A creepy little short story about a mysterious, seemingly abandoned pirate ship that appears at a port town. For two urchins the lure is just too much.

The 2nd story, Laney Roberts Never Says Die, is also great. A kid playing pirate, digs up her yard in search of treasure. But when she finds something, it’s more than she bargained for.

Short but sweet. Contains 2 quick blasts and a preview of Night of the Living Elves (which I've already read and enjoyed).
From the cover, I was really expecting a single novelette. The short stories are Sea Change and Laney Roberts Never Says Die.
Sea Change was a pretty fun read and I'm glad Brian found a place to sell it.
The second one gets really dark in the end, with the action happening off-screen and implied by a child's perspective. This one stuck with me. Also appreciate the shout out to The Princess Bride.

Absolutely enjoyed these two eerie tales influenced by pirates. In the first one two boys investigate a mysterious old brigantine. Is it the Flying Dutchman? What about the treasures they find? Do they help them to a better life? The second one is about treasure digging. Problem is when you dig something out what better remains hidden. Absolutely entertaining, mysterious with a good touch of Pirates feeling. Really recommended!

Two very short stories that involve pirates of some kind. The second is set in modern day and describes a little girl obsessed with digging for buried treasure in her back yard. She unearths it to discover something less glamorous. Description makes it sound like one long story. Earnest and enjoyable, but it's no Pirate Latitudes.

Ahoy mateys! This is the treasure you’re looking for! Two scalleywags want to take a ship, but taking a ship is tougher than anticipated. Other story is a Goonie wanna be but finds … a great one day read.

A couple of stellar pirate(ish) horror stories by Brian Asman yet again. The title story Sea Change is about 2 orphan boys who sneak on a seemingly abandoned ship that pulls into port. They hope to find riches aboard but they find something quite different. The other story Laney Roberts Never Says Die is about a young girl digging up her backyard looking for pirate treasure and finds a whole other kind of "treasure." Brian ends the book with a short essay about his delve into Piracy and is a nice little read.
