Why should I stay? I thought coming to Mountain View was going to be easy. Look at the house, make sure it gets finished and decide if I’m keeping it or selling it. Who knew that decision would be derailed by my shockingly delicious contractors but their lives are much more complicated than I can deal with. I know I’m not without my own faults and I can barely live with my grief but are we just a disaster waiting to happen? Or are they my road to happiness and healing?
Mandy Muse writes spicy adult romance. Born and raised in Texas, she is a stay at home mom with an imagination that has always left her daydreaming. When she is not writing, she is trying to keep three kids from playing with her laptop and keep them from learning how to read, so she never has to explain what mommy writes.
This book finally answers questions from the first book. Ties up loose ends and is just an amazing sequel to the first one. This baby author is amazing and if you haven't read her you. Run don't walk.
I think I could read book after book about Jane and her guys. The story is so sweet and it makes my heart happy! It makes me want to find some guys and start hiking (and I hate hiking) this series will always be a comfort read for me. It’s that good.
I’ve been looking so forward to this book coming out. Definitely did not disappoint! I’m sad that it’s over but that just means I get to reread it again. 😊
After finding this series on an FB group, had to delve in! The 2nd book didn't disappoint . I love the men and Jane, well she is such a fierce queen and has so much strength and carries herself so well. And always so poised and in control, where internally she is just a mess. The way this book has been written is such a breathe of fresh air i truly enjoyed reading this one. Don't miss out!! Mandy Muse kudos!!!

I received an ARC copy of this book. I was so excited to read it after the first book. I thought the first book was just gearing up for all the stuff that happens on the second book. The second book takes off right as the first one ends. There is no time in between which I really liked. I loved seeing Jane with Nathan, Callum and Aiden and seeing their relationship bloom. The second book is heavy on the emotions and you see Jane through them all. I liked how the author was able to portray many different emotions on the different main characters. Overall it was a great ending to their stories and I enjoyed both books. Would recommend to anyone who likes why choose books. There are some triggers so it’s not for everyone, but if you’re ok with the triggers I think you should give it a try!

I received an ARC of this book and it did not disappoint. This is the second book so if you have not read the first you will be lost. Jane's relationship with Aiden, Nathan and Callum you get spice, romance, heartache and disappointment. This book is wonderfully written and I literally read it in one afternoon.
I received an arc of this book! And I read both the 1st and second in 2 days! I really loved both books. All the characters were great and I really loved how all the guys had distinct personalities and not like they were the same person. I feel like the author did a great job of show casing janes struggles. Which are heart breaking but I love how strong Jane is. Over all a fantastic read!
The second in the Breathe Duet and I'm so sad it's over.
I have loved every minute I spent reading this series and with Jane, Aiden, Nathan, and Callum. The banter and love that was felt between these four was truly special.
This is a repeat of my review of the first book, which includes both books:
This is a good story overall, but the terrible, terrible, grammar was a real problem. Constant tense changes, often within the same sentence, missing words, additional words, misplaced quotation marks... Honestly, the whole thing was a mess.
The plot is good, and with some serious editing, this could be an amazing book. One of the plot points is conveniently dealt with off page, in a 'perfect world' wrap up in the final chapter of the second book, which is a disappointment, but I think everything else is dealt with in a realistic way, especially Jane's grief.
The guys waffle a bit in their feelings and desires, which is annoying to the reader and Jane, and a lot of conflict could have been avoided if everyone just talked to each other, which is one of my personal pet peeves.
I think the writing lacked a lot of emotion, and maybe this was the bad grammar, but I feel more like I was being told how everyone felt instead of being immersed in, and feeling the things they did. Perhaps with the messy writing fixed, this would be less of an issue.
Honestly, unless the author invests in a serious editor and proofer (and not just one of her friends, as indicated in the acknowledgements in the first book), I won't read another book by her.
I really wanted to give this at least a 3 but just can't. The editing is so bad and takes you out of the story so often.
Spoilers below
This book somehow has a 3rd act break up happening over and over and over again. There is so much angst and drama that could be fixed if they just sat down for 5 minutes and talked to each other which is really frustrating when they constantly talk about the need for honesty. It was also ridiculous how much life just seemed to shit on her. There was a lot of things that seemed rushed or not fully expanded on. The whole build up of Candy seemed like it was going to cause a lot more drama and just sort of fizzled. Then all the stuff with her ex and his infidelity and then there was the underground fight club. It felt kind of like there were 3 ideas for the story and instead of focusing on one or two they half assed all of them. The ending was also really bizarre, it basically got quickly and cleaning wrapped up by just mentioning what happened in the epilogue. My only assumption is that everything that went down with Lucio is in the book with Darcy which I get you don't want spoilers but if that was the case I think I would have rather it ends with the fighting still being a thing and just end with them together and then do the epilogue wrap up for them at the end that book or like built into that book.
well that was just full of heartache and lots of sweetness
Book starts off right where the last one ended. The guys think Jane is in league with Lucio and they soon learn how wrong they were. But some news come to light then can sever the bonds they are forming. They are all broken in their own ways and hopefully the broken bits won’t get in the way.
