Holiday #7

What Happened After...

Rate this book
This is the Holiday Series Finale: a collection of 6 short stories about each featured couple in the Holiday Series. The events take place after each story's respective Epilogue.

Here’s a glimpse into the lives of the ladies of the Holiday Series. Find out what’s been going on with Weston & Annie, Talon & Emerson, Aria & London, Eleanor & Carmen, Paisley & Trinity, and Scarlet & Dakota.

Epilogues are nice, but they’re a snapshot in time. Maybe it’s a year after the book ends, or even just a few months. Maybe there’s a wedding or another life-changing event. Maybe a character announces she’s pregnant. Maybe the characters are moving across the country.

In this group of short stories, you’ll find out about the directions the lives of Holiday Series characters have taken and will take in the coming years, how they’re doing together, how they’re doing at work, and learn about what’s coming next for each of the characters in their relationships.

If you plan to read these, please read all the books in the series first. The context of the main stories is essential for you to enjoy these post-Epilogue vignettes.

Books in this series:

Book #1 - The Writing on the Wall (Weston)
Book #2 - The Block Party (Talon)
Book #3 - The Fireworks (Aria)
Book #4 - The Sweet Escape (Eleanor)
Book #5 - The Misperception (Paisley)

**'Readers sometimes would like to imagine that the storyline involved is not just the storytelling itself because sometimes there's a seriousness when telling stories, really...'

3.5stars!
This is the last book #7 in the 'HOLIDAY' series that concludes with an array of brief updates on the lives and love of the group of friends along with their spouses even those centralized supportive friends & families. What this series has laid out with all 6 friends is, just about all of them are deemed as protagonist characters -- none without flaws and all --- because as readers are aware, flawless main characters do evoke more eye rolls than admiration. And this was why i enjoyed each of their (Weston, Talon, Aria, Eleanor, Paisley, Scarlet) stories, told in a thoughtful manner in stages/books. The narrative also digs into the couples with who are married and who is being proposed to plus all who have kids or having more etc..
What Ms.Pyland does in telling this conclusion to the entire series is wraps up the storytelling with an enthusiastic 'can-do' from each married couple and not yet married ones with forever and family because of course LOVE do indeed conquers all.
A recommended book #7 and series!

Goodbye, Holiday series!

Nicole Pyland's series all have finale books which are essentially prolonged epilogues and this is the one for the Holiday series. Each couple in this series gets a chapter each here and what I absolutely love is that the entire book flows really smoothly through a 10-year period.

This series has been wonderful. I really love the couples (perhaps some more than others) and I love the friendship that everyone of them are a part of. And I thought this book brings about a really nice closure because we get a glimpse into the futures of characters after their HEAs and see how they're doing. My only complaint is that these women have too much sex. Lol.

Pyland might just be the ruler of the epilogue universe. These prolonged epilogues we get really bring some sort of closure to the wonderful stories told in a series.

In the Holiday Series Pyland introduced us to a group of 6 friends who all coupled up throughout about a year and found their HFN. In this epilogue of all the six stories she easily takes us on a ride of decade and it just flows wonderfully. We learn about marriages, kids and everything what we learn most though is that these women have A LOT of sex, so much that it might have been to much for me.

I just love these epilogues for the catch up and the closure it brings to one of my favourite Pyland series.

I love these super long epilogues that Pyland writes for each of her series. The glimpse into the futures of the characters is always so heartwarming and I especially liked this series set during a year of holidays. This one also goes 10 years into the future which I think is longer than others I've seen and I definitely enjoyed it. This is not a standalone though so make sure you read the rest of the series before picking this one up.

Friends for life

I love this series and all the characters in it. This may be my new favorite set of friends. It's very fitting that it all wraps up on New Years Eve. The look into their lives over the years is something I was really looking forward to and it was so worth the wait. Once you read their stories you will never forget them.

This book was interesting. It shows where are all this series MCs; the timeline progress is awesome as you read. You start today and you’ll end reading 6 or more years later.

