I bought this board book at a museum in Edinburgh in 2009, for a future kidlet. Almost ten years later it’s Eamon’s favourite book, and we have the lovely rhyming couplets that accompany Magritte’s paintings memorised. I think we’ll be able to recite this book from memory for a very long time.

All aboard the Magritte train!  Journeying through Magritte's world, Rubin offers a brief overview of many of Magritte's most famous works, showing just how imaginative adults can be!  With a color palette similar to each painting on the page, she narrates this exciting and artistic journey.  Great for ages 2-4.

While this is a fun book. It is not engaging to young readers (0-3). The art is pretty and thought provoking but nothing is really made for children to understand. Still a good book for when one more 'brown bear, brown bear' May end with the book on fire

I think this board book is a wonderful tool to expose young children to art! The artwork of Magritte is colorful and exciting for children to view. The discussion you have about the artwork can change depending on the child's age/maturity and the text that accompanies the images is simple but fun!
