Oh to live in a Cabbages and Roses house. Its oh so clean and tidy and neat and maybe a bit to pressy. But I can dream over my hot choc for a few minutes before real life sets in. Some real good ideas and some really naff ones - such is life.
Oh to be crafty Toast

Sometimes, I pull out my over-priced sewing machine, and just have to indulge my need for creativity using fabrics and ideas. This book, Home Made Vintage, by Christina Strutt offers loads of ideas for re-purposing vintage fabrics, and other items, and making some unique projects. I am biting my virtual tongue so as to not apply any spoilers here.... I will say that there is a template for a project in this book that I must have. Since this review is of a library book, I am now on my way to purchase the book so that I might get my hands on the template for a project that I plan on creating for my sister's birthday. Even if you don't sew, there is probably something to inspire you, because the author herself claims to not have been much of a seamstress when she started out.... There are some fun ideas, and many lend their expression to country living. A very fun book, that's easy to follow, and quite inspirational.

such a gorgeous book, and as I'm a huge cath kidston fan, anything floral gets the thumbs up from me! All i would say is that I would of loved it to of had more variety in the clothes aspect like patching designs/fabrics over jackets etc. and the way of patchwork. Overall though it is such a lovely book and am glad i picked it up! I also kind of wish it was a little more modern too, but, thats not the authors fault😊 Makes me excited to start sewing and think of designs. Great how it shows you in detail how to make the creations too! Would defo reccomend to a friend🌺🌼🌸

Aesthetically, I really enjoyed this book. However, most of the ideas, I wouldn't necessarily call "vintage" and almost all of them didn't interest me. Basically what makes the items "vintage" in this book means using vintage fabric.

I’ve had Home-Made Vintage by Christina Strutt for the last 4 years. It was a book that I’d previously looked at briefly from time to time. This past week, I have been reading it before bedtime. There’s so many things I’d like to make now.

Christina mentions that she’s not a sewer, I’ve sewn a few things before, so I feel confident to have a go at making some things. The instructions appear to be clearly written, so I’m looking forward to browsing the internet for some suitable fabrics.
