FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU’RE DESTINED FOR, BECAUSE THERE IS NO ESCAPING FATE.
The greatest enemy in ten-thousand-years has returned, his ambition to destroy the realm of Endence still very much alive. Yet despite the war that is looming and the Chimaera Noteas plans to unleash, making it to the Oracle’s temple to earn the answers she desperately needs without killing Kit first might just be the most difficult task Alora has ever faced.
Kit’s unwavering loyalty to Farro has put him at her side, but his intentions for protecting her are questionable at best. Except, when the arrogant spy makes a vow to Alora, she finds it hard to remember she’s not supposed to trust him. And for where destiny leads them, trusting Kit with her life isn’t an option—it’s vital if she wants to make it out alive.
But Alora’s mere existence might be the very reason no one makes it out alive at all...
Now that I’ve recovered, I can fully say if I have to wait another year for the next book I will cry every day until it comes out.
This series is unlike anything I’ve ever read before, and I’ve read A LOT.
Within this book we continue to follow the journey of Alora’s to her destiny. Constantly challenged by those around her she becomes the one thing they all fear, change. Tested and tried through trial after Trail the meek human Alora once was changes into a feral little beast willing to kill for those she loves. While her journey through this book is one filled with demons, angels, gods, a spy and many others when we finally conclude this story you’ll be BEGGING for the next.
Kit has one purpose, to protect Alora, bring her into her power and show her how wrong she is about herself. He challenges every fiber of her being, proves to her that the power she holds will be unlike anything this world or the next has ever seen. While their journey starts out as one of heart ache it slowly forms into one of trust and something a little more. As the spy for the summer court, his secrets are his to keep but what comes will slowly unravel the foundation of everything he’s worked so hard to hide. And in the end? Well, let’s just say even I didn’t see it coming until it already happened. 😭
This book is seriously such a masterpiece and one I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. The world building, every character, and even the plot twists are so beautifully written it’s hard to fall into any other book after this one. If you’re looking for a book that’s filled with the following I HIGHLY recommend reading this series:
-Fae Romance -Broody Males -Coming into power -Intense heavy plot twists -Major Battles -Gods/Angels vs Fae -Enemies to Lovers -Many Secrets -Great World building -An ending that will have you screaming for more
Thank you KM Parke and Booksires for the opportunity to read this ARC. I’m literally in shambles 😊
I have had to take about a week off and practically stare at a wall from the sheer book hangover this masterpiece has left me in! All my unanswered questions from book one came to fruition throughout this story but in true K.M. Parke fashion I have been left with a new barrage of questions awaiting for book 3. I described the way the author world builds as creating a watercolour; where layers of new material, characters and worlds are slowly built upon each other and you walk through them seamlessly. The slowburn almost made me deceased but when the spice finally hit I was speechless and flushed! And that’s coming from a dark romance reader! I laughed, I cried and I felt every emotion each character was feeling this is genuinely beautiful and nothing short of a masterpiece - if you enjoy Romantasy this is an absolute must read, you will not be disappointed.
Okay now that I feel that I have emotionally recovered let me explain.
I was honoured to be able to read this as an ARC, but I do promise that my review is completely unbiased and purely based off how the book made me feel and the experience that I was given and let me tell you, I was not disappointed at all.
It shocks me that these books are K.Ms debut novels because she can do fantasy so well. Sometimes I find that fantasy can be super overwhelming with the endless elements of lore and side characters who play important roles in small contexts, but no matter how much knowledge was laid out in front of me, I never once felt dettered or overwhelmed just engrossed and needing to know more.
Now I'm just going to be basic and just go on a rampage and tell you everything I loved. The characters and the banter between them was absolutely amazing. I was G I G G L I N G to myself majority of the book and kicking my little feet like I had just gotten my first crush as a 11 year old. The men in this book are built different and this is one of those fantasies where I wanna be in it.
The shock factor this book gave me left me speechless. I have always said that I feel that I am really good at predicting any kind of plot twist, but this book had my speechless at times. Not saying there is some massive plot twists, but there were times where I was like ... what the f*** just happened?!
