Can a chance at making a dream come true give Jae something more—Xander?
Jae dreams of becoming a model in London. With five open call castings in a month, it feels like a sign, especially as one of those is for the agency he longs to get signed by—McKay’s Models. There’s one snag: he can’t afford to go to them.
In steps Xander. He hasn’t seen Jae in three years, but he’s happy to give his younger brother’s best friend a place to stay for a month. What he’s not expecting is the gorgeous man who takes his breath away at every turn.
When an act of kindness leads to a surprise kiss, will Jae end up with everything he’s ever dreamed of and more?
Getting Signed is a 50,000-word low-angst contemporary MM novel, with a friends-to-lovers romance between a make-up-loving wannabe model and his best friend’s brother. It’s part of the Model Love multi-author series. Each book can be read as a standalone, in any order, but there are so many models falling in love, why not read them all?
I'm an indie author from the UK, who writes contemporary and paranormal M/M romance. My books have flawed characters, happy endings, and lots of heart.
It’s not secrets that Colette Davison has quickly became my number one author when i’m looking for pure comfort. Her books are always so sweet and put the biggest smile on my face. And this one was no exceptions. This book just made me grin so much while I was reading it and reading it put me in the best of moods.
This book just had such a cute romance and I absolutely loved it. This was just so sweet to read and I had the best of time reading it.
I received an arc of this book and this is my honest opinion
This was just cute. No angst shmoopie sweet with a dash of spice. Sometimes we all need a break from the heavy and complicated and Colette’s books always deliver that, but especially this one. It’s like watching the adult X-rated version of two teenagers in first time puppy love and I’m here for it. Jae and Xander were just sweet as hell and the perfect escape.
I appreciate the author’s afterword as well, saying that this was an escape for her too! I love hearing an author’s thoughts at the end of the book and Colette is probably one of the only authors that does it consistently.
Really sweet, sexy, short read. Wonderful characters with a great brothers best friend trope. Great read if you are looking for a short, sexy, steamy book.
This book is a fast paced, lighter read with very little angst, a gradual escalation on the heat scale, and a heavy focus on the adorable relationship building and Jae’s determination to succeed where everyone else, except Xan, is convinced he’ll fail.
Both characters have some baggage from their youth that pops up here and there, but I’d say its related more to character development than plot, since the story is very laser focused on the “here and now,” including Jae’s attempts to get signed at a modeling agency and his and Xan’s budding relationship. The two characters are so fun to read and the attraction/chemistry is off the charts from the moment they see each other again.
I definitely appreciate the author not attempting to showcase the nastier side of the modeling industry; the realism would have quickly ruined the sweetness of these characters and the story. As it stands, you still feel how difficult and stressful the process is for Jae to endure and his eventual triumph when he nails the contract he was hoping for.
It’s a fast, but very satisfying read, with some potential for another book with Xan’s brother; so hopefully we’ll get to revisit these guys in the future!
Imagine being a gangly teen, realizing you’re gay and crushing hard on your best friend’s older brother. Now imagine that you’ve grown up, you’re trying to take over the modelling world by storm and you’re still crushing hard on your best friend’s older brother – who just so happens to have a True Fans account in addition to the YouTube channel that you spend a lot of time watching.
When Jae has 5 casting calls over the course of a month – all the way in London. He can’t afford that many round trips, so his best friend, Dillon, gets in touch with his brother, Xander, and arranges for Jae to stay with him. That’s awesome. Yup. Totally awesome. It’s not like you’ve been harbouring a crush on him forever and it’s still going strong even after not seeing him in the last 3 years. Xander wasn’t expecting his brother’s gangly bff to show up looking so… grown up and gorgeous. He is breathtaking and in desperate need of a little caretaking… and loving.
What happens when all of Jae’s dreams come true? A sweet, shmexy and easy read. I loved this story and how there was no real drama, even when Dillon struggled a bit with the relationship between his bestie and his big bro.
I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and, as always, my review is unpaid and honest. Getting Signed Colette Davison
Absolutely stunning, and I'm not just talking about Jae! Getting Signed is a wonderful, sweet and sexy story about chasing your dreams and being yourself. Important messages for all of us to hear.