Wow, thought the first book was an emotional roller coaster but hot damn! When the truth is revealed it makes me wonder if JD knew because of what he had said in the previous book. I wish that JD and Matthew had a bigger presence because the love they had for their sister was so strong in the few pages they were there.
I loved how the guys were with Jane’s heart. The whole Orion and chasing the sisters thing was so sweet my teeth hurt! And I loved that it played out a few times.
Really enjoyed this duet and I am glad that I didn’t judge it by the covers because I don’t normally pick books that have real people on them. I’m a brat like that.
This is book 2 of the duology and picks up where book 1 ends.
Note: This book is for mature audiences aged 18 and older and contains explicit scenes. Additional triggers include grief and effects of miscarriage and suicide.
This book incites deep empathy, sympathy and shock. As more is revealed in terms of the characters' past and present struggles, so too do new twists arise that are unexpected.
The MC's truly deserve their hard won happy ending, and this book is filled with devastation, tragedy, love and healing.
More than that, the side characters are wonderful, and immediately interest in their potential stories is piqued.
This is another book to be devoured in one sitting, and the author did a marvelous job!
Callum’s entrapment with Lucio reaches breaking point when he loses a fight and Nathan takes a beating.
Jane is left floundering, as once again, the guys try to push her away to keep her safe.
Jane returns to Dallas heartbroken and then we learn that her deceased husband was a liar and cheat. With Jane’s future hanging in the balance she struggles to reconcile with her guys.
I felt the drama of this book rotated around Callum’s deal with Lucio and the “conclusion” to this drama was glossed over. I am only giving this read 3 stars as the spice is well done.
I was not expecting to be trapped in this books so much, all the emotions that Mandy captured made it so relatable, all the hurt in Jane's heart, how each one of the guys was broken in their own way and how they just worked to make each other better. The spice was fantastic, I wished I was Jane every single time. 2.8🌶️/5 I also loved the extended epilogue so much, I wanted to cry with happiness, because in their own way everyone was still healing, showing that time can pass and you still need to heal your wounds.
This is my first Mandy Muse book, and it will not be my last. We were coming off a lot of information and also some secrets still with book one. This one really got to the core of the issues of her and her men. It opened up to them learning to be in a relationship even though they feel unworthy of love. I love seeing more webs of Lucio tyranny with Evan and Darcy. This took me on a ride the last 75 percent of the book. My heart hurt so much for her and the guys. Just breathe, and you will get through it. Lol, wonderful introduction of Mandy Muse.
I can’t put into words how incredible this duet was! It’s a MFMM love triangle with all the drama, trauma, loss, pain, healing, new beginnings, laughter, and more that you could possibly imagine. This story is so real and raw and you will be on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happens and how the story ends. This was my first Mandy Muse experience and i have to say, I’m a new huge fan!
I really wanted to like this one more than the first. I liked the story. Well, the main story. I feel like some side stories could be left out. And occasionally I had to scroll back because I felt like I’d time travelled and didn’t know how I got there. Cal, Aidan, & Nathan I’m here for…but the rest was meh
What a rollercoaster of emotions! This duet was perfect. To see them face all the obstacles that were thrown at them and finally find their way back to each other. Tears definitely fell, but this was beautiful. To think I almost didn't pick this duet up because I was having a moody month.. I'm sure glad I did tho!
This is the second book and omg so much happened in this book. My heart hurts for everything Jane went through! I’m still in shock, because I would of never thought in a million years of things that happened. I have to say I’m just like Darcy, I’m team CAN lol I loved this story so much! Can’t wait to read more by this author!
Oh holy cow!! This story just kept getting better and better! Aiden, Nathan, and Callum are definitely dream worthy men! Jane is learning she is capable of moving on! The last bit of the book had me on the edge of my seat! Wow! Just wow! This is one of the very best why choose romances I have ever read!!! Will read again!!
This book picks right up where book 1 left off! There where tears, laughter, and even some anger for me with this book! These 4 had to overcome so much, and they all messed up along the way! But they finally all got their crap together, and it couldn’t be more beautiful!!
Everything from happy to sad you will feel it all. This book was so good I can see myself rereading it. I also loved the bonus epilogue so sweet to read the HEA that they all deserved.
This was a pretty good duet. The wrapup seemed pretty fast. With Candy and the mafia dude. The curveball that was thrown hurt, my little heart. But it was nice to see an hea for these characters.
I really love this series. The bonus epilogue for this book especially cinched it for me. I found myself think of couples and realizing I'd totally be okay if they were reverse harem, or more. I loved the love and the healing. 💕
Small town romances are the best. The story line was great and I love that It was just as 🔥🔥🔥 as the first one. There are a lot of characters and some background that was not given but with so many I get it. Go read this book. It’s worth it.
