Love at Rosecrown Ranch is the first book in the Rosecrown Ranch series by Ruth Pendleton. It is the story of Jenny Stratton, fresh off a devastating break up, needs a break and Hank Miner, ranch hand on her grandmother’s ranch, wants nothing to do with Jenny. Hank doesn’t trust the city girl despite her beauty and bravery. But soon they are forced to work together and the lines quickly become blurred as their attraction becomes a distraction they both are trying to avoid. Jenny must decide between the life she left behind and the life she has discovered on the ranch with Hank. Home is where the heart is, Jenny needs to decide if it’s in the city she left behind or on the ranch and Hank in front of her.
Love at Rosecrown Ranch is a sweet romance with deeper issues of grief, heartbreak and finding a way to move forward and love again. I enjoyed Jenny and Hank as people with deep wounds from heartbreaks, both reluctant to open their hearts again but can’t help being drawn to each other. My one complaint is Jenny’s “friends” who constantly berate her for still being weeping over her breakup. Is anyone really over a devastating breakup in 3 weeks? Especially when Jenny was anticipating a very different outcome? I feel they were being too harsh with her. Overall, I enjoyed this story. It is the type of romance that leaves you with a smile and sigh of happiness. I recommend Love at Rosecrown Ranch and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Minor spoilers ahead
Overall, I loved the story and the characters. However, I really missed some more background information about them, mainly Hank. I thought he was unnecessarily rude to Jenny when they first met and I was hoping that maybe there was some other deeper meaning for his behavior than the fact that another “city girl” had broken his heart before, but nope. That was it. Not enough, if you ask me. We also learn nothing about his parents, only that they are alive. I also felt like the ending was rushed as if the author couldn’t wait to finish it and be done with it. The epilogue made me feel as if I’d skipped some pages and missed a scene. Kind of disconnected. But it is an easy and cute heartwarming read.

A Sweet, Cozy Romance
If you're looking for a light, cozy, romance story that's easy to read, this could be a good choice for you. I enjoyed almost everything about the story. The extreme nature of the MC's early days together seemed a bit over-the-top. That could just be me, though. I did like that they eventually talked to each other about different things. I also liked that it was a clean read.
Overall, this was a good book. I don't know if I'll read more in the series, though.

Jenny heads to her grandmother’s ranch in Montana to get over a broken romance. There she finds a handsome ranch hand that gives her some challenges with his attitude. This was an entertaining read. The author tells a good story, in spite of some small details that seemed a little questionable. Jenny seemed prone to hurt herself constantly. I guess I prefer stories about stronger women. Also, I agree with the other reviewer who noticed several discrepancies about the terms you would use and the behavior of horses on a ranch. If you have horses, these stand out immediately.

I was blessed with a grandmother like Jo Jo so this story did pull at the heart a bit. Jumping to conclusions becomes Jenny and Hank’s exercise program. They start out with one thing in common, love for Jo Jo. I enjoyed this story and immediately read the next two. I’m just sorry there isn’t a fourth.

Wonderful story of city gal and farmer. Jennie decided to visit her grandmother and met a handsome. Cowboy. I was hoping Hank would leave the farm and purchase his own place. I felt sorry for him when Jennie left to go back to the city and they brought David back. It seemed no one thought about Hank feelings. I loved this book.

I am a romantic at heart and reading a cowboy love story always warms my heart! Against the backdrop of Rosecrown Ranch a beautiful romance unfolded. The characters in this country love tory were real and engaging. The birth of Bacon was beautiful written and so special and who would not want a Grandma Jo Jo around. Glad to have discovered another favorite author. Thank you Ruth!

Perfect, light enchanting read. I needed a good summer read for an escape during the COVID stressful times. This took me away to a sweet ranch in Montana with a handsome ranch hand named Hank. This book is sweet romance defined and I adored it. I may have read it twice. Please, no judgement. ;)

This was a cozy lite. A fairly quick read, filled with too many mishaps, one after the other. The characters were interesting, but as a reader I felt too much anger throughout the whole read. Also, for a modern type book, this was out of date especially for FMLA and senior's dating.il

I enjoyed reading about Hank and Jenny. They had their ups and downs, but they were good for each other. The characters were likable and had personalities.

An exciting story, finding true love ,Hank and Jenny. He thought Jo Jo's granddaughter had come to sell the ranch. She was a real estate agent in a very large company. They had a difficult begining but had to work at finsing tjair true love.