Jae is an aspiring model who dreams of getting signed by an agency. There are several agencies with open calls in London over the course of a month he could attend, but Jae barely has money enough to travel for one of them, and can't afford to rent a place for the duration. And he has his heart set on one particular agency. Enter the best friend, Dillon's brilliant idea to ask his older brother, Xander, a YouTube (and True Fans) star, to provide lodging in London for Jae for the entire month so he can make all his dreams come true. And boy does he ever. They haven't seen each other in years, but, because of Dillon, they've known each other for most of their lives. Jae has always had a little bit of a crush on Xander and is one of his many loyal, anonymous fans. Has Jae become the man of Xander's dreams, or is this only a proximity fling?
This is a light and fluffy romance with very little angst. In fact, the angst really only comes from the outside, mostly in the form of shared experiences with less than supportive parents. The two of them are incredibly sweet together and you can't help but cheer them on to pursue their dreams and each other.
Jae Cho is a 21 year old full of dreams. He wants to be a model but there’re not many opportunities in Leeds, his hometown. There are several in London though and we wants to go but it’s expensive and money is tight. Good thing his best friend Dillon has a hot and amazing older brother who happens to live in London and can help Jae out. I needed this book! I love when love is front and center in a book, low angst, lots of smut and overall good vibes. Jae is beautiful and he’s not afraid of owing his personality. He loves wearing makeup and heels and still be a man. Xavier is hot and handsome and has a heart of gold. He’s does live streamings on yout*be and only f*ns while exercising na*ed 😮💨 hot hot stuff!!! Although the main trope was brother’s best friend, these two have know each other since they were little so there was also some friends to lovers mixed in which I loved. If you want to have a big smile on your face and read an amazing book about chasing your dreams and finding your happy, look no further! This was amazing.
This was the sweetest and full of swoon best friend's brother romance I have read! Jae was so adorable and had his heart set on modeling for a certain agency. His best friend Dillion hooks him up with rooming with his older brother Xander! I love stories that have the closeness of living together. These two had known each other but it had been years since they had seen each other. And well now they are seeing each other in a different light! The way their relationship progresses is adorable, natural and well eventually hot! Xander is supportive of Jae and encourages him to succeed by being himself. This was a very happy, fluffy read!
This was such a sweet, no angst best friend's brother story. I really loved how Xander and Jae got to know each other as men, as opposed to knowing each other through their best friend/ brother. I felt the book had a good pace, especially for a shorter read, and I couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed.
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily gave my honest review.
Getting Signed by Colette Davison is part of the Model Love series by multiple authors. This book is about Jae and Xander. Jae's biggest dream is to become a model. When there are open casting calls in London from 5 modelling agencies in 4 weeks time. When he has no funds to go to all of them his best friend suggests he could stay with his big brother who lives there. When Xander gets a phone call from his younger brother with the question if his best friend can come stay with him for 4 weeks, he agrees....
I loved their story. It was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written.
“You turned my life upside down when you stepped off that train, Jae. I fell for you the moment I saw you struggling with your suitcase and make-up case. You’re amazing. I’ve loved every second of you being here. You’re the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time.”
Oh the swooning involved! This book was super sweet and schmoopy, full of insta-love (sorta..but they have known each other for years) and happily ever afters. Jae and Xander might not have seen each other in three years, but a lot can happen in that time. Xander is a successful YouTuber (among other things) and Jae just wants to be a model. When he agreed to let his brother’s best friend love with him for a month, Xander had no idea how much Jae had grown up and matured. Needless to say, it took his breath away. As Jae goes from one open call to another at different modeling agencies, these two find themselves falling head over heels. These guys were definitely worth reading. This whole multi-author series has been great so far, not that I am surprised. I enjoyed every page and look forward to the rest of the series. I did read an ARC of this one.
Davison’s entry into this shared-world series is another sweet, low-angst story. Pretty much everything about this tale of an aspiring model falling for his best friend’s brother was predictable, and I say that as both a pro and con to the book. Jae appealed to me right away with his passion and dedication in the face of an unsupportive family, which is a common reality for most people attempting a career in a creative field. I was equally hooked by how Xander was the perfect foil for Jae in multiple ways, such as a slightly older person living their dream, which gave their romance a delicious opposites-attract vibe.