My favorite couples were Scarlet & Dakota and Paisley and Trinity. Look all were great but their “endings” were different, no kids or different timelines compared to their other friends.

Great ending to a great series.

The conclusion of the Holiday series was fantastic. As always Pyland gives us a really nice and detailed epilogue that allows us to let the characters we love go.

We get glimpses in to the HEA of each one of the 6 plus Maria/Janet/Aubrey (it would be nice to get their book too!) I love that we see them all 1 year, 2 years, 10 years out! We get to experience their ups and downs but mostly we get to enjoy how perfect they all are for one another. It’s amazing and truly the best parting gift for such a wonderful series.

When Nicole Pyland writes a series, she follows them up with a book containing a bunch of short stories focusing on where each couple ended up after their original book finished. And I personally love these stories.

What Happened After, the Holiday Series finale takes the reader back into the lives of Weston, Talon, Aria, Eleanor, Paisley, and Scarlett. Each woman has found the love of her life and begun to settle down and build their future together.

The Holiday Series was longer than usual, introducing us to six characters, who had originally met in college and had remained friends into adulthood. Their interactions, banter, and inside jokes are what make these characters so relatable and appealing.

Janet, Mariah, and Aubrey’s story is interwoven throughout as well, which was a favourite of mine, even if they were secondary characters!

You have to read the first six books before this one, and I recommend them all. Then grab a copy of What Happened Next to see where their choices have taken them. It’s the perfect way to end a really great series.

For me the 'What happend after' isn't really necessary. After 6 books in this series already, it doesn't add much. Each next book already gives a bit of what happend after to the previous ones. Besides that, the last book in this series had a extended epilogue about all the MCs. So this is really more of the same, some bonus sex scenes and the predictable next steps. The writing is still good though and the characters still nice.

But I didn't really care how great they still were together, how much they still turned each other on, about their promotion or how many rooms their house has and how many children were in it.

Things started to repeat themselfs a bit too much and te same inside jokes about dishwashers, ice cream and Twizzlers passed by again. They weren't funny anymore and I'm done with it now.

But still, knowing the stories are out there I also had to read this finale book. It was like checking in with some good old friends.

What Happened After must be read after all six books in the series. As with all of Pyland'd books, the WHA takes place several years after the last book in the series. It's nice to see what happens in the future, especially as the events in six books take place in quick succession or at the same time.
It's a fitting farewell to a great series and some memorable characters.

Holiday Series Finale

I absolutely LOVE these "What Happened After" books. It's always so awesome to catch up with all the couples. We actually get to see the group over several years, so we do see how their lives have turned out - marriage, kids, careers, all of it. This is one of my favorite series - I enjoyed all the holidays throughout the year.

What Happened After is the last book in the Holiday series by Nicole Pyland which has 6 short stories. Each story is based around one friend in the group, their partner, and the life choices they have made.
This group of 6 is still very much close knit and looking out for each other. The group of friends made themselves into a family by choice as the years progressed. I will miss these characters, their well-rounded back stories, and future adventures.

Oh, there are still those steamy scenes and love the humour.

I have recommended the Holiday series on multiple occasions and will be the same for this last novel.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the author for my honest review.

I feel like if this series was put on screen… this book would be the final movie where as the other books would be series episodes.

**First off, you really need to read all the books in this series to experience this one the right way**

Now that we’ve all fallen for all 6 of the main characters and their partners, this book catches a glimpse into the rest of their lives. You know, to find out what happens next with them.

This whole series has been a little different than the rest of Pyland’s works. All of these characters are very closely involved in each other’s lives and several of the stories overlap. That’s what makes this WHA so good. It is like each of these mini epilogues are still focused on all the characters. Obviously, each chapter is about one couple specifically but the other characters are still very present. And everything gets tied up pretty nicely. You really don’t want to leave their “world”, but you're not left with that ache of, “but I need to know more.” My very favorite part about all Pyland’s book series are the What Happened After.. books, but I also kind of hate that this means it’s the end. It’s hard to let go…

**Books like this one are why you should read ALL of Nicole Pyland’s series** (You should still read the stand-alones too)

What Happened After (Holiday Series Finale)

The Holiday Series by Nicole Pyland was by far, my favourite series of hers that I have read. I'm sad that the series has ended, but now that all the books have been published I can go back and read the series all over again.

