It’s a new sentiment among the fae. For most of his life, the few humans he’s known have been like family. So how does their entire world want those like Gullie destroyed?
The secret is out.
Fae exist and the humans believe Magic threatens their way of life.
The once-fringe cult that has spent years terrorizing the fae—and killing any humans that got in the way—now has the backing of governments and the media.
Their goal? Keep the fae out of our world.
What they really mean? Destroy them all.
Gulliver refuses to give up on the communities of fae scattered across human cities.
And he’ll never give up on Sophie. Whether she’s taking up residence in the queen’s lavish Iskaltian rooms, or sitting by her father’s side as he plans to annihilate the fae, Gulliver has to reach her. He has to make her see there’s another way.
There might be a tail coming from his behind. His eyes might be more familiar to a cat, and he might live in a world of vanishing villages and healing waters, but all Gulliver wants is for his home to remain safe and those fae who choose to make the human world their home to have that same safety.
Even if he has to lose her to hate.
Even if he has to face a warzone of bombs and guns, and the destruction of every taco he holds dear.
The fate of both worlds is now up to him … magicless Gulliver O’Shea.
Book 11 in the Queens of the Fae series brings us closer to a conclusion of this twisty, exciting, swoony Fae love story.
Michelle MacQueen is a USA Today bestselling author of love. Yes, love. Whether it be YA romance, NA romance, or fantasy romance (Under M. Lynn), she loves to make readers swoon. The great loves of her life to this point are two tiny blond creatures who call her "aunt" and proclaim her books to be "boring books" for their lack of pictures. Yet, somehow, she still manages to love them more than chocolate. When she's not sharing her inexhaustible wisdom with her niece and nephew, Michelle is usually lounging in her ridiculously large bean bag chair creating worlds and characters that remind her to smile every day - even when a feisty five-year-old is telling her just how much she doesn't know.
I really love these authors but I wasn't a fan of this book. One of the biggest reasons being that this book wasn't needed. After reading you only take away one thing from this book and that's what truly happened to Sophie's mom. We don't really see Sophie and Gulliver have a relationship in this book either. I'm starting to wonder when they will end up together. I feel like by now in this series they would have already admitted that they had feelings for each other or something. Another thing I noticed while reading is Tia's personality kinda changes or seeing her from a different point of view that isn't in love with her really brought to light how horrible she is. She's very entitled and takes advantage of her friends. I honestly can't believe she would ever make a good queen. There's not much plot in this book and it feels like it should have just been added to the previous book. The ending makes no sense at all with throwing in a random character right there. I've loved all the books for this series except Gulliver's books. He just seems so immature when he's actually a man. He needs to grow up a lot. So does Tia. Toby seems to be the only one who is trying to grow up and care about something other than himself. Overall I wasn't happy with the way this book went but I'm hoping the next one will have more plot and an actual romance.
Fae's Enemy by Melissa A. Craven/M. Lynn YA Fantasy Folklore Hoopla
Book 11 in the Queens of the Fae series picks up where the previous book left off, with Gulliver and Sophie-Ann joined by a lot more fae as they try to save the fae in the human world from the humans who seek to destroy them out of fear and jealousy. But because the fae misunderstands how the human world functions and sees threats, things go very wrong.
Sadly this book was a disappointment. It seemed forced and the way the authors portrayed humans, (yes, I know humans are the most vindictive, malicious, and jealous creatures that have ever walked the planet, even though we have the intelligence to be better) was overly dramatic.
The fae, all of them, even though they were adults, over twenty, acted as if they were teenagers, including the grandparents, and this childish behavior is the reason things went wrong for them. In previous books these same fae, although teens, acted more adult than in this one.
When Gullie brought Sophie to the fae realm to heal her from her leukemia, Toby and Griff stayed in the human world. Toby wants to make sure that the fae living there are safe from HAFS's threat of destruction. Earlier HAFS haven't had a huge impact, but now the secret is out: the humans know that fae exist. Most are on HAFS's side, convinced that fae are evil creatures. A war seems inevitably.
This is supposed to be Gullie's trilogy (second book), but it's as much Toby's. Honestly, I prefered to follow Toby in this book. He finally seems to have found a purpose after Logan's death, and he's started living again. Gullie, no matter how kind-hearted he is, fades into the background a bit. He also does more harm than good when he, alongside his father Griff, tries to make the humans understand that the fae wants to live in peace with them.
Sophie also returns to her own world, and although her stay in the fae realm has made her see that not all fae are evil beings, she still loves her father, one of the HAFS's leaders. She hopes to convince him that the fae have healed her and that they don't deserve extinction, but instead Sophie is locked up and believed to be in cahoots with them. I found it rather naive of her to think she could make her father see her side. The only really interesting was that we (and Sophie) got to know the truth about her mother's death. Not a surprise, I have to say.
I hope that the last book in the series comes with a bit more of that magic that I've felt earlier. Even if I appreciated being with well known characters in this book I have to admit that I was slightly disappointed. I had expected more from this awesome author couple.

This book really didn't bring much to the table for the series. We did get to see Sophie in the fae world and how she was handling it as well as learn more about her family past. Gully and Sophie's relationship did not progress in the book and that was a letdown. Toby's story seemed to progressing a little.
