Asa: Jade Kanoska is a puzzle I want to figure out. Not only because she’s beautiful, smart, and sharp-tongued, but because she’s hiding something, and I want to know what it is. The problem is, the more time I spend with my new temporary assistant, the more I’m seeing her in an unprofessional light, and the more I realize I want her permanently. Only not as my assistant. Now I just need to figure out what she’s hiding and show her why she shouldn’t resist me. But something tells me that will be easier said than done. Good thing I love a challenge.
Jade: I thought my life would be different by now, but I guess it’s not in the cards yet. Instead, I’m still living at home with my father, and working to pay off a debt that my brother owes. Now, to add to it, I’ve been asked to work with Asa Lincoln temporarily until he finds a new assistant. I’d be fine if he didn’t constantly get under my skin and call me ridiculous nicknames like Sunshine. Or make comments about his ass. It’s okay though, I know I can do it. It’s only temporary. Except, I’m not as careful about hiding that something is wrong, and Asa is determined to figure it out. But while I’m trying to keep him in the dark, he’s getting under my skin in a way that is far from professional. I just need to resist his charming smile, and the way he makes me want things I can’t have. It shouldn’t be too hard right?
I live in New Brunswick, Canada with my husband and our two dogs, Remi and Sako (pronounced Say-co). When I’m not writing, I’m playing fetch with the dogs, talking to my parents for endless amounts of hours, annoying the crap out of my husband, or just enjoying life with my friends. Writing has been a part of my life since I was about 12. I started out just writing short stories or silly knock-offs of my favorite shows or movies. Soon, though, I realized just how much I loved to write. How often my mind would wander and think of characters and where they could go. They became real to me, and I would start to write. I used to fill up notebooks and pads of paper when I got an idea. It would be an obsession, almost, to get on paper. Then, when I was old enough to have a computer, I started there. Now, I’m 28 years old and I finally hit that button. The one that I’ve thought about it over and over again for the past 16 years. There is no greater joy, or fear, at realizing you’ve just accomplished something that you’ve wanted to do for so very long. That is my greatest accomplishment and I look forward to hitting that button on many more.
From the last book we could see this pairing coming. Asa has come off as kinda of fun loving joker, yet he was persistent in his pursuit of Jade. I liked Jade, so straight laced and putting Asa in his place, yet her work with Maverick was keeping him on track and finally being someone he could depend on. I did worry that a relationship between Asa and Jade would screw up so much, but it worked out. And as much as I was rooting for the couple to end up together, the verbal sparring got old fast. It was the same thing with them moving 1 millimeter forward.
I did feel for Jade and what was going on in her personal life. She was trying so hard, doing everything she could and barely hanging on by her fingertips. I was glad when the truth finally came out. Of course it came out and one of the "little" family meals that the Lincoln's have with everyone that they claim as family, so you can imagine how hearing bad things went with all the alpha males, heck even the females in this bunch.
I loved that the meal and truth telling was followed by a spa day gone wrong. The wrong part really only acknowledged that way by the men of the group, all shaking their heads at the antics the women got up to, yet you knew they all secretly admired the action.
With Jade's problem taken care of, all that was left was for them to live happy, something they deserved.
On a side note, I wasn't too sure about the new business deal the company was thinking about investing in, not sure of the new knowledge they gained about the trio of siblings, but that turned out really good. The siblings happy to be part of the "family" now and get in on all the craziness!
And now it's the happy-go-lucky charmer of the Lincoln brothers turn, the one who has no interest in a relationship, perfectly happy as he is, doesn't want to be tied down - etc etc....Well not for long!!
We meet Jade in the previous book when she becomes Mavericks assistant, and Asa likes to get under her skin. When she's asked to temp for him, their banter becomes more for him and he wants more from her - he just needs to find out what she's hiding first! She's tired, physically and mentally, and now Asa has decided he wants to know why, but she doesn't have the time for someone, not when she's working herself sick to pay for a debt that isn't hers!
There's plenty of banter, plenty of attraction, passion and pranks - and that's only from The Coven 🤣 I swear I love those women!!!!!
A excellent addition to an excellent series - I love Emily's work!
I'm excited for The Cox's stories....please tell me we're getting them?!?!