Xander is a good bro by welcoming Jae into his home (as inconvenient as it is for his secret second profession) and an even better friend when he plays sexy fairy godfather in his efforts to give Jae the best chance possible during his open calls at modeling agencies. They quickly establish a friendship as adult equals, and the romance that builds on that foundation occurs at light speed. However, the steamy bits occur at a bit more of a slow burn, which does an excellent job of maintaining the tension between the two men.
I was a bit bummed that the minor bit of external conflict did specifically involve their connection with best friend/little brother Dillon. Not because I wanted these sweet guys to have a more difficult time, but because I wanted more of a surprise from the ending when I already knew so much of what to expect from the story. Some of the sappier bits between Xander and Jae also went on for about 20 percent too long, but only to the point that I found it more amusing than annoying.
Overall, this book is exactly what it says on the tin, but the dynamic characters and lovely writing make taking the time to appreciate this book worth it.
Disclaimer: I received a digital review copy of this book from the author.
I love a book about dreams coming true, and Colette Davison gives that to us with Getting Signed. Getting Signed is a little different than the other two books I've read in the Model Love universe so far, because at the start of the book, Jae isn't a model. He's an aspiring model hoping to get signed at one of the upcoming open casting calls. He especially is hoping to get signed by McKay Models - the agency that links this universe together. The problem, however, is that the casting calls are in London and he's in Leeds. The cost would be prohibitive and his parents aren't willing to help, given that they think he should pursue a more practical career choice.
The solution: stay with his best friend's hot older brother, the man Jae had a crush on for years. Jae is a bit hesitant, not only because of the high school crush but because he watches Xander's adult streaming platform and is a little embarassed by it. But in the end, the pursuit of a dream wins out and he ends up going to London.
The book takes place over the course of a month and highlights the time they spend living together, getting to know one another, and of course the ups and downs of Jae's casting calls. This framework lets us see a lot of who each of our MCs are and lets us see the ways they interact and connect - particularly over the fact that neither of their parents were supportive of their dreams but both took the risks anyway in hopes that it would pay off.
The chemistry between these two men was off the charts - both physical and romantic. They felt believable. There was enough angst about the parents and with Jae's worry about getting cast at one of the Open Calls that it gave the story actual stakes instead of being a pure slice of life.
The spice levels were good and I loved the added bit of concern with Jae's best friend/Xander's brother. It added just the right amount of stakes as well. I love a book with some decent stakes after all.
Like the other two Model Love books I've read, this is incredibly fluffy, has a nice dose of spice, and is well worth the read.
** DISCLAIMER: I recieved an advance copy from GRR and this is my fair and honest review. **
I love books from Colette Davison that are full of fluffy, sweet goodness! It's such a easy story to fall into and enjoy just because it's such a happy, romantic and hot book. Jae is adorable, at first with his hopes of making it in the modelling world and then with his desire for Xander, who just happens to be his best friend's older brother. Xander may not remember Jae's looks much since he left home several years ago but the young man who turns up to stay with him in London blows his mind. The attraction is there from the start for them both, each wanting to make the other happy and Xander doing everything he can to look after the young man. It's a perfect romance for those who love a quick HEA with the couple quickly developing feelings for each other. I love the friendship between Jae and Dillon, clearly they have a strong bond and would do anything for the other. Would love to get a HEA for him at some time in the future. There are issues with both MC's parents but we focus more on the happiness and wants of Jae and Xander. It's also uplifting to show the modelling world in a lighter way. No backstabbing or mean words, just Jae trying to make his way but also not instantly making his way to the top. A must read for fans of the author and contemporary romance that is very low level angst, guaranteed HEA. I have read any of the other books in the series yet, they can stand alone, but will definitely be looking at them now. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
THANK YOU, Colette Davison, for giving us a book where all of the adult characters ACT like the adults that they are! So refreshing to read about Xander and Jae and how they deal with their new relationship along with each of their relationships with Xander's brother and Jae's best friend, Dillon. Lots of open and mature conversations about how they are each feeling and how to deal with the best-friend's-brother situation. I loved how Xander and Jae continued to discuss where they were in their relationship and how that would affect Dillon. And Dillon? He needs his own story ASAP because he was a gem who didn't act like a child.
