description
The Written Review

"...screams spread across the valley and echoed off the canyon walls.
Indeed, The Turning Point had begun."

Ruby has been through the wringer - zombies, vampires, the whole nine yards.

Things have finally calmed down, at least a little bit, but one desperate call sends Ruby flying out into the night.

"Truth was: danger never considered anyone's needs or wants. Danger had no timelock, or schedule. It never abided by any civilized rules."

Irene, Ruby's long-time friend and wife of the POTUS, attempted an experimental cure (with emphasis on the experiment part) for her stage-4 cancer.

Unfortunately, the experimental cure was a colossal failure. With Irene's passing fresh in her mind, Ruby turns to go home.

But then the unthinkable happens.

"She had forgotten what it felt like to be a victim."

Ruby is an incredibly tight spot.

Her family is miles away and are dealing with issues of their own - the animals are rising up.

It's become increasingly apparent that the balance between Earth and Athanasia.

With the animals becoming more and more unsettled - it will take the Tether to unite them... but what can the world do when the one and only tether is missing?

Ahhh. It's been such a fun journey with this series and I'm so sorry to see it end.

I've been with The ELI Chronicles from the start and I've adored reading each book from the series.

I absolutely LOVE the way Ash portrays family in her series - it feels like so many books focus on family breaking apart or struggling.

But in this book, the family is strong and immobile with the rest of the world providing the conflict.

I loved watching Ruby grow and develop over the years - and this book, whew. She was fabulous.

I also adored watching Gabby as she grew up and into her powers. She's such a realistic kid.

And Clay? Well, I'm leaving what happens to him as a surprise but suffice to say - took me by COMPLETE surprise and yet it was perfect.

The plot this round...I have to admit when I first read it I wasn't sure how it could work. Ash's books are already so jam-packed and I thought, "talking animals? Surely not."

And yet...it worked so well.

It added just the right dimension to the book and provided a unique and fabulously interesting plot direction.

All in all, I absolutely loved this book series and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Julia's next book is right around the corner.

P.s. here's one of my fave quotes from the book:

"You're alive."
"I'm a vampire. Technically, I'm undead - which mostly falls on the spectrum of the deceased."

A huge thank you to Julia Ash for sending me an ebook arc and publishing her final book with a quote from me in it! Also, thank you for sending me a signed copy in exchange for an honest review.

Superb, excellent, loved it!!

It took me a while to finish this book, I got unexpected company. The whole time all I could think about was reading the rest of this book, it was driving me crazy.
Once I could sit down to read it, it certainly didn’t disappoint. It was amazing, I loved getting lost in the story again. As with the first two books, this one was full of surprises, action and thing’s you don’t see coming. It kept me on my toes.
The President was a real looser, but aren’t they all lol. Although, he might have lost it after the devastation he endured. However he had nefarious plans even before that.
What happens to Clay ends up being quite a blessing. Clay Ruby’s husband, also a scientist and father of their daughter Gabby. He’s more laidback than Ruby, happy to let her take the lead, do more of the talking. They compliment each other and are very much in love. He under goes some remarkable changes, taking on much more of an important roll. Will this turn into a power struggle between him and Ruby?
I felt the characters grew as the story went on. Learnt about themselves and each other more and more, just like it should be. They evolved with their experience, time and knowledge.
I can’t even express in words, how much I enjoyed and appreciated this series. I never lost interest or focus. I did get annoyed when interrupted while I was reading. Don’t people know when someone is intensely reading, you don’t bother them geez!!
Gabby was an amazing kid that’s for sure, very smart and intelligent. I loved watching her character evolve. She’s a very special young girl with quite a future ahead of her.
There’s another character, that does some real soul searching and changes tremendously. Through his actions of the past, he evaluates how he got where he is. All the evil, selfish things he did along with being a control freak. He becomes a great friend and asset, once he admits his faults and changes (I can’t revel the person sorry). Truly all the characters evolved as the story goes on, like I said above and it’s something that not all Authors do with there characters. So it was a nice touch.
The animals cause quite a lot of trouble, with there attacking people and anger over how they’re treated. You find out what happens in this book.
Ruby the main female character is amazing, I love her character. She’s an accomplished scientist working with the President (in the beginning), a mother and wife. She’s a strong female lead. She gets things done, no sniveling woman here. Ruby kicks ass and takes names, she’s also kind, caring, loving and fair.
I personally found everything flowed smoothly, everything was interesting, it held my attention throughout, their was character evolvement, the story evolves as it goes on, as it should. I really can’t complain about anything except for the fact that it ended.

