The world ended with no warning All that is left is...
Battlestar Galactica, the "re-imagined" version of the cult 1970s series, continues to be hailed as one of the most electrifying shows on any network, earning numerous critical plaudits throughout its gripping and dramatic third season. With its impressive ensemble cast, its cutting edge special effects, cinematic production design, and intensely suspensful, provocative storytelling, Battlestar Galactica is both a visually spectacular and intriguingly relevant piece of television drama.
Author David Bassom was granted full access to the production for this third official companion, packed with exclusive cast and crew interviews, photos, behind-the-scenes secrets, coverage of the online series Resistance, and a complete episode guide.
This was published immediately after season three. Many quotes and facts display the polish of a press release, without much reflection or hindsight unless related to earlier seasons. That said, the book does a good job summarizing S3 events and production history, though it does not delve too deep into key background issues, such as network interference, problems developing the sequel series "Caprica," or how writing Starbuck out of half the season allowed actress Katee Sackhoff to work on another production for BG producer David Eick, the short-lived TV series "Bionic Woman." In short, this book series serves as a prime "Battlestar Galactica" reference work until a new work emerges with historic scope and insight. Hopefully this will soon emerge.
Does what it says on the box :) gives you a synopsis of each episode, bios of the actors and their characters and some background to the series. And some nice colour photos are included.
