Romantic B&D with a Future Twist from the #1 Bestselling Author of Erotica!
All young women in the Colony, they have been indoctrinated since birth by the State with the belief that they will find fulfillment only by becoming the property of a male when they turn nineteen. Their new masters will breed them, keeping them as pets until they are passed their peak fertility years.
About to be nineteen, Jesalin, on the other hand, is a rebel. She's determined to hang onto her freedom at any cost. Even if it means breaching the walls of the Colony and journeying into the dreaded, post-apocalyptic Outlands.
Jeslian's on the verge of escape through a secret tunnel when she discovers a mysterious prisoner, a huge, muscular barbarian. The man's captor is a powerful Colony official concocting a plot to overthrow the government. He intends to silence Jesalin by making her his slave, but when the barbarian escapes and kidnaps Jesalin across the wall she finds herself subject to a form of domination and sexual bondage no Colony woman has dared dream of.
Reese Gabriel is a born romantic with a taste for the edgier side of love. Having traveled the world and sampled many of the finer things, Reese now enjoys the greater simplicities -- barefoot walks by the ocean, kisses under moonlight and whispers of passion in the darkness with that one special person.
Preferring to remain behind the scenes, cherished by a precious few, Reese hopes to awaken in the lives of many the possibilities of true love through stories of far off places and enchanted lives.
World building melted away about 1/3 in and the integrity of the main character turned into Swiss cheese. She went from being strong/intelligent heroine determined to make her own fate to a collection of clenching/tightening/aching:dripping body parts at the first nipple tweak.
And the premise of captured by the barbarian and surviving in the Outlands pretty much never happened until the last couple of pages, ie under developed & a disappointment.
The barbarian was underdeveloped basically a a big dick on a grunting slab of muscle.
I was attracted to this book because the cover reminded me of the Gor series of books by John Norman. The Gorean books are Dr. Suess compared to this work. Don't get me wrong, it's a great book if you're into fantasies about female bondage, humiliation and abuse. Otherwise, steer clear of this bad boy, as it's graphic, extreme, and left me feeling a little like a prude. But I think I'm actually okay with that, all things considering.
