USA Today bestselling author of Contemporary and Historical Romances. I'm a proud Texan living it up in Alaska's beauty who loves to write both sweet and spicy romances.

My heroes and heroines can be found in this time or another, modern or historic, professionals or not. All include a little naughtiness, sternness, seriousness, a taste of suspense and a HEA.

I have always loved writing about sassy ladies and have done it for fun but never thought I could do it for other's enjoyment. It's my dream job and I hope I never come back to the real world.

Another incredible read x

Alyssa defiantly knows how to write amazing storylines and family saga. Book 2 just got better and better to read and I couldn't put it down. The storyline was exciting, emotional and gripping. Never a dull moment and another series that will be read and 're read without ever getting predictable or boring. If you want that kind of a story, then this isn't this book. Book 2 just leaves you begging for book 3 to read and carry on the adventure. Amazing writing Alyssa as always xx

Brent and Gena meet on what amounts to be a forced vacation for both of them. They start falling in love when Gena drops off the map after she quits her job and leaves Fort Worth. Brent is crestfallen and slightly heartbroken and eventually gives up trying to find her. She resurfaces when she gets a job in the small town where Brent lives and works as both Mayor and ranch owner. Gena is on the run from some bad people from her previous job. That comes to a head towards the end. What I didn’t like about the book was how some parts seem to drag on, and Gena and Brent weren’t very likable characters. Gena was defiant for the sake of being defiant more than enough, and Brent tried to be a dominant alpha male but came off as pushy. The biggest plus of this book was that the spicy times were on point.

Still Waters is the second book in the Sage County series. Still Waters is a wonderful cowboy/western romance story. I found characters Gena and Brent to be quite intriguing, entertaining, and their story is quite enjoyable to read. Author Alyssa Bailey is a wonderful author who writes fantastic cowboy/western theme stories. Still Waters is the first book that I have read by her, and it did NOT disappoint me in anyway whatsoever. Still Waters is ease to read, a page-turner, romantic/steamy, a happily ever after for the characters, and overall an absolutely amazing read. I would certainly suggest Still Waters for anyone to read.

Gena thought of ways to protect herself when her job became a scapegoat for the higher ups. She leaves for a small cowboy town, working hard to fit in. Brent is the mayor, so also her boss, and soon their growing closer. Previous trouble comes calling, but she will need help. The characters are well defined with strong personalities, protectiveness, and great banter. The storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat with plenty of twists and turns, secrets and revelations, accidents, arson and kidnapping. My heart is still pounding at all that happened in this book. Well done.

I finished it, but I don't think that's saying much. There are way more power dynamic issues in their relationship than I can reasonably swallow. The constant battling of who is in charge and who's the boss and who gets to call the shots. It's exhausting, is this how some people have relationships? There was also a "one trick pony" vibe to their sex life - spanking - and... that's it. But if one-note sex and a desperate desire to be dominated by a cowboy who is also the mayor and your boss is your speed - then this is the book for you.

This the second book in this series, the chemistry between Gena and Brent is off the charts. She is sassy and stubborn; he is quiet and reserved.

What a tangled tale we weave in spite of good intentions ! Mixed metaphors, I know, but you get the drift. Such is the long and winding road that starts with a tropical romance and snakes toward a happier conclusion with a lot of ups and downs along the way. Good book !

A romance that lacks romance. The characters are one dimensional and dull, the story is fast-paced only because it lacks a plot. There's no suspense and no tension. All in all, a rather boring book.