Thank you to the Author Julia Ash, for asking me to read and review this series. I loved it, really enjoyed all three books. It was definitely my pleasure. Each review is my honest opinion on the books.

ARC provided by the loveliest author out there, the dear Julia Ash, in exchange for an honest review :))

Wow! What a book! Plot twist after plot twist turned this into a shocking story that surprised me at every turn, and I loved it. Add in the hints of romance and the beautiful friendships and family relationships, and this was a really intricate and captivating conclusion to a wonderful series.

I loved Zagan and Ruby's relationship with all my heart, can I just say that, first of all. Their bond and the way their relationship developed.... it was so gorgeous and completely believeable, and I just all-round love Zagan and his snark. I also really liked the rest of Athanasia's characters, all the kings and queens are wonderfully depicted people (or other hehe) and they're such wonderful friends to Ruby, it's really heartwarming.

All up this was a brilliant story, chock full of plot twists and stressful moments where I couldn't help but clutch my pillow in fear. Thank you so much for the brilliant series you've so very kindly gifted me, Julia darling, I will forever treasure it and I can't wait to see what you write next!!

The Turning Point by Julia Ash is the third book in the ELI Chronicles. Thank you to Julia, for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Read my reviews of the first two books in the series:

The ELI Chronicles Series
#1 The One and Only - ★★★★
#2 The Tether - ★★★★
#3 The Turning Point - ★★★★

The Turning Point continues where the previous book left off. If you haven’t read the previous books in the series, I would recommend reading my review on the first book - The One and Only, as this review contains spoilers from the other two previous books. Now that you have been warned, I can safely continue. :)

Ruby Spencer has continuously saved the world.

First, it was the zombie infection. Then, she was turned into a vampire against her will. In the first book we found out her blood was special, and in the second book - we find out why. Her blood was a result of a donor from another planet, which she ended up saving in the second book. And this time - the planet needs help again. But also this time - Ruby might not be the one that can save it.

Because the animals have their own language, and Ruby cannot understand it. If she could understand them, she would know that they are tired of being puppets to the humans and the vampires. And wolves are more than happy to lead this rebelion.

Without an alpha that can fight for their rights and lead their uprising, the animals will destroy everything in front of them. Ruby is the only one who can connect the animals with their rightful king - is she could only find him.

I have to admit, I struggled a bit at the beginning, when at one point we were introduced to all the different creatures and abilities (zombies, vampires, sculpting, werewolves, multiple planets, search for the true king). While the first and second book were more focused on one part of the story, in this book we had all of the different aspects colliding into one. And despite my struggles at the beginning, it all worked out in the end.

I really loved this book, and it was a perfect last book to conclude this series.

The ending was beautiful and I enjoyed the final few twists, where you couldn’t trust anyone. I loved the love this family had for each other, and how kind and generous they always are. They care so much for each other, it's really nice to read it. It was such an adventurous ride, and I was eager to know how it ended. I am also glad they gave Zagan another chance to prove he changed, and that he deserves another chance at life.

If you have read my previous reviews - you will know me and Clay don’t really get along. But this book changed my opinion a bit, and I actually ended up liking his character and his story in this book. (surprise, surprise).

