[2.9] ??? literally nothing happened in the first 50% except Yuuto questioning his sexuality and mr. Rob professor man coming in in all his perfect glory trying to get into Yuuto's pants. He eventually backs off but bruh why you getting all this screen time when we haven't even seen Dick on the page yet 😑 the only Dick is the Dick with his weird disguise on the cover! (omg everything i type sounds dirty 😂😂 this is why you can't name a character Dick)
and then when our two main MCs finally meet in person again, Dick is awfully busy being an actual dick because he's too focused on his personal vendetta to see what's in front of him. we're left on a cliffhanger with Yuuto going all golden hero and pledging to arrest Corvus before Dick can get to him in order to keep his man's hands clean. OKAY THEN
hopefully next book we get some real plot advancement 😤
See, I've always been a fan of US procedural drama. So this is like a dream come true, and it's very well done, too. The best sign to tell a good BL writer from a great BL writer are the side characters, and the ones in here are all great. She could do with including more women, I suppose, but that is a minor gripe in this case. I can totally see why this is as popular as it is, and I highly recommend reading this if you can.
Yuuto, now as an official FBI agent, is chasing after Corvus, mostly because he's hoping that will lead him to Dick. By coincidence, he ends up partnering up with Rob, a professor of criminology. (Yay love triangle that I could see coming a million jillion miles away. -_-) Overall, I liked this one better than the first, I think. Yuuto seems smarter and more competent, and there were a lot of parts that were really good (Yuuto's friendship with Ernesto, the adorable scene where they go visit Dr. Spencer, the one good scene between Yuuto and Dick)...but Dick's all-consuming vendetta is getting annoying. Just work with Yuuto and move on with your life already, yeesh. (Also, I was right about the book ending on a cliffhanger. *sigh*)