I always enjoy that at the end of her series, Nicole Pyland writes a "What Happens After..." book. It lets you see longer glimpses of the characters lives after their happily ever after. What I enjoyed about this book was that it was longer than her other "What Happened After..." books and that it spanned over a 10 year period. Even though each chapter of the book focused on a different couple from the series, you still got to see what the other couples were up to at that time as well. Along the way you even got a bit of an epilogue on Janet, Mariah and Aubrey (the secondary characters whose love story was interwoven throughout several of the previous books).

Without spoiling the end of the book entirely, I really felt like the ending was a nice wrap up to the friendships in the series. It showed how traditions between long-time friends can change and grow over time to adapt to where life takes you, while still having some part of that tradition you cherish.

It was a bit bittersweet to say goodbye to these characters in the epilogue book of the Holiday Series since I really enjoyed getting to know them. But I do always like seeing a glimpse into the future of the characters afterwards.

This one is a bit longer than the rest since there’s more couples than usual in the original series (as well as the romance of a few side characters) and it spans a longer time frame too. I liked some of the couples stories more than others but each story felt right for the characters. And I appreciated that not each couple followed the exact same path in their HEA. It was lovely to see the friendship stayed true with the characters and they kept up with certain traditions regardless of their lives diverging a little with marriage, kids and everything else that comes with life as you get older.

Overall, a great ending to one of Pyland’s longer series. Make sure you read the full series before picking up this one.

A great end to a great series.

What Happened After - The Holiday Series follows the lives of our favourite friendship group in the years after they all paired up.

What started out as 6 friends, eventually grew to include girlfriends, wives, kids and of course, pets! Despite the size of the new group and life changes, it was great reading how they still managed to make things work over time and all catch up together at different points.

Each chapter is based on a particular couple, and time passes in years as we go through chapter to chapter. I liked this touch, it kept things fresh and fast, so you really got a feel for all the big updates from everyone (weddings, kids etc) without it feeling like a drag.

Definitely make sure you read the series first to get the most of this story.

Highly recommended, as always with a Pyland book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

CONTENTED HEART

After thoroughly enjoying the marvelous Holiday Series by Nicole Pyland, we are rewarded with the treasure that is “What Happened After…”. This gift is not an ordinary epilogue but a compilation of short stories about Weston, Talon, Aria, Eleanor, Paisley, Scarlett, and their partners as they navigate their lives as couples in love. WHA is so much better than just a snippet of their lives in the future. Nicole let us know where life has taken them down the road of life with its twists & turns since finding forever love. Yes- you should read the Holiday Series books first and are the perfect way to start out the new year (You will NOT be disappointed) to truly appreciate this wonderful culmination of these journeys of LOVE. This is a perfect finale to the Holiday Series and will give you a smiling, contented heart.

The end is here and what an amazing wrap up of all the stories and characters this book brings!! It was sad when I finished it. Not because the story was sad but because you can't help but to fall in love with all these amazing characters. This is a must read series. Every single book left you wanting more. The way the author gives you a look into the lives of each friend but also how she overlaps their stories is done so flawlessly. Has to be one of the best series I ever read! The world that was created of 6 close friends and their journey of finding love and their place in their careers is such an awesome story. I highly recommend reading every single book as it gives bonus insight of each character and because its just that great of a series. Filled with laugher, sadness, hot and steamy scenes and so much more!!!

I always enjoy the What Happened After books for Nicole Pyland's series. It really is nice to return to the couples and see what is happening, how they are growing and what new challenges face them.