The ELI Chronicles, as a whole, is a series not only about zombie apocalypse, vampires, werewolves, rightful kings and special abilities, but also a story about the true power of one family, and their love for each other. Julia Ash managed to combine these two things into the books so well, and make this journey not only adventurous, but also heartwarming.

And I have to say - I am glad that I am part of it by reading this series.

I am glad I have experienced this book, and grown together with it. Thinking of where I was on my journey when I started the first book, and where I am now, I can understand and appreciate this story way more and connect better with it. Definitely a must-read for all fans of sci-fi, adventure and thrillers.

Amazing and suspenseful!

Ruby, human turned vampire, Gabby her daughter loved by all. Then there’s her husband who supports his wife's choices. Vampires, changelings, and a planet of animals wanting to destroy them. Mad scientist and demented leaders behind it all. Let’s not forget prophecy. Book three is no disappointment of the series. Julia Ash is as creative as she is keeping you wanting more. She’s done amazing on this series. I’m sad to see it end but anticipating what she writes next!! She has hooked me on the combination of fantasy combined with darkness.

The Turning Point is the final part of the brilliant ELI (Extinction Level Infection) Chronicles dark fantasy Trilogy about The One and Only, Ruby Spencer, whose special blood repeatedly saves the world. Don’t even think about starting this until you’ve read the other two - there would just be too much to catch up on and you need to know the characters’ history for it to all make sense. If you haven’t, stop reading now, and go buy them, as there will be spoilers for those books in my summary.

This begins right where The Tether ended, with Ruby visiting the White House to try and help the First Lady, who has been turned into a mutant in a last ditch attempt to cure her cancer. Incensed that Ruby would not use her healing blood to help previously, the President captures her and hands her over to the freshly pardoned Mad Scientist Emory Bradshaw and evil former Russian President Vladimir Volkov, who transport her to a secret base in Siberia for their latest nefarious plan - to create an army of super-wolves using her blood.

Meanwhile another ancient prophecy is coming true, with the animals of three planets beginning a revolution to overthrow the “Uprights” - humans and vampires who have abused and exploited them for too long. Luckily Ruby has loyal friends - including a surprising former foe who’s undergone a major attitude adjustment - and she’s no longer the Only One who can save the day.

So obviously this genre isn’t for everyone - and this series actually mixes up urban and traditional fantasy, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic and action tropes - but I’ve loved it. It has the relentlessly fast-pace of Young Adult fiction, but featuring adults in their 30s, without the usual tedious romance/relationship elements - I love that Ruby and Clay stay happily married throughout. This injects fresh blood into standard vampire mythology (haha see what I did there) and is able to throw in telepathic animals, teleportation to other universes, shifters and even ghosts, without derailing the overall plot.

It is more violent than I remembered the others being, or expected this one to be, with some distressing scenes of animal slaughter - mostly by other animals. While the first one was about zombies, and the second vampires, there are ridiculously evil humans in each book - I’ve lost count of how often Ruby has been betrayed through the trilogy - but rest assured the baddies always get what’s coming to them - eventually - including sometimes, refreshingly, redemption. Ruby’s an awesome heroine and now little Gabby is following in her footsteps.

My sincere thanks to Julia for the free copy for an unbiased review.
Oh and PS this cover is the most stunning of them all!

In my humble opinion, The Turning Point, earns 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5 because this is really great and a great series I hope others will try. I don’t normally split ratings, but more on that in a sec…

This book was a fitting end to an exciting, hugely expansive world and story. The Turning Point manages to show us more of the universe and the realms comprising it, focusing on Besto Polus, the “Planet of the Animals.” I love animals (in fact my cat is trying to contribute to this review as we speak – but he can’t quite come to grips that walking on my keyboard isn’t actually typing) so that was a creative element that I really appreciated. (Oh, and I really loved the map at the very beginning).

