I appreciated the first half of the book the most: it is well written, thoroughly thought and Ingemarsson is generous with her standard typically-Swedish-every-day-life-detail, that makes it so easy to relate and feel at home in her novels. Then the story quickens up the pace, but not in an exciting way. I rather feel as if Ingemarsson just wanted to finish the novel off quickly, or that she didn't enjoy writing the ending as much as she did building the characters at the start of the novel. A pity.
Don't let me scare you off, though. It's a good book, and for a 'chick-lit', it is far more intriguing and got way more depth than other books in this genre. But to be a novel wearing Ingemarsson's name on the front cover, it still does not reach higher, than 3/5 stars.
