I like stories in which the protagonist becomes a hero. In this book we follow Micky who saves an old man on a parking lot and as reward gets 10 shots of a drug that makes him superintelligent. So far so good and I was actually intrigued what would happen. The old man he saved is a superintelligent man due to his own drugs, but he is on the run for a black government organisation and a industrial tycoon. So when Micky starts to take the drugs and develop his understanding of science and the world, he becomes involved in a big man hunt.
I think the balance of the book is off. The beginning of the story and the awakening of Micky was nice but near the end it started to rush too much. I think the origin of the drugs (extraction from human brains) really required more details, and an opportunity to move the story in a vampire like story was missed. The character development in the book was more that reasonable and also the sidekicks were give sufficient attention. An entertaining read of 3 stars.
The book is very related to the movie Limitless, but I liked the latter better.
Nice story, but with a lot of inconsistencies, such as why doesn't the missle hit the Titan, and why was it aimed at the White House? The story starts out real slow and I was about to stop but then starting page 100 the story got better, but it is strange that everywhere they went, those guys showed up(the bad guys) and sll the math in the book, pffff I dind't get anything of it and there were a lot of spelling/grammar mistakes(but that could be the Dutch translation)