So it was cool to see Clay grow and have a bigger part that got fleshed out. He was always a complete character, but with this final volume, he added new ways to contribute to the fight against evil. And I was pleasantly reading the suspense as to Zagan and

So the only thing that leads me splitting on this one was that even when there were fights and Ruby seemed in trouble, I had a hard time convincing myself she was ever actually in jeopardy. Ruby, as you know if you’ve read The One and Only and The Tether, pretty much has godlike powers. The . But with Ruby’s massive powers, Ash set up a really challenging storytelling dilemma. The same stuff that makes Ruby such a bad-ass and a compelling hero also made it (for me at least) a bit curious how she could ever really be opposed or be in danger. For example, Ruby has this Don’t get me wrong, this was an amazing story and this is a very soft thought and I might be missing something or over-thinking it. It happens. It was just something I thought about.

It’s not easy to write stories. It’s hard to write a compelling story. It’s even harder to keep the energy and interest. But Julia Ash is one of the few indie writers I can think of that can do that. So very well done.

The grand finale of this series delivers! The drama kicks off with super smart, special-life-saving-blood/turned-into-a-vampire heroine, Ruby Spencer, as she tries to save the President’s wife (from a cancer treatment gone naked mole rat wrong. Intrigued yet?). The creative scenarios are wild, and I loved every imaginative twist and turn. The plot unfolds with Ruby intent on doing the right thing while trying to save her husband and daughter. Gabby is now nine years old, also with special powers, including sculpting and mind reading/whispering.

Clayton finally gets into the act with an amazing super-power of his own, that is crucial to the animal uprising. There is so much going on in this creative combustion of good vs. evil—filled with humor, heart, (hearts!), and a satisfying ending!

5 daring stars

for the conclusion of one of the most daring series I have ever read!

'The One and Only?
I've learned there's no such thing. Everyone can rise as a hero if they choose to become the best they can be. Everyone plays a role, everyone has gifts, even if they aren't of the immortal variety.'

The Eli Chronicles starts as an apocalyptic thriller featuring bioterorism and zombies, and heads straight off into fantasy with book 2, adding alien vampires, prophecies and a whole lot of fantasy elements into the mix. Only to end it all on an even higher note, with this third installment, that gives us talking animals, shifters and much more.
I would have never imagined the series to head down this route. And if you had told me about it, my reaction would have been a clear cut: No Way!! This won't work at all!!
Except that it did!

Julia Ash pulled it like a charm. Using a blend of genres, from apocalyptic thriller to sci-fi, myth and fantasy, she seamlessly weaves them together creating a unique and fabulous tale in which everything connects and falls into rhythm perfectly.

Daring, unorthodox, extremely imaginative and downright ballsy, this series is in itself a kind of 'One and Only' in the fantasy genre. An I loved every single page of it!

The Turning Point picks up straight off from the end of book 2, when Ruby answers the desperate call of the POTUS. The experimental cure he had attempted for his wife's cancer sort of backfired. That's precisely what you get when meddling with dark science, but when a man is desperate, logic and reason are all but eradicated by insane determination. And when same man is faced with a colossal failure, grief gives birth to anger and revenge in the blink of an eye. And Ruby is the target.
Because she is The One and Only who failed to rescue the first lady, she is now made to pay.

Ruby has been an invincible vampire for so long that she had forgotten what it felt like to be a victim. And this is exactly what she becomes now, held tight in the clutches of Emory Bradshaw. I already grew to hate this man in book 2 but now he made all my hackles rise! I swear every time he called someone 'girlfriend' I felt like punching him straight in the face.

With this mad scientist here, Julia Ash created one heck of character to absolutely hate! Kudos for that!

But back to the plot because I digress. :D Ruby goes missing and her family is desperately trying to find her. All the while being faced with an unexpected, but already prophesied problem.
The natural order on Earth and Athanasia is about to shift. Animals are tired of being underdogs to humans and vampires. And wolves are more than happy to lead a rebellion.