And just because there are good communications happening, don't think that this book is slow, or dull, or too heavy - just the opposite. It is a light, no-angst, sweet, and sexy read. Xander and Jae light up the page when they are together in every way possible. The first time they make love it is filled with cozy emotional feeling - just a feel good moment!
This is my first book in this series that I've read and it worked great as a standalone. I highly recommend this book!
I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and I'm happily providing my honest review.
Getting Signed is about an aspiring model who goes to London to stay with his best friends brother for a month to go to several open auditions at several different modeling agencies trying to get signed. They know each other most of their lives, but haven't seen each other in three years and when they see each other the attraction on both sides is undeniable. I devoured this book in less than a day, couldn't put it down. These guys had me swooning left and right! I fell in love with Jae and Xander as they fell in love with each other. Their relationship was so easy and natural, they just fit together effortlessly. They had amazing chemistry in and out of the bedroom. As their relationship progressed they got hotter and hotter, especially the scene with the heels (fans self)! Xander was so caring, thoughtful, patient and Jae was just a beautiful person inside and out. They both were so supportive of each others dreams, it was uplifting. I really loved this book, gave me all the warm fuzzy feels and brought a smile to my face. Everyone's who reads it is in for a very sweet and sexy treat!
If you’re looking for the sweetest saccharin marshmallow fluff storyline featuring a sassy femme twink and best friend’s buff brother, this will be your JAM. Jae is an aspiring model who goes to live with his best friend Dillon’s brother Xander while he goes to some open modeling auditions searching for his big break. There’s a smidge of parental disapproval and of course breaking it to best friend but overall it’s an angst level of -1 with a heat factor of 8 and the sweetness factor is through the roof. It’s a light read that isn’t likely to hit high on the realistic vibe (I feel like modeling could be super gritty - this never really goes there) but is a light, feel-good story with a familiar and well-loved trope that’s a soothing way to pass a few hours and give your brain and soul a little break. When the real world is a little much and you just want to get away someplace easy (and hot!) this is the place you’ll go without regrets.
Getting Signed is part of the multi-author Model Love series. This is a wonderfully written, super sweet, best friend's brother story about Jae and Xander. Jae wants to be a model and there are five open call castings in London, but he won't be able to go to all of them. Jae's best friend Dillon's brother moved to London and is willing to let Jae stay with him so he can attend all the auditions. This is just a make you feel good story as Jae and Xander discover their love and affection for each other and Jae making his dream of becoming a model a reality. Jae and Xander have great chemistry and I'm glad they took a chance on each other. Now we just need Dillon to find his happy ending. This is a book to enjoy again and again. I definitely recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
A happy ending was inevitable when Jae and Xander become 'roommates!' They're perfect for each other.
Jae is staying with Xander while he attends open calls to become a professional model. Xander is the brother of Jae's best friend, Dillon. Dillon asks Xander to let Jae stay with him, so he also has a 'stake' in the relationship.
Xander hasn't seen Jae in 3 years and a lot has changed, for both of them. Xander if instantly attracted to Jae and provides monetary and emotional support while Jae suffers disappointment repeatedly.
You'll learn a lot about the fashion industry. You'll wonder whatever happened to Seth, another wannabe model.
This story is low in angst, high in feel good vibes and it makes for a refreshing read. This is the ‘everyone lives their best life, achieves their dreams, finds love and has a lovely time’ kind of story, and both Jae and Xander are beautiful, inside and out– it’s easy to want good things for them both. Since this is a “brother’s best friend” scenario, they have shared memories and experiences to build on, and their chemistry is emotional as well as physical. I wouldn’t call the details of their lives particularly gritty or even super realistic– this is more a shiny, happy take on the modeling industry and life in London– but again, it fits the tone and mood of the piece, which is fun and sweet and hot in turns.
*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Jae and Xander are so lovely and sweet together and this is a really well done take on the best friend’s brother trope. I enjoyed the setting as well, the fashion and modeling world was quite interesting and unique. I’ve not read many romance books set in this world, I thought it was a creative idea for a series. I really enjoyed the easy chemistry between Jae and Xander, and how they try to embrace and understand their differences. This is a great option if you are craving a steamy low angst read, with immensely likable characters and super sweet happy ending.

