This book was even better than the first.
Everything is so well written, with deep emotions into every page. Seeing Abby and Victoria’s relationship reach new levels of vulnerability and love was truly amazing.
Their bond feels so authentic, making every moment between them even more powerful. Allison’s journey was heartbreaking, but the way she found safety and comfort in them was beautifully done.
It added another layer to the story, making me even more invested in all three of them.
I’m so curious to see where their relationship goes in the third book, especially with how things were left off. The emotional depth and character growth in this series have been incredible so far.
Can’t wait ! 🙌🏻

To all those that love Ruby Scott's writing this is different but woven in her beautiful style, and you should read May I Call you Mistress, first. I am going to begin with trigger warnings - It is BDSM but at one point submission becomes degrading enslavement. Since Ruby writes more about the psychology than the physical acts, it it impacting.
That being said, the growing relationship of Victoria and Abbey is explored and expanded by their need to help Allison. A brilliant and emotional story, both entertaining and thought provoking.
I did have the privilege of reading the ARC but I purchased the book as soon as it was available.

Great D/s dynamics!
I love Victoria and her pet.
They are a gorgeous couple in and outside of their bedroom.
This sequel to „May I Call You Mistress“ made it even clearer.
It gets exciting and a bit dangerous in this part of the story and my anger and murderous thirst for Mhairi, Alison's mistress, were quickly awakened. This lousy piece of shit gets what it deserves, that's all I can say.
Poor Alison finds herself in an extremely abusive relationship where she is unable to find her way out on her own.
Through Victoria and Abby, she gets the chance she needs to break free.
These three find a way to each other, that will hopefully bring healing.

To follow the main characters Victoria and Abby in their yourney of love. It is a great read. Later in the story their is a scene that's a part that is written about to understand 2 other characters. For the story it makes it compleet. It is not for everyone but a true part of it to understand the creedy and nasty persons involved. I understand it better. I read this story allready twice and it's getting even better.

It's always an interesting topic to undertake- where the line between BDSM and abuse falls. Luckily, this book is very good at calling to light how a Domme is responsible for ensuring that line has no grey area. We all choose our path, but sometimes... when we lose our voice... it's good to have those from our past to call us out of the darkness.
I enjoyed reading about Abby's constant curiosity. There's a beauty in sexual exploration when it's safe, when you truly trust the person you are exploring with, when you can be completely honest and not worry about any backlash or feelings of embarrassment, the awakening can be as beautiful as the experience itself. The journey this D/s relationship is on is beguiling. I cannot wait to see where it leads in book 3.

The characters drew me in from the outset and followed nicely on from book 1 in the series (May I Call You Mistress). There are some steamy scenes in this book – do not read at work or on a bus !
Victoria and Abby are brilliant MCs who complement each other well, both quite charming, interesting personalities and strong in their own ways making for an ideal couple. Alison, Victoria’s ex and now business partner, has some quite complex scenes with her partner of 10 years, Mhairi. The sign of skilful author is when the characters are written in a way that bring out strong emotions and are very believable with twists to keep you guessing, well-done Ruby Scott this is certainly the case.
I was totally drawn into this novel (which is not my usual genre). The ending does tend to lean towards a potential other to follow in the series so I guess that will be a watch this space.
This book does have a trigger warning so please take note.

Ruby Scott’s “Awakening Of Desire” series is definitely a good one. The second installment had desire, intrigue and loyalty brought to the forefront. Victoria and Abby are adjusting to their newly coupled situation with I Love You’s and devotion. But a humiliating situation with Allison, Victoria’s ex brings a new dynamic to their relationship. As tough as some of it was, Ruby handled it with Grace, Love and Humility.

This is a very steamy and exciting romance between two strong, talented and brave ladies. The story is addictive and well written, the main characters are independent , attractive and unforgettable. It is full of sexy and tender love and I can't stop myself once I start reading. This is part 2 of the series and I am eagerly waiting for the next one. A beautiful story brilliantly done.