The Tether is the Only One who who can connect the animals with their rightful king. But to do that, Ruby must first escape and even trust.
Trust is fickle. Difficult to gain and easy to loose.
And sometimes, the only thing that can help. And Ruby will need all the help she can get if she wants to come out of her predicament alive.

The Turning Point is even more fast paced than it's predecessors. Just as full of edge of the seat action and twists and turns that you don't see coming. Just as unique and fabulously intriguing.

Ruby continues to grow as a character, Gabby comes into her own and Clay... Well, let's just say I didn't see that coming but loved every moment of it. The family as a whole shines and so does the love. Love shines in this book, along with trust and forgiveness.

'When we choose love over greed we'll experience our own turning point. One which will transform our lives forever.'
Now....
'Imagine a universe where everyone makes this choice.'

If you are in a mood for a unique read that's anything but your ordinary run-of-the-mill fantasy, pick up The Eli Chronicles and you won't regret it.

Happy reading Bookdragons
and always remember:

Love is the cure?
'Yes, love and generosity. But we must choose to be healed.

World spanning fantasy, full of life and character! That is how I'd describe the ELI Chronicles. Book 3, which picks up right where book 2 left off, again takes us in new directions, expanding the story with a few new twists while allowing us to see our main characters grow and flourish. The underlying themes of love, family and character are all so strong in this series. It's a bit of a change of pace from a lot of the books I read, and I enjoy that. Overall, I give this book a 4.5/5.0 stars (which I rounded up) as I was invested in the story and the characters the whole time. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!

A wonderful ending to a fantasy trilogy that blended a seemingly endless array of apocalyptic triller elements and classic fantasy characters. Julia Ash’s stories almost seamed to include too many elements: vampires, zombies, bioterrorism, shifters, talking animals, and prophesies.

If you’re a fan of badass female leads and okay falling into a crazy dystopian tale, Ash’s crazy storytelling works. Don’t try to jump into this book without reading the first two.

Entertaining dystopian fiction!

Tension, suspense, unexpected twists, and turns. Author Julia Ash has undoubtedly put forth dedicated effort into this riveting trilogy. Her ability to create believable characters that evolve throughout the story enmeshed with an ever-changing storyline, scenarios were quite impressive.

This book began right where the previous book The Tether ended. Ruby Spencer is at the White House in an attempt to assist the first lady who had turned into a mutant lifeform due to experimental drugs that were used as a desperate effort to cure her cancers.

Sadly, this resulted horribly for the poor first lady and led to Ruby’s kidnapping. Simultaneously, an ancient prophecy is fulfilled by the will of otherworld creatures with an agenda to remove humans from the equation. This book (series) will keep the readers at the edge of their seat and turning pages well past bedtime!

Unfortunately, this is the final book in this epic series; hopefully, Julia Ash will continue writing quality books in the future.

My rating 4.5

The third and final part of the series “The Turning Point (The ELI Chronicles # 3)” by Julie Ash is like the first two parts, a super book in which all the main characters evolve, and their destiny is intertwined in the final events. This book connects science fiction with fantasy, such as the associated worlds about which the book follows the story’s plot. The characters have evolved and, in every detail, are well defined. The planets evoked the full splendor of the story with the very well-described place.

After a visit to the President, Ruby Spencer disappears, the man she trusted deceived her and sent her into the hands of her former enemies. No one knows where she is because every trace of her is lost. But that doesn’t stop those who love her from looking for her. Her husband and daughter team up with the Queen of Athanasia to find Ruby, but it won’t be an easy task. Meanwhile, there is an animal rebellion in three worlds because the King of Alpha Wolves has decided to oppose vampires and humans. The only one who, according to prophecy, can find the real king is Ruby, but she is trapped and inaccessible.

I would recommend it to all science fiction and fantasy-related vampire fans. I’m sure readers will love the whole series of books about Ruby.

