A las afueras de un pueblecito francés se halla un convento, en el que la hermana Malena y sus compañeras se dedican a guiar a las pequeñas huérfanas que viven con las monjas. Su día a día está dedicado a la limpieza y el mantenimiento, a las plegarias y los cantos, y a dejar a un lado cualquier atisbo de interés mundano. Pero la hermana Malena tiene un secreto. Lo primero que destaca de Alabanza es el precioso dibujo a color que tiene, pero es que además la historia y los personajes acompañan. Me ha encantado. Alabanza es un manga a fuego lento que se adentra en la psicología de unas huérfanas y unas monjas que se encargan de cuidarlas en la Francia del siglo XVIII. Los personajes están muy bien definidos para ser un tomo único y consiguen emocionarte. Quizá me ha faltado un poco de densidad dramática pero esto no empaña una ejecución notable.

Una lectura preciosa ❤️ El ritmo de la lectura es pausado, cosa que me encanta porque te permite disfrutar, y degustar cada detalle tanto de la historia como el arte. Te invita a reflexionar sobre las cuestiones de la vida religiosa, pero sobre todo de las reglas impuestas en la vida, y cómo a veces nuestros deseos no son compatibles con ellas.

Feels like a quiet and gentle story, with soft colours and a soft ambiance. I enjoyed the relationships between the nuns and the apprentices and how their character is shown. It's a sweet story to lose yourself into for a while, and one that I enjoyed a lot.

toujours difficile de donner des étoiles. pour commencer, ce n'est pas le genre de manga que j'aurais lu sans la recommendation de la bibliothèque. le style (dessin) et le sujet ne m'attirent pas - mais j'ai été séduit par les couleurs vif mais subtils et la douceur de l'histoire et les émotions des personnages. il faut aimer une histoire où pas grande chose se passe. je pourrai relire facilement - regarder les dessins et réfléchir sur mon histoire personnel avec la religion, le romance, et la famille.

An intriguing present from my childhood best friend, I definitely liked the art from the get go.

The story follows Malena and Emila, a sister in a convent and a novice respectively.
The pace of it is slow and reminds me of a lazy summer afternoon somehow, perhaps the colorful yet simple backgrounds and character designs are to blame. I liked that.

As I read I was more and more puzzled as to where the story is going, at times it felt like opening a random window and observing the days of some people, living their normal life. To that I would also add quite a bit of “reading between the lines”, a big part of Japanese culture and thus, also literature.

After finishing the manga I realized I hadn’t grasped everything I could from it, I think I will be reading it once again soon to (hopefully) understand better the characters and the development they go through.

Tomo a color precioso con un dibujo sencillo pero encantador que te invita a reflexionar si resignarse o dar un salto de fe. Me ha gustado aunque me hubiera gustado más explicaciones en algunas cosas.

Un manga vraiment joli et très visuel avec des magnifiques dessins. L'histoire a un rythme à la japonaise donc il ne faut pas attendre de l'action. Le meilleur est sans doute le dessin.