*I voluntarily received an arc and this is my honest review 4.5stars
Once again, Emily Rose has me crying, laughing, and getting angry. The story started in 'Trusting Maverick' with Asa teasing and enjoying irritating Jade. Jade takes a temporary position and Asa realizes Jade is his one. There are steamy sex scenes, the loving family dynamic of the Lincolns, bad guys to hate, appearances by characters from the Devil's Soldier's and Fire and Ink series and the Coven. The Coven are outraged and take on the bad guys. "Handcuffs. Never leave home without them," says Alice as she pulls a pair from her back pocket. 😆😆😆 All in all, an enjoyable read. Looking forward to Devil's Soldiers book #4 coming in summer of 2023.
The three series, Devil's Soldiers, Lincoln Billionaires and Fire and Ink are interconnected. I reccomend reading the three series using the suggested reading order.
Fire & Ink: Wolf Fire & Ink: Talon Fire & Ink: Nix Fire & Ink: Raven Devil's Soldiers: The Devil's Queen (series prequel) Devil's Soldiers: The Devil's Goddess Lincoln Billionaires: Trusting Maverick Devil's Soldiers: The Devil's Revelation Devil's Soldiers: The Devil's Reward Lincoln Billionaires: Resisting Asa
This was a fun and quick billionaire romance. I loved seeing past characters in this book, and as always “the coven” is hilarious and super fun. To be honest Jade annoyed me a bit. She made things a million times harder on herself due to pride. Did she really think that she’d ever get ahead on that illegal situation? No. Bad guys like that do that to trap women into prostitution. Her father was at least a little more understanding of needing help. Asa was a fun character. He was goofy, but could also get serious and hot. Personally, he wasn’t dark or possessive over the top enough for me to give the story five stars. All in all it’s a fun read and has nice levels of steam, romance, and some action.
Asa as been rubbing Jade the wrong way since they meet by giving her a nickname sunshine, but when all his assistant a no good and don't do there there job, Jade ends up being his temp assistant until they can find one more suited to the role,
Jades is not happy about being Asa temp assistant and thinks it is because Mav is not happy with her work as she needs all the money she can get at the moment, Jade as all way thought Asa was hot but denies it, but that changes when they work together. Jade is every strong headed and will not do anything that could lose her job and even means not sleeping with Asa,
Asa starts to see how tired she is and the dark rings under her eyes but Jade will not tell him what's going on,when Asa finds out she is working to jobs, he wants to know why but she will not tell him and at one point he tries to kiss it out of her.
But when Asa sees someone hurt Jade all gloves are off he will do anything to protect her but Jade will still have none of it.
Will Jade tell Asa what is going on and give them ago to see where it goes and see how much support she as with Asa at her side, or will keep going the way she is because she thinks there worlds apart
(ARC REVIEW) These two were perfect for each other they balanced each other out. Asa is first introduced to us in Emily's Inked series since reading it Ive wanted his story. Asa is the fun-loving brother and uncle. Asa is the family member you want at boring get-togethers. Jade the girl who gets his attention does not want it and let me tell you it's clear as day. Jade is protective and thoughtful of her father. Her main focus is her father. You can feel her love for her dad. Mix Jade and Asa together and you get an explosion. I loved their banter. I love how Jade didnt hold back on Asa. I can't wait to read more about them in other side character's books. This can be read as a standalone but there are side characters who are interconnected.
This was a really enjoyable read, couldn’t put it down. The characters are both really likeable. Especially Asa, perfect book book boyfriend. The banter between both Asa and Jade is everything! Loved their chemistry and interactions and their eventual HEA. Loved seeing characters from previous books in this as well.
So I was one of the lucky ones I got to read the ARC of this book . What can I say Emily Rose has done it again ! I hate giving anything away as I hate spoilers myself, but what I will say was I got very irritated reading this book and not down to the book down to the fact that everytime I thought yes peace to read everyone an anyone wanted my attention .I loved this book the dynamics Asa an Jade have were everything an more cant wait for Emily's next master peice . A total must read ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😍
Jade is Asa’s brother’s assistant. The two love to get under each other’s skin and Jade’s sass is his perfect match. Asa is playful but takes work seriously. He’s having trouble finding an assistant that meets his expectations As a solution, his brother suggests having Jade step in as his temporary assistant. This worries Jade, especially since she needs her job. Jade is focused on helping her dad pay off her brother’s bookie. She can’t afford anything to get in her way.