Let me preface this by saying the biggest mistake I did was starting this book believing I could read it as a standalone. I don’t know, I guess I’ve been reading a lot of books lately that are part of a series but can be read as a standalone (think the Bridgerton series) and I just assumed this one is the same. Alas it was not. And so I would like to heed everyone who wishes to read this book first not to. Don’t be like me: read the first books! It’s Book #3 for a reason.

That said, I still very much wanted to finish this book – if only because the premise and the world intrigued me. But to do so definitely came with many challenges.

For one thing, the book started with our main character Ruby not lost as I assumed she would be based on the book’s blurb – another assumption that is entirely my fault. Instead, she is in the White House listening to the First Lady of the United States being sick in the bathroom next door. Already I am catapulted into the story and that first highly intense scene gave me promise of more exciting action scenes down the line. And in that, Julia Ash did not disappoint. I very rarely enjoy action scenes. Mostly because I end up conceptualizing what was happening instead – but that is not the case here. Every time it feels like a battle or a rescue happens, I have my own adrenaline rush. Her action-writing is exquisite and pulls me along, helpless in the force and intensity of what was happening.

On the other hand, however, I feel disconnected in highly emotional moments. These moments are, to me, one of the best things in a story. It’s when you feel the humanity – or a semblance thereof – and depth of the characters, what makes them who they are and what motivates them in doing what they are doing. And every time such moments surface in this book, I am… distracted. There are times when the dialogues are stiff and when “tell not show” is obviously chosen in writing. In fact, I feel the author heavily relies on this way of writing narrative which could be the reason why I so enjoyed her action scenes. But such writing falls short when it comes to scenes that require the portrayal of feelings – be that a connection amongst the characters or between the reader. This inevitably is why I cannot fully empathise with the characters. I have no emotional connection to any of them which is a bummer.

Will I, like Ruby did with Zagan, give this book a second chance? In the future, without a doubt. I have reason to believe my thoughts now will be utterly changed the second time around. But first, I would need to read its prequels.

I just finished The Turning Point...oh my god I’m still trying to make sense of how I feel...overwhelmed definitely...sad because it’s over...but mostly happy because I so love a happy ending.

I will post a full review after I managed to put my thoughts into words.

Okay so here it is..l

Finding good books is not hard bit finding exceptional books...now that is hard. Julia Ash’s The ELI chronicle’s series is exceptional. I loved every word of all the three books and The Turning Point is the best of all the three books.

I can’t believe it’s over. Please Julia, please write more books with them. I would love to see what happens with Gabby, how she copes with her new powers. Gabby is such a fabulous little person, she is a warrior.
Or Clay. He changed so much and with him I changed too. I’ve grown to love him and depend on his steadiness. I would love to see how he lives with his new abilities. I finally appreciate Clay fully. In the end he saves the day. I want my own Clay.

Ruby oh Ruby...she is still my hero. Always will be. I’m sure I don’t have to explain it further.

The most surprising thing about The Turning Point was Zagan. I cannot believe I’m saying this but I actually liked him. I’ve been through every feeling with him, from hate and disgust to pity just to finally arrive at adoration and admiration. It’s official, he is my favourite character in the books.

The world-building? Wow...sooo colorful and detailed and imaginative. Beside Earth and Athanasia there is now Besto Polus where animals originate from. When I thought I saw it all Julia surprised me again and introduced us the world of animals. The Turning Point is what happens when animals say they have enough of man and vampires and how they are treated.

I need more books from this world.

Ruby tries to save the president's wife from treatment for a disease that didn't go so well. I have to give it to the author. They are very creative and imaginative. Ruby's daughter has powers as well (she is coming into them). I didn't see the betrayal twist coming which was great because normally I have been able to spot them early on in other books. There's a strong plot that is somewhat of a ripoff of Michael Crichton's Zoo, but differs a bit with this being fantasy so there are other planets. The author blends a lot of genres into this series and while there are some hiccups, it doesn't detract from the overall read. I would however recommend reading the other two books first, even though you can read this on its own.

