Join in the fun as everyone’s favorite young hero gets in shape for a cross-country race and tries to find the secret to winning. Another delightful story from the talented duo of children’s author Dawn McMillan and illustrator Ross Kinnaird that will have you giggling along from start to very surprising finish! “My legs are long, My knees are strong, But my butt needs something to move it along!”
“My legs are long, My knees are strong, But my butt needs something to move it along!”
This is a delightful book that kids will love. The determined hero tries hard to get in shape as he enters into a cross-country race.
On your mark, get set...GO! He's ready...he's steady... and it's blast off time! But...he quickly discovers that he is coming in last because his butt is so slow. Oh no! What can he do?
He tries different ideas that might give him an advantage and win the race. Would these things work if he attaches them to his butt: a big shiny engine? a kite? balloons? a swarm of bees? some strategic exercises, and many more? Will any of his imaginative and creative ideas cause him to be the winner?
This book will have kids giggling and entertained from beginning to end. I highly, highly recommend it as well as the whole series.
It is no secret that I love these books. The author does such a good job telling a funny and relatable story. The illustrations with the random farts keep the kids laughing. And while these books do not have a true cadence and some of the rhymes are a stretch, it all works and comes rolling of the tongue in a slick way. This butt is going to continue to read these books as long as the author continues to write them.
I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.
I was expecting Butts on THE RUN to be full of toilet humor, but I was way off base. I loved this story. It was imaginative yet realistic in the children's goals to get faster.
A quick read silly story that is sure to engage even reluctant readers! This series is cute and this one is a great read aloud for classes at the end of the year when they are harder to engage!