Asa and Jade are so good together and their interactions were the best. Asa is a charmer and has his eye on Jade but she can’t give in to her attraction. Asa and Jade play a game of push and pull, he pulls her in but she quickly pushes him away, creating a slowburn. He definitely falls first.
When Asa notices how tired she is and discovers she is working a second job he is determined to find out what she is hiding, boy did I love this protective and high-handed side of Asa. I'm a sucker for protective, bossy heroes.
Family is important to both Asa and Jade. Jade works at Asa’s family’s company. Most of the book takes place in the office and his family, both blood and choice, are a huge part of their story. I loved Asa and Jade but most of my favorite scenes include his outrageous family. I loved how Jade fit right in.
Resisting Asa is book 2 in the Lincoln Billionaire Series which is part of a bigger world with many crossover characters. It can be read as a standalone. Once you meet this found family you will want more. I recommend The Inked Series and The Devil's Soldier's MC for even more goodness from these characters.
This book has tension, steam, humor, and fantastic banter.
Breath of fresh air. This book was great! It was super fun to read. I enjoyed every moment of it, from start to finish I couldn’t really put it down. The book starts off with Asa secretly having the hots for his brother’s assistant. Asa loves to tease Jade everyday, but in reality he’s trying to dig his way into her heart. Jade loves her job, but Asa can make it a bit frustrating with all of the teasing, she secretly enjoys staring at Asa in all of his sexiness. It’s evident that they are both attracted to each other, Asa doesn’t shy from that, Jade on the other hand likes to be professional and can’t risk loosing her job. Jade has taken up on a big burden that is not hers nor her fathers, but they have to pay if not, harm will come to them. That is something that Jade will not allow to happen, so she works herself to exhaustion. Asa and his brothers start to notice and then things start to pick up when Jade is forced to take on another job to catch up on the payments to pay off the loan shark, but the loan sharks keeps on trying to get Jade to submit to him and become his personal toy… Jade must make so many hard decisions, will she give in to the shark and use her body to pay off the debt, will she continues to work herself to exhaustion until she can’t, or will she finally fess up to her boss and accept help! Read to find out! The build up is so wonderful and definitely not a disappointment!! 8/10 would recommend 🔥
Asa the last of the Lincoln brothers to find his one and only and was happy to leave the love hearts and flowers to his siblings but his brothers new assistant Jade catches his eye and there is something about her not just her looks or even her intelligence it's the haunted look in her eyes he wants to know why and help her but he rubs jade up the wrong way and she fights him at every turn and one of her main reason is her personal business that is drowning not only her but her father but in true alpha bossy fashion Asa wears her down with the help of his family and friends and thanks to the ladies from the Mc Lincoln family and friends we have amazing sence where you just cant help but laugh so loud you wonder if the neighbours can hear (my poor cats did and they ran out of the room like the butts were on fire)
We are also introduced not only to jade and her father but some new characters I wont say who and why as need to read the book but I hope we get some more books out of it.
This book has to be 5 stars as that's the highest I can do it has all the making of a great book alpha men great family feel a mc a whole lot of laughs love great women and a hea who can ask for more thanks Emily cant wait for your next book
How could anyone Resist Asa, he is funny, he is one hunky eye candy, underneath the suits he wears he not only has a body to die for but, also some impressive tattoos, and we mustn't forget his back-side that he believes is his best asset, Asa knows he shouldn't keep trying to get under Jade, his brothers assistant skin, but that more she resists the more he ups his game, struggling with a debt caused by her brother Jade doesn't have time for anything else, but slowly Asa is breaking down those walls, and is making it hard for her to resist, and when he does boy have a fan at the ready, because when Jade find's herself in a dangerous situation and Asa is there for her the walls come crumbling down, you can't help but give an extra shout out to Jade, because she was one strong yet soft young lady who deserved her HEA.
Emily Rose has poured so many outstanding moments that just brought the story to live from start to finish, a special 'High Five' as I laughed out loud when all the ladies got together, from the cross over MC romance series 'the Devils Soldiers' and the 'Inked Series', all of this is what makes this authors stories so special.