Anybody looking for a entertaining distraction from our world should dive into this one (well, three worlds, actually), where the problems are far more epic and interesting. The animals are fed up, and who could blame them? Humans keep changing into animals - imposters! And the blood lust going on in the white house tops it all. The final chapter of Ruby, Clay and Gabby's supernatural sojourn and farewell to Athanasia is a dark page turner and a thrill a minute. Can't wait to see what series Julia Ash cooks up next.

"Author Julia Ash creates a dark fantasy world where The Maze Runner meets Van Helsing meets Underworld."

Each book in this series takes on its own life. Author Julia Ash introduces us to a new world and a set of memorable characters in this dark fantasy series that will appeal to readers who love The Maze Runner, Van Helsing, and Underworld - just to name a few. (Apparently, we can't get away from movies starring Kate Beckinsale.)

This series has been a roller-coaster ride into the land of fantasy. Striking a bit too close to home in The One and Only with the terror and reign of a virus which has turned a huge percentage of the world's population into zombies, our main character is betrayed by her best friend and creepy scientist, Emory Bradshaw, soon before we're introduced to Book Two. The Tether takes us into Ruby Spencer's new normal as a vampire and her struggle to save the world from the King of Darkness. Yet, once that war has been won, there's always one more battle to fight. The Turning Point gives us that next confrontation.

This was a perfect end to a breathtaking and astonishing series. The content keeps you hooked from beginning to end, and I couldn't put it down. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes horror, fantasy, or dystopian reads as well as anyone who enjoys a story containing other worlds, fierce heroines, and a series that keeps delivering with each and every book.

I was excited to get my hands on the final installment of The Eli Chronicles series after the previous book ended with a cliffhanger. The final installment in the series did not disappoint. I appreciated that though the timeline of events happens (in certain parts of the story) in a short amount of time, it didn't feel like that while I was reading the series. The books are fast-paced, but there is a nice buildup to the climactic end of the story without feeling rushed.

I really enjoyed the blend of genres in these books, and in this one we get the introduction of a new planet and wolves that rule a kingdom. It was cool to see how the different planets interacted in the Eli Chronicles and how they come into play at different parts of the story. It's sad to see these character's journeys end, but it was so much fun to read about Ruby Spencer's adventure. She's such a fierce heroine, with a caring heart, and amazing supernatural abilities. This is a series I would recommend to other fans of the genre.

The Turning Point is the final in the series ELI (Extinction Level Infection) Chronicles. The story revolves around Ruby Spence, whole special blood saves the world. A futuristic novel which takes place in 2041, it begins where the last one ended with Ruby visiting the White House to try to aid the First Lady who has been turned into a mutant. I am not usually a fan of fantasy books but this book is so well-written and full of intrigue. There is also a touch of humor entwined to lighten up some intense moments. There is an unexpected turn in this final saga of a three-part series. You will find a lot of twists and turns along the way. I advise you to read the first two in the series to get the full effect of this finale. It is a thrilling finale to an excellent series which kind of leaves you thinking about the future as we just experienced a virus in this country. It gave me the same feeling when I read 1984 many years before that year. I look forward to and hope that Ms. Ash will be working on a new series soon.

This book definitely doesn't lack in entertainment. It's a well-written, dramatic ending to a really fun series and I enjoyed it immensely. Even if you're not the biggest fantasy fan, this book is written so that a reader of all genres can get pulled in and seamlessly navigate through the complicated world Ash created. Even though it's the third book in a trilogy, the story itself is full steam ahead, and finishes the series just as strongly as it started. Ash is a great fantasy storyteller and really puts a lot of details into the worlds, characters and plot lines that make them come to life as you're reading. Really great read.

This book has werewolves, vampires and everything in-between. If you've read the first two books, you'll want to read this. I did get a bit lost in places and felt that some scenes and dialogue were longer than they needed to be, but overall, it was a good conclusion to the series.

Different, but in a good way...