The secret is out. Fae exist and they live among the humans. A fact to which humans do not take kindly. In fact they, or at least a decent portion of them, intend to start an all out war. And it’s Gullie and Toby’s job to stop it, with the help of one of the human leaders daughter, Sophie. Sophie, who only months ago was dying of Leukemia, now entirely healthy thanks to the healing pools Gulliver abducted her to use. But the Fae-hating cult now has the backing of the U.S. government, Sophie is no where to be found, and Gullie and Toby don’t have any magic to speak of.
While I love Gulliver, Toby, Sophie, and Xavier, I didn’t love this book. I enjoyed reading more of the characters, but in the overall storyline it didn’t feel like it moved the story along very much. More like it was a placeholder to tie up some loose ends. It was nice to see Toby start to wake up from the loss of Logan and Xavier become more to the story. I liked that Sophie got some information on the death of her mother and that Gullie seems to be coming more into who he’s meant to be. I really don’t like Tierney, which is throwing me a bit, because before this and the last book I loved her. I’m really unsure of what to make of the ending. I’m not sure that storyline is going to be really necessary. I love these authors and I love the rest of the series, but I’m really struggling with Gullie’s stories. If I could give half stars I think I would give 3.5 because I enjoy the writing, the authors, and a fair few of the lines. The story read pretty smoothly and quicker than the last one it felt like.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the authors in exchange for an honest review
After Sophie's abduction to the fae realm and full healing, she is slowly getting to know the fae royals and becoming to understand things might not be as she believed. After all, there aren't such differences between fae and humans as she was taught all her life. And maybe she can stop seeing the fae as enemies, rather understanding what a big misunderstanding on both sides it actually is... one that can lead to war. Something the fae on Earth are facing with grave reality. And Toby, Griff, and Gulliver are amongst them, together with the resistance against HAFS. Although the series changes each few books the main character, each arc following a characters tells a compelling and unique story extending the full picture of the Five Kingdoms. Toby, Gullie, and Sophie are definitely an interesting cast, living in tensed times of escalated conflicts and zealous emotions. Deadly secrets are surfacing, throwing a different light on reality, and one misunderstood word can cause an eruption. I very much enjoy how the characters are evolving and would love to see what happens with Sophie next.
Promise of wars have after all, been started for less. Gullie risked all to save Sophie- the consequences may start adding up on more than one world. Two worlds are now beholden to one human girl and how this all plays out. Our characters go through ALL the emotions in this one. Toby, Gullie, Tia and Sophie have to deal with a lot-it's really interesting to see how each of them deals with the pressure. There's a lot less action in this than previous books, but it looks like the next book will be a doozy! This one laid the groundwork and set the players. I for one am looking forward to what's next. I adore this series, and Gullie is my absolute fave character... so of *course* I'm excited to cheer him on 😉! This was a super fun read and I highly recommend it.
I wasn’t sure about Gully and Sophie before but now I think once she gives in to having feelings for him they will be adorable. I want Gully to have a happy ending to his story so badly! HAFS is the worst and is clearly delusional but it is nice to see that Sophie towards the end sees how crazy they actually are. The cliff hanger!! This ties everything all the way back to Brea’s story at the Clarkson Institute from the first book! Seeing how this is all trying together is wild. Will be going home to immediately read the final book because I need to know how everything ends!
I was really unsure how to review this book, which is a first for me in this series. I would say that it is still worth a read as we learn more about the characters and the growing conflict between humans and Fae is interesting, to say the least. Not a fan of cliffhanger endings though. Hope the next book fills in the gaps.
This is one of my favorite long-running series. I can hardly believe it's up to volume eleven and still just as compelling as book one. This author duo has created a world you will want to visit again and again.
What happens when humans are killing the fae who live amongst them? Will those from the Fae Realm just stand by?
OH MY GOD I am so glad that the last book is already out. That cliffhanger nearly killed me!! This was such a good one, and I liked that we as readers were able to hear the story from Toby's POV also! I can't wait to see what the last book has to offer but I can't believe I am almost done with the series! I might cry when it is all over, I have fallen in love with these characters!!!
Humans now know that Fae exist and some of them want to kill them all. It is the job of Gully and Toby to stop that, but it won't be easy. This book doesn't move the story forward much. But it does let us learn more about the characters and the growing conflict, which I enjoyed.
Sophie is pulled into a world she has always feared, those with magic. All she wants is to return to the only family she has left, her father. All he wants is to wiped the fae from the Earth by any means necessary. She is faced with the decision trust those she blames for her mother's death yet saved her life or the man that shows mercy regardless of the evidence. Gil is falling fast, and his need to protect Sophie is strong. This book is full of emotion, life altering secrets and action. You will be left on the edge of your seat with the ending.
In this book, Gully has brought Sofia to the Fae Realm to heal her of cancer. Uncertain if Fae magic will work on Humans, it is a risk bringing her there knowing who her father is.
This book is mainly coming up with a plan on how to save the rest of the human/fae and also viewing the Fae from a human point of view which hasn't happened since book one, ten books ago. Sofia views it all as weird and old fashioned but it grows on her.. Gully realizes he has real feelings for her and tries to handle that without scarring her off.
Near the end of the book they travel back to the Human realm to attempt to make peace again, only Sofia is taken by her father and his men and some interesting secrets about her mother are revealed. I can only hope that the final book has all of the answers I need and the most epic ending!