A great Addition to Emily Rose Lincoln billionaire series
This is the book 2 in the Lincoln billionaire series, In it we meet Asa and jade ,
A slow burn seduction but once your caught you can't stop reading ,Jade is dealing with alot ,her dad and her are working themselves to the bone to pay off her brothers debt ,and now she has to deal with Asa pursuit to win her over while being having to help him at the office Jade is feeling overwhelmed and something has to give, When her life takes a turn for the worst and danger comes looking Asa is there to help and with he's family and friend's we know it's going to be a wild ride especially when the crazy coven get involved, with everyone behind her will she finely give into asa and live her life or will life come in between them ,
I really loved reading Asa's story he is a great guy and I fell in love with him even more with each chapter ,the laughs were embarrassing(they just burst out of me) and I would definitely recommend to anyone who loved billionaire books
I love Asa's family. They are a very close knit group that would do anything for each other. The ribbing that everyone gives each other is entertaining as heck. Ok, so in my head, I would switch back and forth between Asa and calling him Mr. Lincoln. the opening chapter where Jade calls Asa, Mr. Lincoln as to not give him the satisfaction of calling him by his first name and then Asa picturing Jade calling him Mr. Lincoln got me all hot and bothered.
Although, this book is a slow burn as Jade liked to keep Asa at an arm's distance. Yet, it was all worth it as this just meant the chemistry between these two grew hotter and hotter until combustion. This is when things got scorching hot! Ignore the first word in this book title " resisting", as you don't want to miss this scorcher of a read by Emily Rose!
Yet again Emily knocked it out of the park with Asa and Jade's story. I had been looking forward to reading this book since Maverick's story. I've always had a thing for goofy Asa. He is absolutely charming and a complete joker. He is just like the other men in his family, he knows what he wants and goes after it. Jade is his brother's secretary who he is always hitting on. She thinks he is just messing with her. She thinks because of what is going on with her life she doesn't have time for anything or anyone in her life. The chemistry between these two is off the chart. Let's not forget to mention all the other trouble makers.....I mean characters, maybe 😉. As always they make you feel like you are right there in the book with them. I seriously couldn't put this book down once I started reading it just like all the other books by this author. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Well, what a book. The last of the Lincoln brothers, and who would have guessed from our previous knowledge of Asa that he also wrote the book on sexual harassment in the workplace? Honestly, for someone previously written as such a kind-hearted guy, it was jarring to have to wonder if the main male character would end up sued for harassment. His behavior is deplorable here, and I won’t be fooled by his “feelings” for Jade, a character we barely get to know and who shares a plot line so similar to the previous book, it’s an insult to Rose’s first female protagonist who happens to also be BIPOC - only a passing mention, again, in a previous book. The action skyrockets out of nowhere thanks to the “Coven” and gets resolved with ludicrous speed. A ludicrous book.
*****5 Battling Stars***** I loved this from start to end. Jade and Asa are like oil and vinegar but when they mix together it’s so so good. Asa is the fun loving uncle, brother and son. Jade is asked to fill in as a temporary assistant for Asa and is counting done the days when she can return to working with Maverick. Asa is trying to win over Jade any way he can; their banter is what Asa looks forward to everyday and wants more of it. Jade has secrets and Asa wants to know them all and help Jade anyway he can. Jade working herself non-stop she’s exhausted mentally and physically and Asa want nothing more than to lighten her load. This was great read from start to end and I can’t wait for more in this series. *****ARC from Author for review*****
A must read. Emily did a fantastic job with Asa & Jade's story. Jade works for Maverick, but Asa needed assistance, so she was temporarily loaned to Asa. He was always trying to get her attention and calling her Sunshine, and she diverted by calling him Mr Lincoln. Asa could tell something was going on with Jade with her looking tired and working so much overtime. Jade and her father both were working extra hours to pay off a debt that her brother owed because he was in prison, but the Coven found out what was happening when Jade was attacked by the scum. A few twist and turns throughout and you need to read to see what happens next. Happy reading.