Although this book was a bit different than the first two in the series, it still fit perfectly into the world the author created, tying up loose ends and bringing unexpected twists to spice things up last minute.

The story was the kind that leaves you wanting more, and yet you aren't sure whether you would want to live in Ruby's world. I guess if you had the kind of a abilities she does, then it would be a walk in the park. Well, sort of.

All in all, this was an amazing ending to a remarkable series and I really hope the author decides to take the characters and the world further in the future.

I was excited to see that the final book of the ELI Chronicles was out this month, and I devoured it in a matter of days. It was an epic and satisfying finale to a series I wasn’t expecting to find so enjoyable.

It’s interesting sitting on this side of the recent virus issues. When I first read The One and Only things weren’t quite as dire as they eventually became, and to be honest I thought back to the series more than once since March.

If the second part of the series pulled a fast one and switched up genres on us, this final story really brings it all home in a way that is organic but still surprising. What begins as a unique twist on a zombie story suddenly becomes an epic, galactic vampire story, that ends with a surprising shift in the so-called “natural order” of things that once again requires Ruby and her very unique gifts to resolve. This shift is not only present on Earth, but also on Anathanasia.

The turn this final book takes is unexpected, and there’s a particular betrayal in there that really stings (I don’t want to spoil it, but be prepared). In fact, there are quite a few twists for longtime fans of the series, and they do not disappoint.

With each entry in this series, I feel the author has refined her style. I felt not a bit of fatigue throughout any of these books, with each one keeping me glued to the page. The style is highly readable, with just the right blend of levity, suspense, and even a touch of magic. It’s rare for me to get through a book so quickly, so I must emphatically praise the style and substance here.

While I look forward to seeing more from Julia Ash, I do hope we get to revisit this world in the future. It feels rich and lived-in, like the best fantasy worlds, even though it’s so very similar to our own. Perhaps therein lies the appeal.

Five stars for this one. Check it out - and I strongly urge you to read the first two books (The One and Only and The Tether). You could jump in here, but you’d miss out on so much.

Julia Ash created vivid and complex characters that leap off the page.

The plot was so Intriguing and elaborate that I found myself unable to put the book down from the very beginning and read it in one sitting.

It has been fantastic to read something so creative.

Wow wow wow. Julia Ash has done it again. When it comes to sequels, and trilogies, I always worry that when an author starts out strong, they'll inevitably lose traction, get stale, meander on in ways that feel convoluted and tedious. But that's not the case with The Turning Point.

Book 3 in The ELI Chronicles, Ash has managed to not only keep up the excitement and the true character development but has flawlessly added new layers to the plot that don't detract from the already existing theme/premise. Instead, she allowed it to grow and unfold in exhilarating and magical ways that I did not see coming. What's more impressive, is Ash's ability to blend genres in a way that isn't cheesy at all, but refreshing. With the creation and addition of new characters, planets, languages, Ash brought to life and fruition the culmination of Ruby Spencers adventure and struggles--all to resolve in a way that leaves room for more imagination and hope then readers would normally find in the books of these genres.

I've gotta say: I loved these books. I'm sad that they're over, but so pleased to have had the honor and pleasure of reading them. I look forward to more from Julia Ash and her remarkably imaginative abilities in storytelling.

A story where animals have a voice and express their feelings.
I'm so sad to see this story end. I love Ruby and her family. Ruby will forever be my hero. Her bravery, confidence, and love conquers all. I highly recommend this series.

If anyone had told me that I would thoroughly enjoy an apocalypic triology I'd hever have believed them. I really did though and The Turning Point brings the story to an extremely satisfactory conclusion.

Ruby Spencer is a character I won't forget in a while, gosh I wish that I had the skills that she has. The writer is clearly very talented. Her character creation is great and ability to create a good plot line more than confident. What I would love to see now is for Julie Ash to write a trilogy written entirely in the 'realistic' genre setting. Even with my new open mind to thrillers and supernatural I am not ready for another vampire book quite yet!