Overall this book was one of the best things to start my year off with. 5 stars and absolutely amazing. I highly highly recommend this series for everyone who loves a well thought out fantasy, characters who feel so real and genuine to the point where sometimes they would say things I resonated with so much that I cried from just feeling seen and also if you want to support an amazing author who has created this amazing world for all of us to enjoy.
Thank you so much for the ARC! I hope I am considered for the next one, because I don't know how I am gonna survive waiting for you to write it!
Holy moly. I devoured this book. It grabbed a hold of me on page 1 and did not let go until the very last word.
I couldn’t put this book down. The story was so easy to follow while being fast paced and jam packed with information. And oh my gosh the twists!! They kept on coming and knocking me for 6! I was so blown away by this book.
I loved (and loved to hate) every single character. Their back stories, personalities, just everything was written to perfection. I also loved the inner monologue of the FMC, Alora. Something that was unique and also helps feel like you are inside her mind and putting all the information together to figure everything out.
Kit will forever and always have my heart.
Thank you to KM for an ARC of this book. I’m so grateful.
it has been a LONNNGGGG TIME since a book has made me feel like this. I dont even think i read a book - I was watching a movie in my HEAD! KM Parke is so great at world building and painting a vivid picture. SO fast paced.. think SJM but you dont get bored at any point or feel like ALL the action is in the last hundred pages (with KMP its just some of the MOST INSANE action happens then). AMAZING banter and the climax of this love story was one of the best if not better than ANY fantasy I have read. Period full stop. & I was very nervous going into the book since it left on such a crazy cliffhanger, but I quickly got lost in the adventure this one.
Alora is a badass. So smart and cunning. Kit............... i have no words. I mean i have a lot of words but i dont want to spoil anything for my friends who HAVE TO READ THIS SERIES NOW.
I NEED BOOK 3!!! Im gonna guess the title for funsies..
Toward the Stars - Book One From the Sun - Book Two Over the Moon???? Lol
What an absolutely amazing second book! All of my questions from book one were answered but it wouldn’t be K.M if she didn’t leave you with more questions!
I laughed, I cried, I bawled like a baby, I got angry and I felt things (IYKYK)!! It was a roller coaster! The twists kept coming and coming
I loved all the characters and loved to hate some too ;) …. Kit you will always be in my heart ❤️
I am not sure I have enough strength to write this review.
I don’t think there are even words that can adequately describe how I am feeling after reading this book.
The absolute chokehold this story, and these characters have me in is concerning.
I quite literally have not stopped thinking about this book from the moment I picked it up to the second I put it down and beyond.
The relationships, the banter, the characters as individuals - everything has me on my knees at KM’s feet.
And even though this is a slowwwww burn the spice be spicin’. Oh my good gods I need to know where to find me a man like that.
I was happy to see that some of my predictions from the first book did eventuate (yay me, I am so SMRT) but there was so much that came out of left field and took me by surprise. I was guessing, second guessing, fact checking and doing all the things.
And the absolute emotional roller coaster this book took me on was WILD. I definitely need 3-5 business days to recover.
No word of a lie this series is at the top of my list along with Zodiac Academy and Fourth Wing.
I can’t fathom how this is only KM’s second book - it reads like a seasoned professional. I can’t wait to finish this series and watch KM grow and develop as an author.
AMAZING! Just like TTS I couldn’t but this book down. Such an amazing story! I had goosebumps towards the end and was shook haha. I honestly don’t have words to express how much I love this book and TTS! 😭 HIGHLY recommend!
I have had to take about a week off and practically stare at a wall from the sheer book hangover this masterpiece has left me in! Holy shit to put simply. An immediate 5/5 for me. The twist and turns that entailed throughout had me on the floor. Several nights of late reading till 2am as something huge occured and I kept reading and reading. Truly one of the best book series I've ever read and I don't know how I'm going to be able to wait for book 3.
Once again, I had the utter inexplicable privilege of beta reading for KM Parke, and once again I was far from disappointed.