Wow, that was an eye-opening book. I have always enjoyed reading about #BDSM and the powered play between a #dominant and a #submissive and the joys that can come from it. However in the first book, I didn't like Mhairi very much at all and in this book, there isn't a word to describe how much I dislike her 😡
On a brighter note, Abby and Victoria are strong and I love their relationship I'm really enjoying watching them grow as a couple not just in the 'normal' sense but also in the #BDSM sense too!
This book was brilliant and I couldn't put it down! It was wonderfully written and I'm looking forward to the next one in the series!

Tantalizing and HOT!!
Two words that only begin to describe this series

When her partner in business and ex-sub Alison is in a dangerously abusive relationship and lives are on the line, she won’t stop until everyone’s safe. But by saving Alison, will she risk her relationship with her lovely sub-Abby?
I will mention this is book two in the mistress series, and after that scorching hot first book, I had my hopes high on this one, and Ms Scott didn’t disappoint. She delivered another sizzling story, although this one had an even deeper meaning. But be warned, there’s a trigger warning. Some scenes might be hard or upsetting for some readers.
I fell in love with Victoria and Abby in book one and couldn’t wait to read more about their journey. I was looking forward to this one! I liked it very much. The intrigue, the scorching hot moments, and the extraordinary characters carried me on a journey. The storyline moved along perfectly and kept me involved.
The characters are well-developed, and this was a well-written story filled with twists and turns. I couldn’t put it down. I was kept on the edge of my seat; I thoroughly enjoyed the steamy scenes and the romance. While reading this story, I experienced every emotion possible. A truly remarkable story because it can invoke feelings well after the last chapter gets finished.
I especially loved the ending; I hope to see the three of them happy in the next book. They make a good team. I won’t say more about this to avoid spoilers, but I am rooting for them.
If you like good books that hook you from the first page, where the plot flows nicely, beautifully written characters, and well-written erotica with a twist, this is the book for you.
I can’t wait for the next instalment of the series.

Hot
Abby and Victoria are just flat out hot together! I can't quite get enough of their relationship, the sweet love as well as the mistress/pet side of things. Another really well written story that makes me want to burn through the author's entire collection of work. I will say, definitely pay attention to the trigger warning at the beginning of the book. That scene(s) it refers to were rough to get through but it was a good topic I think to bring up. From what little I know of the BDSM world, it is important to have a domme who will properly take care of their sub, you don't want to encounter someone like Allison's partner ever. I have no doubt there are peope like her in the world who take things too far and its important for even fiction stories to bring that topic to life. I can't wait to pick up the third book in this series and watch Allison continue to heal from that whole ordeal.

This, was a great novel. Similar to the first one, it was not at all what I expected but I mean that in a good way. The trigger warnings are there, but not for what I would have expected; this is not a light and breezy novel.
This novel has all the feels and in a big way. The protagonists are SO sweet together and I will adore them forever. This is a wonderful and caring relationship, that was the perfect depiction of what healthy communication and supportive behavior looks like. This novel also features the polar opposite; some behaviors that are excessively toxic and horrible to the point of being unrealistic (but unfortunately likely isn’t……ugh). There is a lot of content packed into this book’s pages.
The spicy bits (because of course) are delightful and very well done. I like it when an author manages to write scenes that are spicy AND emotional AND relevant to the plot all at the same time.

Not only is the cover outstanding, the story inside is just as good. Ruby has written this second installment with a lot of moments that will keep you enthralled. Some of the characters you’ll meet in this book need a good butt whooping and Victoria is just the one to do it. When Allison, an old flame, needs help Vic steps in and gets the job done. Abby finds out how Vic takes care of business and she is there to assist in Allison’s recovery.
You’ll find this book challenging at times, but Ruby makes sure to lead you through the darkness and end on a happy note. I can’t wait to read book 3, which luckily comes out at the end of this month.

