teaching be more intentional and focused. Jennifer Serravallo’s hierarchy of Reading Goals enables you to pinpoint your students' strengths and exactly what your students need, and with the strategies she offers for each goal, you can teach students HOW to reach that goal. Apparently, there is a Reading Strategies 1.0 book which I didn't even know about. I especially like the strategies for older and advanced learners.2.0 is an amazing update- so much research referenced, and new thinking added. Outstanding book for reading teachers or for teachers in the classroom who teach reading. 5-Star read for sure!

Very informative! It gave me new ideas of how to teach so my students have a strategy to refer back to when they are reading on their own.