This follow up to her debut ‘Toward the Stars’ manages to keep the momentum of the first installment while ramping up the stakes for Alora and friends. I was kept on my toes guessing of the identity of her moiety (think soulmate, if you’re not familiar with the series yet!), and while I *did* guess their identity accurately, they did not reveal themself to Alora in a way I could have predicted and that made the reveal *delicious*. 🥵 (and yes, I’m being purposely vague!)
The Google Doc she shared with me is now full of all-caps question word fragments (‘WHAT’) and multiple exclamation points without any accompanying statements (‘!!!’) as comments, especially in the last half, as well as multiple comments about me swooning like a Victorian debutante with a too-tight corset in need of smelling salts and my dissertation level reasons why one person in particular is endgame for our heroine.
Alora and friends have an uphill battle ahead of them, and I, for one, can’t wait to see how they get out of this jam in the next installment.
So, if you like surprise identity reveals, devastating character deaths, the big bad masquerading as someone innocuous, snarky-flirty training montages, even snarkier Gods, supernatural weapons that do way more than advertised on the box, found family, surprise coronations, and trials of fate… please consider this your invitation to explore Endence.
I could cry thinking about every little part of this book that pulled at my emotions and tugged at my heart. And the full body chills I would get over and over again - not many books do that. And can we talk about the ending….how can I wait any longer for a 3rd book!?!?
I only grew to love Alora more in this book, which sometimes can take me a while with these FMCs in fantasies!
The amount of twists and turns this book had also left me reeling. I figured out one major plot twist about half way through but it only made me so much more excited to see if I was right and I quite literally screamed when I found out I was. And the twists didn’t end there and I’m still trying to figure out every detail I might have skimmed over too quickly, with the sheer speed at which I read this book.
SWOONING over the love story. It was everything I wanted yet left me wanting so much more.
And can we talk about Kit 😏
Add this series to your top fantasy lists ASAP. Talk about a book hangover. If you like SJM, fourth wing, blood & ash, etc. you will devour this series.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series (Toward the Stars), but I think K.M. Parke really found their stride with this second book. You will NOT be disappointed if you pick up this series! I think Parke does an excellent job with weaving in lovable tropes (enemies to lovers) without falling into the trap of boring/predictable. You might get whiplash with the way you start rooting for different characters in book 2 but its in such a fun way. An excellent balance of world-building and plot leaves you only wanting more by the end of the book. I am dying for book 3 - I haven't felt this excited about a series in quite a while. Dare I say worthy of an acotar hangover?
*Spoilers Ahead*

Kit says he will crawl for her but I would crawl for him - my god. I love every word out of his mouth and when you find out why he calls her Treasure it is an absolute delight. Want to kick your feet and scream over a fictional man? Read this book.
After reading Toward the Stars, I was excited to read into From the Sun, and it didn’t disappoint. I liked Kit much more in this one—his character had more time to develop, and we got to really know him. Alora is still a solid character, but she can be frustrating, especially when she finds herself in situations where she doesn't fully use her training or think through the prophecies. I get that she didn’t grow up Fae, but I wanted to see more problem-solving from her instead of lashing out.
The plot twist was done well, even though it was something that readers could suspect. I loved how Alora stayed true to herself and was determined to make her own choices, resisting the idea of just accepting her destiny because she was supposed to. Overall, I’m glad I continued with the series, and I’ll definitely be checking for the release of the next book. I’m looking forward to seeing Alora step into her role and embrace what’s destined for her.
I have never been left speechless after a twist ending until this book. The identity reveal will live rent-free in my head forever.
Back to the review. In the book, the reader is dropped right where the first book left off. Alora is with Kit, trying to master her powers as they journey to get answers. At the start of the journey, they fight each other at every opportunity. As the plot unfolds, they start to trust each other more and more. Well, as much as anyone can trust a spy who is keeping some secrets to himself. I have no words for the twist ending other than the reread of this book has me as excited as I was a week ago when I started this book. Our merry band of friends and family have quite the journey ahead of them, and I can not wait to read more.