Ruby Scott brings back Victoria and Abby and their relationship continues to grow. Scott writes a loving and caring D/s relationship that melts your heart and sizzles your...thoughts. Victoria leads Abby in the relationship with a gentle hand and Abby's eager to experience whatever her Mistress permits. Not all Dommes are caring and gentle and Victoria's ex, Alison finds herself intertwined with a harsh, masochistic Mistress. Victoria finds herself coming to Alison's aid and provides a safe haven to recover. I love that Ruby Scott gives each character a voice that is distinct and clear and we want to hear what each one has to say. I recommend this sexy, keep you up till your done book

November 7, 2022Oh, I've been waiting for this. Since I first read May I call You Mistress, I wanted to know more about Victoria and Abby. I'm happy to say, I was not disappointed! This is an amazing book and I absolutely could not put it down. Cannot wait for the next one.
Darkness of Desire explores more of the relationship that Victoria and Abby share, both within the world of BDSM and in everyday life. This book continues to expand up their characters and what motivates them. It captures what makes them tick and the lengths they would go to for someone they love.
If you enjoyed the first in this series, I'm sure you will love this one.

Scott does it again - this book is blazing hot. It follows Victoria and Abby in their D/s relationship first discovered in May I Call You Mistress and shows the love and boundaries of that BDSM relationship. It also brings in Allison and her sinister D and shows the more troubling side of some unbalanced BSDM relationships, which was frankly a bit hard to read. Ultimately, everything works out and for a while we get very hot D/s/s scenes which are fire.
I consumed this in a day and quickly moved onto #3 in the series. So far there are 4 in the series and they roll very nicely into each other and are all enjoyable.

After reading the novella 'May I Call You Mistress?' I just had to find out more about the two MC's.
'Darkness of Desire' sure has some darkness in it. The scene at Mhairi's party really shook me and left a bitter taste in my mouth. OK, so I was warned that this novel would contain some disgusting BDSM stuff, but still...
Overall it was a great story. The love between Victoria and Abby flows from the pages.

This book in the series was very written, I have never felt so uncomfortable reading a book.
The emotion and trauma in this book was so horrific it almost made me stop reading but from the first in the series it had laid the groundwork that this book would bring the reader back to safety and Ms Scott, you did.
As uncomfortable as you made that scene, you also portrayed the safety just as well, thank you.

This is the second book in the series and doesn't disappoint,Victoria and Abby's love seem to grow and grow add in Abby exploring her new found kinky side . While Victoria loves to explore with her "Pet" other issues come to light that she must deal with. This book deals with love in it's best form and shows the dark side of bdsm . It was hard reading this book at times as it shows an evil that is all too often ignored in this world but also how love is a very powerful thing. Please take the time to enjoy Ms Scott's wonderful books especially this series

Good book
As the series continues Abby is in love with Victoria and wants to go to the big party. When at the party things went terribly wrong. Victoria still cares for Allison and took matter into her own hands. We seen the love that Abby and Victoria have for each other but now that there is three we'll see how they all play and live together.

4 stars. So good! This series is taking a turn that I did not see coming and I’m here for it. It was still really sexy but there was a lot going on with the plot as well. Poor Allison! My heart broke for her but I’m glad that she has Victoria and Abby now. All three characters work really well together and I’m excited to see how they’re going to maneuver this new relationship going forward.

Following on from May I Call You Mistress? the second book in this series offers up everything we were promised in book one and so much more. Showing a darker side to the BDSM world had this book filled with emotional depth alongside some of the hottest sapphic scenes I have read all year. A must read!

Excellent Book 2 of series
My internet is out and it is colder than a deep freeze here so what better way to stay warm than with some hot romance? This is an excellent book 2. A bit darker it takes Victoria and Abby’s relationship further while also dealing with the sordid deatails of ex lover Allison’s current partner. It is a very quick and satisfying read.

Ruby Scott knows how to write smart women, who incidentally are dommes. Victoria is beautiful, smart, stylish, confident, and happens to draw beautiful submissive women to her. Loved the outcome of the drama in this installment.

This book shows two totally different sides of BDSM and may not be for the faint of heart. Definitely has some triggers. Book two in the series is a little darker than the first one. But damn is it spicy! I can't wait to read book three.
