Battlestar Galactica: The Official Companion Season Two provides an in-depth look at the Sci-Fi Channel’s hit television series. Packed with episode reviews, character profiles, and dozens of production photos, the book presents a comprehensive overview of the series’ second season. Author David Bassom does an especially good job at summarizing the episodes and character arcs, and integrates quotes and interviews from various cast and crew members. He also discusses the fan and critical response to the first season, along with what to expect from season three. Incredibly engaging, Battlestar Galactica: The Official Companion Season Two is a fantastic guide to this remarkable television series.

Like the first volume this book goes through each episode of the season with an episode synopsis as well as behind the scenes interviews with the cast and crew.
What I find most interesting about this book is that it was written (or at least the interviews were taken) between seasons two and three, so a lot of those involved didn't actually know where the show was going.
So, on one side there's no spoilers for future seasons, but on the other it would be nice for them to have the chance to acknowledge future plot threads.
There is a section at the back of the book that talks about season one things, such as visual effects, music, sets, etc which I really enjoy, I just wish there was more focus on that.
Overall, this is consistent with the rest of these companions, so if you enjoyed them, you'll feel the same way about this one.

A fun read for BG fans, noting that these books were published more than a decade ago, while the series was in process. These books thus provide insight on mindsets of the production crews and stars during or soon after completing the episodes discussed, with none of the hindsight that might now be expected years after the show's completion..

We loved reading this as we watched the series on DVD! It gave so much extra information and little details about the people and scenes we never would have caught on our own! We can't wait for the 3rd Season to come out on DVD in March! We are Battlestar Galactica junkies!