I never tought Im gonna fall for a redhead but here I am and totally in luv with Kit!
Again this book was amaaaazing! I still luv the worldbuilt and the story lane and the heroine ahh she is a warrior princess thru and thru!
Hahhh Im soooo sooo rooting to Kit and then Killian?! OMG and of course Farro… I couldnt wait to meet/see him finally…. ahh that tension…
And of course the action throughout the whole book is amazing!!!
I just hope I can get to B3 as soon as its out 🤩
So again Im so thankful for BookSirens inviting me here as I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily and so so high up on this cliffhanger ending…
The Plot: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Characters:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Writing:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Character Interactions:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ World building:⭐⭐⭐⭐
The author is a talented writer who was able to write a sequel that was entertaining and hard to put down. There is very little I disliked about this book and I can say that I will read every other book this author writes, her writing is incredibly fun to read.
Thank you to the author K. M. Parke as well as BookSirens for providing me with an ARC(Advanced Reader Copy) of this book completely free of charge in exchange for my honest review.
The book was amazing and was even more enjoyable than the previous one. The romance was a slow burn and was quite well done. I loved all the characters with the exception of one (yes you, killian). I liked the world building and the plot was so intense i finished the entire book in a single sitting. Can't wait for the next book especially after THAT ending.
Thank you so much for the ARC! I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Soooo I was right and wrong about who Alora’s Moiety😆. I freaking loved this book so much! All the twists and turns. There’s heartbreak, loss, epic love and it ends on a cliffhanger. Which means GIMME BOOK 3🤭🫶🏼🫶🏼
Once again if you enjoyed the ACOTAR series you will enjoy this without a doubt! Has all the elements AND MORE. After I finished acotar I was hunting for a series just like it but different in its on unique way and THIS ticked all my boxes ☺️
Okay. First, I want to say that I've been reading this series thinking it's a reverse harem. It is not. I was also thinking there would be spice. It's minimal at best. The plot twists were twisting so I'll give you that. And book is still slow as hell if not even more slow than book 1.
Also, again, if I had a dollar for every time a FMC decides to go alone in a situation and it ends badly, I would be a millionaire.
P.s. why did you hate poor lito this much?!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
What have you done to me?! This series was consuming! I can feel the book slump emerging and i dont know how i'm going to move on from this world and its characters. . .
The banter had me laughing, the tension had me wound up like a spring, the plot twists had my stomach feeling like I was on a roller-coaster. And the yearning, OMGOSH THE YEARNING!!! I sleep, eat, and drink yearning, and this book was satisfying all of me 😭❤️🙌
This book is outstanding but like what just happened I need book 3 immediately I cannot stand the torment and I’ve only just finished Honesty 6 stars I would sell my soul for the complete series this book tore my heart out put it back in and then ripped it clean back out again… Thank you for letting me have an arc of this book and I recommend this series to anyone and everyone
I fell in love with these characters in book 1 and was so excited to join them on this adventure of self-discovery and battles and friendship this series needs to be talked about more and I would love a real-life Kit all his good and bad I just melt for him. The ending had me on the edge of my seat and Alora drives me crazy! This book had me giggling and gasping and just out right wrecked.
Long time reader, first time reviewer because I cannot stop myself from praising this book. I thought I loved the first book in the series, but From the Sun shattered my expectations. From the adventures, trials, and world building to the romance, enemies to lovers, twists and turns, and witty banter; this story kept me entertained and enthralled from page one. I need the next book in this series desperately. Thank you K.M Parke for this lovely piece of writing.
i fear i am obsessed. i truly can’t believe this isn’t on more people’s radars this is what every fantasy romance lover NEEDS !!!! i was so gagged at a certain plot twist in this one… definitely didn’t see it coming but it honestly made so much sense after it was revealed. idk i love this story i love the characters i love it all
Ahhhhh!!! Omg that ending!?! Why!?! I loved this book so damn much! There are twists and turns everywhere! At three different points in the book I messaged the author and was like what? why? how dare you!?! Just wow I need a book 3 like now!! How dare you end it like that what!?!