I loved this book. It is a part of a multi-author series, but it is a standalone. Jae is an inspiring model and in order to save money while he attends open cast calls, he stays with he best friend's brother, Xander. Jae has always had a crush on Xander and Xander is learning to see Jae through new eyes. They grow close while Jae chase his dreams and it is so great to see. This book was pretty low angst, full of sexy times and fluff. It was a really cute story, with characters you couldn't help but love. I truly adored this book and hope that Dillion, Jae's best friend gets his own story as he is part of the reason the Jae and Xander got together.
Just lovely...very nice and sweet romance. This is my second book in the Model Love series. Colette Davison does sweet and low angst so well. I just love best friend's brother romance and throw in forced proximity, I'm all in. Jae and Xander reconnecting and bonding gave me all kinds of feels...eventhough they knew each other...grew up together really...they clicked so well...so sensual...so sexy and oh so sweet. Xander was such a romantic...loved how he took care of Jae...loved how Jae found happiness with Xander and with his career. Glad I was given a chance to read this...NICE!!!!

What an adorable, fluffy, sweet story! I adored this fast-paced, light-hearted, best friend’s brother story. I love that Jae and Xander have known each other for most of their lives, but after non seeing each other for three years, when Xander offers to host Jae for a month while he goes to open-call modelling castings, he’s not prepared to the all-grown-up-and-gorgeous version of Jae. Attraction is instant and mutual, and their previous acquaintance makes falling for each other fast and almost inevitable! I loved all the sappy moments and the sweetness of this story!
Xander left home early because his parents didn't approve of what he wanted. So he move to London to follow his own path. Jae, his younger brother's best friend wanted to be a model. He did what his parents wanted and got a degree. But his dream was to be a model. He wanted to go to London, but it wasn't within his budget. Enter Dillon, his best friend, who called his older brother ,Xander, and asked him to let Jae stay with him. This is the love story of Xander and Jae. Loved this book great story, funny, sexy steamy and HEA.
Oh my god, nothing prepared me for the fluffy cuteness that is Jae. That boy made by heart flutter. I found it so easy to drift into his world and Xander 🥵 where do I even start with that gentle giant of a man??? I don’t think these two could be more perfect for each other if they tried.
Xander was so supportive of Jae’s dream, first opening his home up to him and then planning things after each open call to both celebrate or help Jae forget depending on the outcome. Xander really was the perfect boyfriend.
This was such a lovely, low angst sweet and swoony read
Ughhh. Delicious. Simply delicious. Very low angst, best friend’s brother, size difference, opposites attract. So so good. Jae is a slight, lithe, aspiring model with love for all things make up and lace. Xander is a big, buff streamer, that is so sweet. They just clicked. Xander loved to dote on Jae and encourage him. They fell in love fast and it was so sweet. The best happy ending. They gave each other the support they didn’t receive from their parents. Also, I’m very intrigued with Dillon and reeeaaalllyy hope he gets his own story!
This was cute and cuddly and warm and witty and I loved everything about it. Jae and Xander were both absolute sweethearts and fit together perfectly. They were good people, kind and thoughtful, down to earth even though one was a social media star and the other an aspiring model. There was no angst, just a lot of love, and reading their story was just one big hug all the way through. I loved Dillon too, having Jae's back, wanting the best for him and doing all he can to help and support him, and I would love for him to get his own love story. Please, Colette?
This book comes on the heels of its predecessors in the McKay’s Models series. Jae moves in with Xander to help make his dreams come true but he gets so much more. Together they move forward into successful careers and a successful relationship. Their road is filled with happiness and romance with a sprinkling of sweetness. A low drama atmosphere gives the reader a warm feeling as their lives develop around them. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
I must admit I rarely read model stories but I enjoyed this one. Aspiring model Jae goes to stay with his best friend's older brother Xander in London. He has had a crush on him for a while. They get on well and Xander is very supportive of Jae. They quickly become closer and at the end of the week they have to decide if they're ready to commit to a relationship. I really enjoyed reading this story. It's light, sweet and sexy. Another great Colette story.
