When the gorgeous Nanami Barato confesses to Yoshin Misumai, it seems too good to be true! Only, it is—and Yoshin knows it. How’s an introverted guy like him supposed to keep his cool when he knows this is all just a dare? Even more puzzling, despite her gaudy appearance, this supposed gyaru isn’t actually all that good with guys! Perhaps this is the perfect chance for this shy guy to pluck up his own courage and say yes to the guy-shy girl. So begins their new cushy life of morning meet-ups and handmade lunches. The thing is, judging by the way she’s acting, Nanami has fallen head over heels for him!
From dares and dating to downright disasters, can these two first-timers figure out their feelings and maybe even fall in love—for real, this time?!
Dropped around 26% of the way through V1 of the Kindle version. I dislike how the main character needs to go ask the online gamer chatroom for every little panicky thing. Even when he got a text from the girl suggesting they walk to school together, he needed to ask for what he should do. Seriously? It's not that hard of a choice - either sleep in or wake early and go, it's not a big deal. Then he keeps saying his pessimistic stuff talking about "an introvert like him" which feels VERY heavy on the self-deprecation. She calls him out on this to stop doing it, but I was already very annoyed by the time she did.
Another issue this shares with Gimai Seikatsu is repeat chapters from the FMC's PoV. Yes, I get that the author wants us to know her feelings. But the chapter rehashes 90% of the stuff we read already, so it just makes the novel more plodding and slow than it already is. (A better author could convey this by showing it in her actions rather than a repeat chapter rehasing so much used material.) And I already dislike just how hard she falls for the guy just from him shielding her from some cold water and a bucket, to the extent of already making lunch for him the next day. I'd prefer some more gradual that felt more natural, but this certainly didn't feel that way.
Overall, not a good novel. It's heavy on wish-fulfillment as many LNs are, but the writing isn't good, the characterizations feel even more fake than other LNs, the romance doesn't feel authentic, and the MC feels more spineless, mediocre, and average than normal. Dropped and disliked.

The story all begins when our introverted main character overhears three girls in his class discussing a penalty for a game. The loser, Nanami, one of the most popular girls in the school, had to confess to a guy and date him for a month. It just so happens that the male they picked was him. They start dating, Nanami, unaware that Yoshin is fully in the know of her reasons for confessing.
Volume 1 only talks about their first week of dating but boy do a lot of things happen. Once they begin, it's as if the author just slams his foot on the gas and never lets go. Their relationship is extremely wholesome but the milestones they achieve with every day of their being a couple are absurd. The exaggeration is well-written so it all comes across as cute and incredibly amusing. The author has a nice way of shifting points of view so it doesn't get stale.
Their friends and families are strong support systems for the couple. I really enjoy the scenes when they are present. I have a feeling they'll play a bigger role later on but only the next volume will tell.
This series is cute as fuck and the 4th chapter is really funny. The series alternates between the PoV of our main character, Yoshin, and shorter chapters with the PoV of our FMC, Nanami. Nanami's chapters are the highlights as they're dripping with cuteness! Whereas Yoshin's has more humour. The manga adaptation is pretty good, too, doesn't cut out too much (there's a couple minor points that make more sense in the books) but it's only adapted about 3 chapters so far.
Fun slice of life with a introverted boy and a girl who is more like him than he imagined her bubbly outside to be. 100% clean so if you thought there might be fan service by the title, you will be disappointed. But a fun read with lots of cliffhangers for book 2.
This is romance aimed at a YA audience. It's very wholesome and almost saccharine in its sweetness. I am a little embarrassed to admit to reading it, but on the other hand it was an easy, light read and made me smile.