This particular book sees all the characters from the Holiday Series. Overall, this series was relatively low(er) angst and I was happy to see these extended epilogues follow suit. Also I really enjoyed

Overall I am both sad that it ended and happy that I got to return to this friend group one more time.

True BFFs

I really enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with all of my Holiday friends. This book provided six stories, one for each of the couples we met in the Holiday Series books.

I enjoyed the author’s use of time frame. The first story took place shortly after the last book in the series ended. And the final story took place many years into the future. It’s always nice to revisit previous characters. As readers, we get a chance to see how they’ve grown and what’s happening in their lives now.

Each of the vignettes were lovely. I am hard-pressed to pick a favorite. They all did a good job addressing the challenges that come with age and family. An excellent ending to an awesome series.

Yet another home run by Nicole Pyland. In my experience she is one of the only Authors that I’ve seen to give her readers in-depth vignettes on each of the main characters of each of series. I absolutely loved this series and I loved that in this book is the author’s ability to continue the depth of each character while still addressing real-life issues within a fictional context.

Over and above character development and believability, this book is well-written with the range of emotions from happiness, tension, love, compromise ans so much more. This has been one of my favorite series follow-up because of how the author traveled and completed the arc of each character’s story as individuals, couples, and a friend group. I look forward to this author’s next new book.

One of the coolest things Nicole Pyland does is give us details of the lives of the characters we read about and fall in love with after the original books have been completed. This is the after stories pertaining to a six book series. Details about how the characters have changed, grew and still managed to maintain such a great friendship. I loved the series and being able to read about their friendships, family, and their loves is beyond compare. Usually you finish a book and your left imagining how their futures play out or make it up for yourself, here is gives us a wonderful glimpse into their lives. I strongly recommend reading the entire series, you won't regret it.

What a great end to the series.
I was so taken by this whole series and became invested in each one of the friends lives, I could not see how Nicole could write one final book that would allow me to say goodbye to all these lovely people and not be left wanting more.....but she has. If you have enjoyed the series so far this is a fantastic book that cleverly takes you through the next ten years of the friends lives without rushing it and still giving the reader enough individual attention to each of the couples.
Well done Nicole Pyland.
This book is NOT a stand alone and can only be enjoyed after having read the rest of the series

The is the conclusion to Nicole Pyland's epic Holiday Series. Ms. Pyland is the expert at these kick ass epilogues!

This is bittersweet since I really enjoyed this series. It's become my favorite along with the Celebrities series.

We get glimpses into every couples' lives, from 18 months and up to 10 years.

This series is one to be re-read. I just loved the friend group and how they all stayed a close knit group even though their lives changed with work and kids.

I just loved how Aria will defend London! She's so fierce!

We watched each couple grow and change. Would they or wouldn't they have kids? How would their lives change if they had kids? These were real relationship issues that were handled in a healthy manner.

There were hints in the books as to the couples' futures, but this book wraps them up with a nice bow tie.

Oh, and yes, we get steamy scenes and smart assery! Love it!

It was beautifully written to watch all the friends find their person. True love is powerful!

Highly recommended series!

What a way to wrap up a series! Through the whole Holiday series you get a full story of one of the friends and little snap shots of the five remaining friends. Reading the whole series lets you get to know each character and appreciate and cherish the friendship they share. This being spread over a 10 year period was fantastic! Yes, you want to know what happened to characters after a series has ended, but finding out what happened to them for the long haul is even better! The Holiday series was fantastic and I'm kind of sad to see it end! Thank Nicole for sharing this women with us!

You know, this is a really hard group of friends to say goodbye to.

I have so loved this series, the story lines are so good and meshed together so well. The friends truly became my friends and that is the sign of a very impressive wordsmith. Nicole Pyland has given us several wonderful series, I still have a few to read (yea!), I enjoy everything about the writing; she writes great sex scenes and wonderful dialogue, what’s not to love? If you are not aware of her skills, you should take the time to purchase and read, you will not be disappointed!