One of my favorite things about an Emily Rose book (besides the shenanigans of The Coven) is the way the characters all tie together. I always get so much more out of her books than just a romance story and that was no different with Asa and Jade’s story. I love how her books show family can be choice or blood and that no matter how different people are, you can still be family. Between the bikers, the billionaires and the extras that pop up, they all have each other’s back no matter what. I enjoyed the push and pull between Jade and Asa and the eventual realization of their connection. Thank you once again to Emily Rose for another great story!
Books like these are why this author will always be an automatic one click for me!
These two are absolutely perfect for each other, for all of Asa’s goofiness is Jades seriousness. I’m not going to lie Jade ticked me off because of how hard she fought her very obvious feelings- however when the story builds you can understand her hesitance.
Like always we get great characters and world building that keeps the reader engaged and flipping the pages. We get to visit some of our favorite characters and meet some new ones that peek your interest. There is just a little bit of suspense to go with the perfect amount of spice! Another job well done to a favorite author of mine.
Spicy slow burn workplace billionaire romance. This author was new to me so I was not familiar with the background characters in this book (there are many!). After looking up her backlist I see there are books about these characters so although this book could be read as a standalone you would likely enjoy it more if you had read the other books first. (Since I had not read the previous books I found myself having a hard time keeping everyone straight). Regardless, I enjoyed it. Spice scale - 🌶️🌶️.
Loved everything about this book , it’s just so capturing from the very beginning. If your looking for a little cheekiness , lust , playfulness and drama then this is defiantly the book for you also the series that comes along with this is also 5* so I defiantly recommend as you get to interact and see each of the characters grow within every book and they all interlink and connect .
I can’t wait to read more from Emily about these characters as you just fall in love with each and everyone of them a little more each time.
From the first page I knew this was going to be my kind of book! The way Asa pushes her buttons, it’s fantastic! I love their banter, it made me smile several times. Their chemistry is off the charts which gives us some steamy scenes. The family dynamic and the coven, I would love to be a part of that. They are a bunch of special and incredible ladies, their vibes and chemistry together is golden. I really love this series!!! So good! Just read it really.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! I absolutely adore Jade and Asa. This was so well written. I love how Jade stayed true to herself and how Asa stood by her and encouraged her. I loved their banter as it was so comical at times. As with Emily's other books, characters from her other books from the Devil's Soldiers and Fire in Ink series make appearances and it just gives you that feeling that they are all part of big family and they all protect each other no matter if their blood related or not. I highly recommend this in every other book Emily has written you'll be enthralled and absolutely addicted.
Jade is Asa's temporary assistant. She is dealing with a family situation that she does not want to interfere with her job. Asa has plans for Jade but she won't let him help her. What can happen when you mix a strong female with a strong male and stir in family, MC club, tattoo artists with a dash of sleazy guys?? There is laughter, tears, possible screaming, and love, lots of love throughout this book.
Well another great read, full of steam, charm, laughter, angst! I totally loved Ada and his humor, angst, charm, sexiness. He didn’t think he would settle down funny how Jade changed him! JadeI wanted to shack trying to handle her troubles from everyone, truly thinking she could get ahead of it all! Seeing old friends and of course my favorite the Coven! I laughed and swooned at this great read!❤️❤️
After reading Maverick I didn’t think it could get any better. Well it did. Asa is the baby and the jokester of the family . We’ve been waiting for him to get tamed by the right woman and Jada was perfect for the role. This book has everything, from intrigue, sexy times, amazing family dynamics , to a perfect love story. Don’t miss out and read the latest Lincoln family book, absolutely a wonderful book.
Asa and Jade, two characters that from the first moment, you know they are perfect for each other. Jade isn't my favorite female character. Her pride kept her from accepting help when she and her father first needed it. Took some situations to happen in front of Asa and Eli, for her to say anything.
The twist of Cox family, wasn't expecting that. Nope, not at all.
Book two in the Lincoln Billionaires series. Jade is Asa new assistant. Asa is part owner of the company she works for. Asa loves teasing (sunshine) jade more then his next breath. Jade comes with lots of problems and she don’t need to add one more. Asa is hard to miss. So when her troubles come knocking Asa is their to save her. Finally she gives up. She need someone to take care of her. So she gives him all of her just like he said she would.
