Forensic chemists and toxicologists work with drugs and poisons, but they each start with different evidence, and often work in labs associated with a medical examiner's office or a hospital. This book touches on all aspects of forensic chemsitry.
I have a great interest in chemistry ever since I took the Advanced Chemistry course at school. Learning about topics not covered in class expanded my understanding on the different ways chemistry is used to solve crimes. Since one of my dream careers is to be a forensic scientist, I picked out this book that covers important tests to detect poisons, drugs and other harmful chemicals on certain crime subjects. A couple of things I learned from this book were the Marsh test and how it briefly works, and the methods used to detect the presence of illegal drugs, such as cocaine and marijuana. To those of you that like watching CSI and want to learn more about how the scientists work with drugs and poisons, I recommend you to read this book. It holds a lot of information that can be useful for your own knowledge.
